Chapter 307 What is Luna's Goal?
Richard glanced at Betty for a moment, mistakenly thinking that Betty cared about him.
But it was only for a moment.
How could that be possible?
This young lady's eagerness was nothing more than a fleeting interest in him.
"Betty, are you serious about being with me?" Richard asked.
Perhaps because of Aurora's return, Betty became a bit flustered and replied, "Richard, bring your related certificate and come with me to the Marriage License Bureau tomorrow morning."
Richard frowned and touched Betty's forehead, rebutting, "You're being crazy again, let's go home."
Betty grabbed Richard's wrist and lowered her head. She replied, "I'm serious. We can have a secret marriage. It doesn't matter if you don't want anyone to know."
She doesn't mind this.
Richard turned to look at Betty, unsure of her true intentions. He inquired, "Why don't you just tell me what you want?"
He would try his best to satisfy her.
"I don't want to get married again. The people from the Johnson family are always watching me. I need to marry someone I can control to ensure that there won't be any problems," Betty came up with an excuse and looked up at Richard. Would you dare to marry me?"
Richard could sense the panic in Betty's eyes.
Other than when she saw a dog, Richard rarely saw fear in Betty's eyes.
There was silence for a long time, and then Richard spoke with a deep voice. "Okay."
Since it was what she wanted, he would fulfill it.
It was just obtaining a marriage certificate.
If she wanted to leave, he wouldn't stop her.
Betty stood on her tiptoes, clutching onto Richard's neck, her eyes turning red, saying, "Don't change your mind."
Richard looked at Betty with a complex gaze.
The one who should be regretful was her.
Rental house.
As Jasmine walked in the door, she was pressed against the door by Ethan, who leaned in for a kiss.
Her ears turned red. Jasmine wanted to push him away but couldn't.
"I'm going to take a shower," Jasmine said, feeling like she had just returned from outside, covered in the scent of those women's perfumes. Ethan, a serious germaphobe, should have resisted it.
But recently, Jasmine noticed that Ethan's germophobia only applied to people other than her.
It seemed like he was more attracted to her.
Seeing Jasmine's distraction, Ethan asked, "Shower together?"
"No," Jasmine refused, she wanted to run away, but Ethan grabbed her and unzipped her dress.
"You're always being cheeky," Jasmine felt that Ethan enjoyed teasing her.
Ethan smiled and coaxed, "Baby, you've worked hard and gotten me such a good opportunity. Shouldn't I reward you?"
"Are you sure it's a reward for me?" Jasmine blushed. He always wanted to have sex with her. How could that be called a reward?
"I have nothing now. Aren't you the one supporting me?" Ethan looked innocent and asked, "I can't just be dependent on you without contributing, can I?"
Jasmine's ears burned, being carried by Ethan into the bathroom.
"If you want to work, just clean the toilet," Jasmine said with a smile.
Ethan bit her neck, noticing that Jasmine had become bolder, and he loved her more.
"Well, after we're done making love, then we can work. Let me enjoy the feeling of pleasure for now," Ethan smirked as he held Jasmine in his arms and began his next move.
After getting tired in the bathroom, Ethan carried her back to the room to tire her out.
In any case, Jasmine had an illusion that Ethan seemed to have endless strength.
Exhausted, Jasmine lay on the bed, utterly depleted.
Ethan, who had never done any housework before, was busy in the kitchen and bathroom.
"Baby, how can I use this cleaning agent?"
"Baby, how can I turn on the kitchen ventilation?"
"Baby, do you know how to use the dishwasher?"
"Baby, how can I make Quiche?"
As Jasmine watched Ethan come to her bedroom door repeatedly to ask for advice, her eyes turned red, and her vision blurred.
She knew that Ethan was trying to help her regain her confidence.
She actually knew everything.
The more Ethan relied on her, the more secure she felt.
She had never thought that after experiencing so much hardship and countless times giving up on life, she could still meet someone as radiant as Ethan.
Jasmine's phone rang. It was from Henry.
Jasmine answered the phone.
"Jasmine, I've transferred the money to you," Henry's voice was hoarse.
He encountered a lot of resistance before getting the money. Bill must have disagreed.
The Patrick family probably still didn't know that Justin was not their child, and Henry definitely did not dare to say it.
"Have you told your Grandfather about Justin's identity?" Jasmine asked, afraid of causing trouble.
"Not yet. There's no need to say anything for now. I will make it." Henry assured Jasmine.
Only a few people knew that Justin was Ethan's son.
"Henry, things obtained through calculation can make one uneasy," Jasmine spoke in a low voice.
On the other end of the line, Henry kept silent.
"I will divorce Ethan, but even so, I will not fall in love with you," Jasmine's attitude was firm.
"If I didn't deceive you, if I treated you sincerely from the beginning, would you have fallen in love with me?" Henry remained silent for a long time before asking this question.
Back in Boston, if he had treated her well and been willing to give her a status without deceit, would she have been willing?
"Yes," Jasmine did not lie. In her extreme lack of security, when she was in darkness, any genuine kindness would make her dependent.
From a psychological perspective, someone in adversity is more prone to falling in love with others.
However, Henry's feelings for her lack sincerity.
For her sensitivity, Jasmine could feel whether someone was sincere or not.
Henry didn't say anything further and hung up directly.
He would probably regret it.
Lying on the bed, Jasmine lost in thought for a very long time.
If she had not met Ethan after being released from prison, what would the outcome be now?
Perhaps she would have drowned in the abyss.
Or she would have accepted her downfall and become even worse than those evil people.
Ethan was like her god, shedding the light for her.
"Jasmine, I'm hungry," Edgar came in with two children, and the smell of food was greeting them at the door.
Ethan glanced at Edgar with disdain, rebutting, "I didn't cook for you."
"You actually cooked yourself!" Edgar leaned against the wall and teasingly asked.
"In any case, there's no portion for you to eat," Ethan threw the apron aside and brought out the Pancakes, Quiche, and Omelette.
Edgar's mouth twitched. "Do you have a grudge against eggs or something?"
"I've only learned how to cook these three dishes recently." Ethan replied quietly.
Justin was still very enthusiastic and ran over to hug Ethan. "I like eating eggs. They're good for our health."
"Justin knows how to please people," Edgar laughed. "By the way, I brought a friend to join us for dinner."
At the doorway, Luna, who had been standing nervously, nodded at Ethan and greeted, "Hello."
Ethan didn't think much of it, as he knew that Edgar was a man who loved to show off his charm everywhere, it is normal that there are women around him.
In the bedroom, Jasmine changed his clothes and came out, only to see Edgar and Luna.
Luna was also stunned when she saw Jasmine. "Jasmine."
Jasmine looked at Luna, then Edgar, furrowing her brows.
She had gotten involved with Edgar again.
Was it because she couldn't get to Nolan that she changed her direction?
"Jasmine, do you know each other?" Edgar surprised.
"Please assist in the kitchen." Jasmine said with an unpleasant expression.
Edgar obediently went to help in the kitchen.
Even Justin was surprised. How could their mom, who was usually so gentle, suddenly get angry?
"What is your purpose?" Jasmine approached Luna, lowering her voice.
Even though Jasmine felt some empathy due to Luna's similar life experiences, the more she was like this, the more Jasmine understood that women trapped in darkness could easily descend into the abyss if their willpower was not strong enough.
