Chapter 895 Edgar and Avery Met

"What do you mean by that?" Primrose frowned and asked in a low voice.

"Are you now standing on her side? You better think carefully about who has the power to keep you here," Primrose reminded coldly.

The few people laughed and exchanged glances. No matter how well-connected Primrose was, she couldn't outrank the CEO's wife in the company, could she?

"Primrose, don't think you can bully people in the company just because you have some connections," a colleague said angrily, standing protectively by Hestia's side.

Hestia said nothing, watching the scheming and sycophancy in front of her.

These people were really cold and even ostracized her when they didn't know she was the president's wife of the Cunningham Group.

But now, reality hit hard.

"You guys..." Primrose was obviously shocked. What did these people mean?

"Your are just rich. Do you know what Hestia's status is?" the colleague sneered.

Hestia sighed and turned back to her workstation. She decided to focus on her work.

It felt like she had to work even harder than before.

Otherwise, it seemed like more people would be watching her, saying she wasn't worthy of Edward.

"What background could she have? You guys must have been deceived by her, right?" Primrose sneered, sitting at her desk. "Do you really think you can push me out like this? Even if you leave, I won't."

"She's the president's wife. What about you?" the colleague said arrogantly.

Primrose didn't react for a long time, thinking the other person was speaking for her.

But seeing Hestia working without paying attention, she frowned. "Who are you saying is the president's wife?"

"Hestia, she's Mr. Cunningham's wife. We saw Mr. Cunningham at lunch today, and he admitted it himself," the colleague answered proudly.

Primrose was stunned for a moment and then suddenly stood up. "Hestia, who are you trying to fool?"

Hestia still didn't respond.

Primrose became more aggressive. "Hestia, you can't possibly be..."

Before Primrose could finish, the head of the PR department came in with some people. "Primrose, you are suspected of leaking company secrets. Come with us for an investigation. We will prosecute according to the law."

Primrose's face turned extremely pale, looking at those people in shock.

Didn't her dad settle this for her?

"Are you guys mistaken? My dad is..." She was really panicking now.

"Does it matter who your dad is?" Edward came in from outside. His presence was overwhelming.

Hestia's typing paused for a moment, and she turned to look at Edward.

Why did he come? This would affect their work.

"Who are you..." Primrose asked in shock.

"I am Hestia's husband. My name is Edward," Edward said in a deep voice.

Primrose's body wobbled, almost falling to the ground, quickly holding onto the desk.

Edward, the company president.

She never thought Hestia would be Edward's wife.

"You guys are ganging up on me!" Primrose was still somewhat delusional.

"Primrose, you are a very capable person. Actually, with your own abilities, you might not lose to me. Wouldn't it be better for us to compete fairly? But you insisted on taking the wrong path. Your current situation is not caused by anyone else but yourself," Hestia sighed.

Primrose clenched her hands, looking at Hestia. "What's the point of saying this now? I just can't accept being worse than you!"

"You still have a chance to make amends. I believe you didn't intend to harm the company. Who made you do this? You have a good family background, good education, and good abilities. You've won so many scholarships and competition awards. There's no need to ruin yourself on a whim. If you go to jail, your future will be ruined."

Hestia was right. They were all in the legal department and understood that once someone in this industry crossed the legal line, they would lose credibility.

It would be very difficult for Primrose to continue in this field in the future.

Primrose was clearly scared. She was just a recent graduate, blinded by interests and competitiveness.

"Do you have evidence?" Primrose was a bit timid, lacking confidence.

"If we didn't have evidence, would we come to you?" Edward said in a deep voice.

"Mr. Cunningham, please forgive me this time. I really didn't mean it," Primrose was scared by Edward, her voice choked. "I didn't think it would have such serious consequences. I was too naive at the time."

"A moment of impulse," Edward sneered. "I'll give you a chance. Tell us who made you do this. As long as you confess, I will be lenient."

"It was... it was a PR person from the Powell Corporation named Terrence Wheeler. He seems to be the president's assistant. He said that if I did this, he would guarantee my benefits. Even if you found out and didn't want me, the Powell Corporation would give me a higher position in the legal department when they entered Silverlight City..."

Primrose was timid. She confessed everything when scared.

Sure enough, it was the Powell Corporation.

Edgar's Residence.

Lyanna carefully looked at Edgar while carrying her suitcase. "So... I'm really staying here?"

"Rhett is pressing so hard. If you don't stay here, where do you plan to stay?" Edgar pointed to a room in the corner. "I warn you, don't have any other thoughts. Given your past, you stay on the 18th floor, and I stay on the 19th floor. We're not on the same floor."

Edgar was very particular about keeping himself clean now.

Although Avery didn't think highly of him, he still wanted to keep himself clean.

Lyanna responded with an "oh," carrying her suitcase into the room.

"If you need anything, let me know," Edgar reminded. "We have to act the part."

Lyanna came out and nodded. "Rhett just asked me where I was staying. I said I was staying with you, and he asked for the address and room number."

Edgar frowned, a bit displeased. "Why did you give him the room number?"

"If I didn't, he would be suspicious," Lyanna said softly. "He'll definitely come over later."

Edgar cursed irritably. "Go take a shower and change into your pajamas."

Ready to face Rhett's sudden inspections at any time.

"Is Rhett crazy?" Edgar cursed.

Taking off his shirt, Edgar sat on the sofa, looking at the time to see if Rhett would come.

Jasmine claims to have evidence of Lily's underhanded actions. It was highly likely...Lily and Rhett had joined forces. All signs now pointed to a strategic partnership between the Murray family and the Powell family.

They couldn't let their guard down.

Sure enough, the doorbell rang shortly after.

Edgar cursed, looking at Lyanna coming out of the bedroom with wet hair and wearing a camisole nightgown. "Let's go, open the door."

Lyanna took a deep breath, trying to look less nervous.

Edgar put his hand on Lyanna's shoulder, keeping his hand far from her body. Acting wasn't easy.

"Who is it so late?" He cursed while opening the door.

As soon as he opened the door, Edgar's body stiffened.

He stood up straight, almost instinctively moving away from Lyanna.

Outside the door, there was not only Rhett but also Avery.

She was injured, and because of her pregnancy, she was on probation and under house arrest.
