Chapter 881 Nolan's Fake Illness Exposed?
Nolan looked at Amelia blankly. "Amelia, well, wasn't it just low blood sugar that day?"
Amelia looked at Nolan. "You shouldn't keep hiding it, everyone will support you."
"Yeah, Nolan," Jasmine also spoke up.
Cordelia's face changed, and she looked at Nolan nervously. "What illness do you have?"
Nolan took a deep breath. "I don't even know what illness I have."
"Your assistant told us you have late-stage cancer," Edward sighed and finally said it. "Nolan, there's no need to hide it from everyone, we will find out sooner or later. We are here for you, and with advanced medical technology, you can't give up."
Amelia's eyes reddened, and she looked down at her belly. "You don't want to miss seeing the baby being born, do you?"
Nolan's mind was racing. "Cancer?"
Taking a deep breath, Nolan looked at Amelia with a rolling Adam's apple. "Did you forgive me because I have cancer?"
Amelia nodded. "If you were fine, you wouldn't have come to find me, right?"
Nolan opened his mouth, feeling a bit scared. What if Amelia found out he wasn't sick and left?
"What's going on?" Cordelia stood up nervously.
"Mom, I know you're worried, but please calm down." Nolan took a deep breath. Should he explain or not?
If he didn't explain, his mom might be scared to death.
"Actually, it's not a big deal," Nolan quickly explained.
Cordelia felt a bit faint. "I require a moment to compose myself."
Amelia stood up with reddened eyes. "I'm sorry, should I not have said anything?"
"Amelia, it's not your fault. I had someone do a reading for him when Nolan was a child, and the result was good. He shouldn't have any major illnesses," Cordelia muttered softly, turning to grab Jasmine's wrist. "I'm feeling dizzy, I need to lie down for a bit."
Jasmine quickly helped Cordelia to the room.
Nolan opened his mouth. "Mom?"
Then he chased after her.
"Mom, you misunderstood, I'm not sick," Nolan explained.
But no one believed him, not even Amelia.
"Nolan, stop hiding it. We'll go to the hospital tomorrow and see a specialist," Edward said.
"Why should I go to the hospital!" Nolan was a bit angry. "Where did you all hear this from? When did I get sick?"
Edward sighed and said nothing more.
Amelia's eyes were also red, and she sat on the sofa in silence for a long time.
Only Ethan squinted his eyes suspiciously.
Looking at Nolan, he didn't seem like someone who was sick.
Ethan stood up. "You two should have a good talk."
Then he signaled to Edward.
Edward followed Ethan to the yard.
The living room was left with only Nolan and Amelia.
Amelia spoke softly. "Nolan, the medical facilities in Sunrise City are not as good as in Silverlight City. Please cooperate, let's get checked again, okay?"
Nolan leaned on the sofa, rubbing his temples. It was a mess, a complete mess.
Who was spreading these rumors, his assistant?
What exactly did he say?
"Nolan, you can't be so negative, you have no will to live," Amelia looked at Nolan. "You still don't love me, do you?"
Nolan's hair stood on end. How did this turn into a question of love? "Amelia, I love you very much."
He had fallen in love with her long ago, otherwise, why would he leave the company to go to Sunrise City to seek her forgiveness?
"You're just feeling guilty because you're sick," Amelia choked up. "You feel sorry for me, that's why you came to find me, right?"
"No," Nolan quickly comforted her. "I'm really not sick."
"You're still lying to me, you don't want to live," Amelia burst into tears.
Nolan quickly held her in his arms, feeling a bit touched.
So, she thought he was dying.
Nolan always thought Amelia would hate him for the rest of her life, but she was so sad thinking he was dying.
"Nolan, there's something I've never told you," Amelia decided to tell Nolan about the baby, that it was his.
If he knew the baby was his, would he have the motivation to live?
"You have something else to hide from me?" Nolan was shocked and sat up straight.
Amelia looked down at her belly. "You've always wanted to know whose baby I'm carrying, right?"
Nolan took a deep breath, not really wanting to know. "Actually, it's not necessary to know, you don't have to say, I'll raise the child as my own."
He would treat the child as his own.
"The baby is yours," Amelia said softly. "When I left Silverlight City for Sunrise City, I found out I was pregnant."
Nolan was stunned, not reacting for a long time.
"What did you say?," Nolan grabbed Amelia's shoulders excitedly.
"The baby is yours," Amelia said while crying. "Can you live for the sake of the baby?"
Nolan hugged Amelia tightly, almost jumping with excitement. "Amelia, the baby is mine."
Before, Amelia wouldn't say because she hadn't forgiven him, she was punishing him, he understood.
Nolan hugged Amelia tightly. "Amelia, I'm sorry for treating you badly before, I'm sorry."
Amelia shook her head. "You have to live well, you have to make it up to me and the baby for a lifetime."
How could he die so quickly?
Nolan's eyes reddened. "Okay, I'll make it up to you for a lifetime, how dare I die."
Nolan was so excited, he wanted to explain, but he was afraid of losing his wife and child, so he had to keep it a secret for now and find a suitable opportunity.
In the yard, Ethan and Edward were still analyzing.
"Do you think it's possible that Nolan really isn't sick? I checked the hospital, there's no record of Nolan's visits. You all said Nolan used someone else's identity, but that's unlikely." Ethan spoke again. "I don't think Nolan was lying just now."
Edward thought for a moment, gritting his teeth. "I've suspected him for a long time. I now suspect he pretended to be sick to skip work, leaving the company to me, and went to chase his wife!"
So, Ethan and Edward squinted their eyes dangerously at Nolan coming out of the living room.
Nolan, being too happy, looked smugly at them. "I'm going to be a dad soon."
But Ethan and Edward found him very annoying.
"I'm going to be a dad soon, do you have that?" Nolan smugly asked Edward.
Edward took a deep breath, looking at Ethan. "Can I beat him up?"
Ethan nodded. "Sure."
Edward flexed his fingers, making a fist. "Nolan, I suggest you go back to the company quickly. You just ran off, and I'm swamped!"
Because of the busy company, he hadn't seen his wife for half a month. After speaking, Edward looked at Ethan. "Can you help persuade my wife to return to the Cunningham Group?"
Ethan nodded. "Hestia is considering it because the HR department talked to her about a permanent position, but she didn't agree."
Edward fired the HR representative, demanded changes, and had the HR manager apologize to Hestia, pleading for her return. The legal department also made repeated attempts to contact Hestia.
Apparently, Hestia was tempted.
