Chapter 848 Avery is going to marry someone else
Considering Fiona was pregnant, Ryan was quite considerate and gentle.
That day, Fiona slept deeply, nestled in Ryan's arms, feeling more relaxed than ever before.
Ryan was a doctor and had to get up early every day to go to the hospital.
When he woke up, Fiona was still nestled in his arms.
Ryan smiled and kissed her forehead.
In the past, he didn't have anything urgent to return home for even after work. Now, as soon as work was over, he couldn't wait to rush home.
The feeling of having someone waiting for him at home was pretty nice.
He was getting addicted to it, so he didn't want to let her go even more.
"Fiona, since you've provoked me, don't think about running away." Ryan whispered, saying the harshest words in the gentlest voice.
Fiona murmured softly, turned over, and continued to sleep, hugging the blanket.
Ryan smiled, got up, made breakfast, put her breakfast in the steam oven to keep warm, and then went to work.
The Cunningham Mansion.
Edgar had been staying at home these days, not going out.
Cordelia looked at him wandering around the house in floral shorts and got curious. "Did you get dumped?"
Dumped again?
None of her three sons were worry-free. The first son was too obsessed with work, the second son was too rational, and the third son was too fickle, changing girlfriends too frequently.
But recently, Edgar's punishment had come.
This time, he met Avery, and Edgar finally suffered a loss.
Edgar scratched his messy hair and picked up Ellis to give him a kiss.
Ellis, feeling annoyed, pushed Edgar's face away with his chubby hands.
Cordelia rolled her eyes at Edgar and rescued Ellis from him. "You're so scruffy, your beard is prickling Ellis."
Seeing Ellis being delicate, Edgar walked over and picked up Indigo from the walker to give him a kiss.
But Indigo, not accommodating him at all, slapped Edgar's scruffy face with his chubby little hand.
Edgar felt hurt.
Why was he disliked everywhere?
"Hey, who are you?" Joe, who had just come back from school, looked at Edgar in shock.
Edgar felt even more hurt. Joe didn't even recognize him.
Justin also glanced at Edgar. "Uncle, what's wrong with you?"
His hair and beard were all scruffy, looking like a homeless man on the street.
"I got dumped," Edgar said, lying on the sofa with tears in his eyes.
Indigo climbed down from him, clapping happily, and wobbled towards Joe and Justin.
Joe and Justin quickly hugged Indigo.
"Uncle got dumped?" Justin asked.
Edgar covered his face, feeling even more upset.
He had been moping at home for half a month, but Avery hadn't sent a single text or made a single call.
After saying such hurtful words, she didn't even contact him first.
It was too heartbreaking.
"Uncle, I think Avery went on another blind date," Justin suddenly remembered something.
Edgar sat up abruptly. "How do you know?"
"Aunt Betty told me. She said Avery broke up with you and is looking for a new marriage partner," Justin blinked his innocent big eyes.
Edgar stood up abruptly. "Broke up? When did that happen?"
Edgar was very angry and was about to run out in his floral shorts.
"Get dressed. You'll scare Avery looking like that," Cordelia said helplessly.
Edgar thought for a moment, then ran back to change clothes and shave.
He couldn't lose face in front of Avery's blind date.
"Grandma, we had a test today. Justin and I both got A. It was too easy," Joe said seriously, indicating that they had already learned everything in first grade.
Cordelia smiled and ruffled the two kids' hair. "The reason we have you go to school with your peers is to let you experience the joy of life. Why didn't Casey come back with you?"
"He's dumb. He got the lowest score and the teacher kept him behind. Felix is waiting for him," Joe said disdainfully. "Such a useless person will be bullied when he grows up,"
"Don't say that. With us around, who dares to bully Casey," Justin always defended Casey.
"If you keep spoiling him like this, he'll never learn to grow up, dumb as a rock," Joe said angrily, having a disagreement with Justin over how to treat Casey.
Cordelia smiled as she watched the children in front of her. Kids really were growing up day by day.
"He's just a dumb little kid. If I don't spoil him, what should I do?" Justin said innocently.
"Go ahead and spoil him. One day, you'll spoil him rotten," Joe snorted and turned to go to his room.
Justin lowered his head and thought for a moment. "Grandma, am I wrong to be too good to Casey?"
Cordelia shook her head. "Casey is a poor little kid. If you're not good to him, he'll be too pitiful. Joe's personality has been influenced by Edgar, very stubborn. He spoils Casey more than you do but doesn't realize it."
Justin thought for a moment and realized it was true.
After Casey burned his hand getting hot water, Joe never allowed Casey to get hot water by himself again. Although he always scolded Casey, he would always help him get hot water.
Outside, Casey came back, with a small backpack, red eyes, and head down, looking aggrieved.
He sniffled, walked up to Justin, and started crying.
Justin quickly comforted him, taking his backpack. "Don't cry."
"Justin, am I really dumb?"
"Not dumb," Justin comforted.
"Dumb as a rock!" Joe heard Casey's voice and came out of the room, scolding Casey.
Casey cried even louder.
"All you do is cry. Come in and do your homework!" Joe was very stern.
Casey sniffled, lowered his head, and walked to the room, muttering as he walked. "I hate Joe the most, bad Joe, no lollipop for you."
Joe looked at Casey's red eyes, his brows furrowed. "Your drawing is pretty good, you're not completely hopeless. Learning isn't the only standard for being smart, you have other talents."
Casey glanced at Joe, wiped his nose, and thought he wasn't that bad, so he decided to give him a lollipop.
Over there, Edgar, dressed as flamboyantly as a peacock spreading its feathers, rushed out of the house and quickly ran towards the restaurant where Avery was having a blind date.
If he didn't go now, he would lose Avery.
Sunshine Restaurant.
Avery sat quietly.
"Do you have any plans to get married soon?" a man asked Avery.
Avery was startled and came back to her senses. "Sorry, the Hawthorne Group has encountered some problems recently that need to be resolved."
"If you agree to marry me, I can help the Hawthorne Group through this difficult time," the man, dressed in a suit, looked like an elite.
Avery was silent for a moment, then smiled. "Okay."
At the elevator entrance, Edgar, who had just rushed in, heard Avery agreeing to marry someone else.
He stood there stiffly, not knowing if he was angry or feeling something else.
