Chapter 628 Jasmine Sends Daniel to Jail

The conference room was buzzing with board members and company execs all present.

“Is Ethan really in trouble?” someone whispered.

“I heard that before Howard died, he wanted to take Ethan with him and find a way out for his illegitimate son, Bradley.”

“Unfortunately, Howard died too suddenly. Even the wildest animals care for their offspring!” the vice president said angrily.

“What a pity, Ethan was a genius.”

“What about the Raymond Group?”

Someone was already eyeing the Raymond Group.

“Ethan was the true shareholder of the Raymond Group. Now that he is gone, we can't let the Raymond Group go under.”

“Do you think Ethan is all alone? He has a family.”

He had legitimate heirs.

“That Cunningham family daughter they found halfway? I don't think she can handle such a big business. A woman with small kids should stay home and take care of them. Instead of handing the company over to a girl who knows nothing, it's better to let Daniel and Mrs. Douglas manage it.”

Claire's people were starting to make their move.

“Is that so?” The conference room door was pushed open, and Jasmine walked in, heading straight to Ethan's seat.

Claire's belongings now occupied Ethan's former seat.

“What kind of trash is on the table?” Jasmine raised her hand and threw everything into the trash can, sitting down in front of everyone. “Many of you probably don't know me, so let me introduce myself.”

“My name is Jasmine Cunningham, Ethan's wife. He had an accident and needs to rest at home, so I will be fully taking over his role in managing and making decisions for the company. Does anyone have any objections?” Jasmine asked.

Everyone looked at each other, unsure of Jasmine's intentions.

But outside the door stood many members of the Cunningham family; even Cordelia had come to support her daughter, making everyone cautious in their words.

“Ms. Cunningham, the Douglas Group is a century-old enterprise, not a game. You have no management experience. Even if you have Ethan's shares, you shouldn't be involved in company decisions. I think Mrs. Douglas and Daniel should manage the company.” Someone objected.

“Mrs. Douglas? Besides me, who else here is Mrs. Douglas?” Jasmine asked coldly.

The person was left speechless.

“Jasmine, you're just someone the Cunningham family found recently. You know nothing and are overestimating yourself.” Claire snorted, sitting to the side. “Today, I am determined to get Howard's shares and the company's management rights. You are not the chairman and have no veto power. Who manages the company needs to be decided by a vote of all board members and executives.”

Claire was confident, clearly having prepared in advance.

Jasmine looked at Claire, restraining her urge to kill.

“Even if it's Mr. Douglas's inheritance, it can't all go to Daniel alone.” Outside, Bradley walked in with a cane, glaring at Claire.

It was clear that Bradley was siding with Jasmine.

Claire laughed. “Do you think bringing Bradley here will get you Howard's things?”

“Originally, Howard had prepared a will, but Mark bought off the lawyer by his side, so now there's no will or paternity test to prove Bradley is Howard's son,” Ben whispered in Jasmine's ear.

Claire was indeed very smart and had made thorough preparations.

Jasmine looked at Claire. “Don't get too comfortable just yet.”

“Or what? What proof do you have that Bradley is Howard's son? Howard is dead,” Claire said smugly.

“Mom.” Outside, Daniel walked in, looking anxious.

Jasmine leaned back in her chair, watching Daniel.

“Mom, let's go. Stop fighting, okay?” Daniel said softly, almost pleading.

Claire snorted. “Useless thing, come here and sit down. Your dad is dead, and his things rightfully belong to you.”

Daniel lowered his head, remained silent for a long time, then looked up at Jasmine.

Jasmine also looked at Daniel. “Have you thought it through?”

Daniel opened his mouth. “Jasmine.”

“Don't call me that. You're not worthy,” Jasmine said in a low, disgusted voice.

“You have every right to hate me,” Daniel said with a bitter smile.

“Don't say those high-sounding words. You framed me and sent me to prison for five years. If you want me to let go of the people you care about, then confess your crimes and turn yourself in for leniency,” Jasmine said threateningly.

“Jasmine, what are you trying to do?” Claire stood up angrily, quickly comforting Daniel. “Daniel, don't listen to her. Being a Cunningham means nothing here. This is the Douglas Group.”

“Mom, we were wrong, weren't we? Dad even lost his life. Was it worth it?” Daniel laughed sarcastically, taking a step back.

“What do you mean? What is she using to threaten you?” Claire looked at Daniel in disbelief.

“I'm sorry, Mom. If I don't do this, I'll never be at peace with my conscience,” Daniel said, and as soon as he finished, the police walked in.

“We received a call about Daniel turning himself in. Please come with us,” the police said, taking Daniel away in front of everyone.

Before leaving, Daniel glanced at Jasmine. Jasmine said nothing; she would no longer show mercy to anyone.

“Jasmine, what have you done? What have you done!” Claire lost control, rushing to question Jasmine, but was stopped by Ben and Tom.

“I just returned the favor from six years ago. Can't handle it?” Jasmine stood up, approaching Claire. “Daniel turned himself in. He committed the crime. He deserves to go to jail.”

“Jasmine! You bitch, he protected you for years. You were once in love. Do you hate him so much that you want to destroy him?” Claire was frantic, hating both Daniel's lack of ambition and Jasmine's.

“Guess what I used to threaten him?” Jasmine sneered. “I used Lisa and Casey. If he didn't turn himself in and confess, I wouldn't spare Lisa and Casey.”

Claire looked at Jasmine in disbelief. “You're crazy! You would go after Lisa and Casey? They're innocent!”

Claire probably never expected Jasmine to become so ruthless.

“Innocent? When you threatened me with Richard and Justin, why didn't you say they were innocent? How laughable.” Jasmine grabbed Claire's collar, speaking word by word, “Claire, those who do many wrong things will eventually face the consequences. Your malice will ultimately bring retribution upon your children.”
