Chapter 341 Ethan Is Going to Have Insomnia Tonight.

Ethan paused for a moment, then suddenly pulled Jasmine into his arms, trapping her beneath him. "You want to abandon me again," he said.

She looked at him and spoke softly,"I promised Henry that if we divorce, he won't always target you. You're starting a business now. You can't have them all watching you."

He replied, "I disagree."

"Ethan," she said, her fingers feeling cold as she reached out to touch his fingertips. "Have you ever considered that my getting close to you, marrying you, was all planned? There are no coincidences, don't you think?"

Frowning, he sat up straight.

She felt a bit scared, lowering her gaze. "Ethan, let's get a divorce."

She believed that a divorce would give them a chance for a fresh start.

He remained silent for a long time before finally saying, "Okay."

He thought, 'Let's divorce. Our marriage has been a mutual temptation and use of each other from the beginning.'

He admitted that initially, he had only used her as a shield to annoy Howard and Carmen.

It wasn't fair to her.

She wanted to cry, turning away from him.

After a moment of silence, he pulled her into his arms, holding her tight. "When will you marry me again?"

Her body stiffed for a moment as she looked back at him. "If you still want to marry me, let's be together after resolving the issues with Howard and Carmen."

She really wanted to cry; it seemed she couldn't live without him now, which was clearly not a good thing.

If she lost him, she feared her whole world would collapse.

He agreed, holding her close. "Even if you don't need me, I can still live well, but I still hope you'll stay by my side."

She looked up at him. "Can I live well without you?"

She lacked that confidence; she was afraid.

When she first met him, she was even fearful and scared, wondering what she would do if he rejected her.

"Jasmine, your performance at the Cunningham Group, everyone sees it. Even without me, you're financially and emotionally independent. You can live well, but with me, you can live better," Ethan began to praise himself.

Her gaze trembled, and he made her smile. "So I can live independently."

"Jasmine, you're great. Be brave. Stand back in the spotlight, on your stage," he said, though he was also afraid.

Afraid of what Connor had told him.

She suffered from severe depression, resisting the past. Although treatments like MECT had helped her achieve initial clinical recovery, even the slightest trigger could send her back into hell and abyss.

He didn't want to see her fall apart.

Connor made him clear that if he couldn't accept her condition, he should stay away from her starting now.

He wouldn't give up on her, so he had to give her more care and attention than anyone else.

"I'll try," she said softly, grabbing his collar.

She would try to stand in the sunlight at this stage of her life.

Only then could she truly be equal with him, not dependent on each other.

"In any case, it's just getting a divorce certificate. If you dare to leave me, I'll grab you and lock you in my room," he threatened her with a smile.

She asked cautiously, "Even if I approached you with a purpose before, is it okay?"

"Yes, I'm honored to be chosen by you," he said, pinching her cheek. "But I believe you won't hurt me."

Nestled in his arms, her voice choked. She added,"I won't hurt you, nor will I let others hurt you. I'll protect you."

"You've been off these days. Is it because of Henry or someone else?" he asked cautiously.

She had been visibly off these days, even if he had come to ask if Henry had been bullying her.

"Connor is my therapist. He has helped me a lot, and I owe him a lot," she said softly,. "He seems to dislike you, but I don't know exactly what he wants to do to you."

Her palms were sweating nervously.

Frowning, he realized it was related to Connor. He asked, "Did he ask you to get close to me after you were released?"

"He said only you could protect me. He always told me that the only person who could protect me in Silverlight City was you, so I found a way to get close to you. He even helped me stir up the public opinion about the Browns before," she admitted, acknowledging that without Connor, she would have died long ago.

Connor had saved her more than once.

She wasn't afraid of Connor ruining her; she didn't want to owe him too much.

But no matter what, no matter how much Connor pressured her, she wouldn't hurt Ethan.

"Did he ask you to use me?" he was puzzled; he and Connor had no conflicts except for Olivia.

There needed to be more focus on Olivia from Connor's side.

What was he planning?

"You don't need to worry about him; I think he's strange," he said, getting angrier the more he thought about it.

She cautiously tugged at his fingers and inquired, "Are you angry?"

"I don't understand why he has these thoughts," he said, unable to understand.

With others, he could understand if it was about competition or past conflicts.

But with Connor, he had always thought they were friends.

"Don't be angry. I'll try to find out why he hates you," she planned to probe Connor.

Connor was a very smart and capable person, and she was afraid that if Connor really wanted to harm him...

Even without her involvement, Connor would surely find other ways to harm him.

He would have a sleepless night, recalling every experience he had with Connor from childhood to adulthood. He remembered how he used to call Connor a bookworm and scare him with bugs, but were these little things enough to make Connor plan so meticulously?

Rosewood Bistro.

The night was beautiful, and Annabelle was generous, always choosing upscale restaurants when dining with Connor.

Leaning back in his chair, he intertwined his long fingers, his smile hard to read.

Her fingers tightened around the cutlery as she smiled and spoke, "Connor, I heard you're Jasmine's therapist?"

"Yes," he nodded.

“Do we have a chance to collaborate?” Annabelle got straight to the point, wanting to see if he had any weaknesses.

"How would we collaborate?" he asked with a smile.

"I've already understood Jasmine's situation. She has severe depression and stress reactions. Once triggered, she can go crazy. You know her best and know how to provoke her. I just need her to lose control in public and give up on the cooperation I want," she said directly.

Looking at him, she continued, "I know you can help me. Tell me what you want; you can ask directly."
