Chapter 326 Annabelle Finds Herself in a Dilemma
Richard glanced at Betty. "A call from the hospital.."
"Let's go, I'll accompany you," Betty didn't stop Richard from going.
After all, Richard loved Aurora for many years.
Even now, Richard couldn't bring himself to be completely indifferent to Aurora.
Sometimes, emotions are like sand slipping through your fingers. The tighter you hold on, the more it slips away.
"First of all, Don't be angry when you go there. You can't take it out on me, and definitely not with the ring." Richard held Betty's hand and turned the ring on her finger. "If you take off the ring and run away, what will happen if you lose it? If you dare to throw the ring around in anger again, don't bother begging for forgiveness next time."
Betty ground her teeth after last night's heart-to-heart confession. Richard has been getting bolder since then, even daring to threaten her.
In the Cunningham family.
The family banquet was like a battlefield.
Everyone had their own schemes in mind.
Even Justin and The little guy had a plan.
Justin always wanted to be a knight to protect his parents.
The little guy always wanted to help his dad snatch Jasmine away.
As for Edgar, Nolan, and Edward, that's another story altogether.
Annabelle sat next to Coco, who was the only main seat in the Cunninghams except for Coco. Obviously, she had taken over and treated her as the owner.
"Jasmine, you're so thin. Eat more. Can't you get enough food with Ethan? You look too skinny," Annabelle said with a smile, getting up to fetch food for Jasmine.
Jasmine took the tray and thought, 'If I perform, I will do well too.' "No, recently I have gained a lot of weight. Ethan cooks really delicious food," she said.
Edgar almost choked on his drink. "Ethan could only make Egg Custard, Egg Onion Rings, and all sorts of dishes made with eggs."
Coco glared at Edgar. "Can you?"
Edgar shook his head with a sense of melancholy.
"Ethan, you are really amazing. You can cook so many dishes. Jasmine must be very happy to be with you," Coco said as she handed food to Ethan. She was starting to like Ethan more and more. She obviously really liked Ethan.
"Coco is too kind. I recently learned how to make Chicken and Waffles, so it won't be long before my menu is even more complete," Ethan boasted shamelessly.
"The dish is well prepared, Nolan. The chef you chose is quite good. There might be a chance for Ethan to learn from him in the future," Edward said with a meaningful expression, clearly warning Ethan to learn more and not let Jasmine get hungry.
"Luna, come over and eat with us," Nolan said, glancing at Luna standing in the distance.
"No... thanks," Luna quickly waved her hand. "Please enjoy your meal. If there's not enough, I'll make a few more."
Nolan glanced at Annabelle and thought Luna had been busy for so long. He suggested to Annabelle that inviting her over might be a better idea.
Clearly, Annabelle thought of Luna as a servant, not qualified to sit at the table and eat together. She saw Nolan's words as a courtesy, without any real reaction.
It was Jasmine who noticed Nolan's intention. "Coco, cooking is actually quite tiring and exhausting. Luna is really amazing. She made such a large spread of dishes."
Jasmine smiled at Coco. After all, she was a guest and couldn't just let Luna eat with them. She had to remind Coco.
Coco immediately understood it, and she smiled genuinely from the heart. "Jasmine is a kind child." Then she glanced at Luna and got up personally. "Your name is Luna, right? Come on and eat together. With such a big spread of dishes, there's no shortage of yours. Hurry up, there are not so many formalities in our family."
Luna was taken aback for a moment, feeling a bit touched. She couldn't refuse anymore, so she walked over, lowered her head, and silently sat down beside the two kids. "I'll take care of the two young masters' meal. You don't need to worry about me. Please go ahead and eat."
Justin noticed Luna looking uneasy and brought her some food. "Here you go, AuntLuna."
Luna's heart melted. 'This little warm-hearted guy will be excellent in the future.' she thought.
Originally, she was a bit wary of Jasmine, but she ended up being captivated by the children.
"Thank you."
Luna's voice was slightly hoarse, not because she was being dramatic. From childhood to adulthood, besides her grandfather, no one has truly cared for her.
"Hey, Aunt Luna, did you make this? It's delicious." The little guy also knows how to eat and compliment at the same time.
Luna was touched, eating her vegetables quietly with her head down.
"Jasmine, I heard that Ethan was starting a business in Silverlight City, but the company wasn't doing very well. Mrs. Everhart and my mom are good friends, and they always research the company's situation before choosing to invest. It seems like Ethan's company doesn't quite meet the standards," Annabelle spoke up directly, hoping to get Coco's help in securing the Everharts’ investment.
Whenever Coco speaks, the Everharts was certain to oblige.
Coco seemed didn't quite understand, saying lightly, "Every business needs to lay a foundation. If the foundation isn't solid, tall buildings cann’t be erected. Those who do venture capital are essentially placing bets on these new companies. If they win, it's a huge profit; if they lose, it's just a loss of investment."
Annabelle's fingers tightened around the forks in her hand. "Mom, I think Mr. Everhart is more inclined to invest in my project with Daniel, especially since we have the backing of the Douglas family group."
Annabelle told Coco straightforwardly when she realized she didn't understand.
She is Coco's daughter. Coco couldn't help an outsider instead of helping her, right?
"When Coco met Mr. Everhart, Ethan talked about the market demand and prospects for future new energy. Mr. Everhart was very interested, and Annabelle, being generous, gave us the opportunity," Jasmine said with a smile.
Annabelle focused intently. "Jasmine, blood is thicker than water, especially since we've clashed on ideas this time. I still think I should give it a shot."
Coco nodded. "You young people, having passion and competitiveness in entrepreneurship is a good thing. The Everharts has been very visionary in the venture capital field for so many years. Compete fairly. Take your own plans over. In the end, whoever the Everharts chooses, don't let it affect your friendship. Friendship comes first, competition comes second."
Coco came clean directly. I don't care; you guys can compete however you want.
Annabelle was so angry that her throat was almost bleeding.
'Doesn't mom care? What should we do then? Ethan's abilities always seem to surpass Daniel's, that loser...' she pondered.
"Mom, I still feel..."
"Annabelle, Mom believes in you. You are my daughter, and none of the Cunninghams children are incompetent. Look at Nolan, taking over the company at twenty-two. At that time, Edward hadn't even graduated and couldn't help much. I was sick, and the entire company was on his shoulders. I thought he wouldn't do well, and I never blamed him, but in less than a year, he had the company running smoothly."
Coco interrupted Annabelle, praising Nolan and putting Annabelle on a pedestal.
So, that means meant she was Coco's daughter, and she must earn cooperation based on her true abilities.
"So, I believe in you. You must be able to do it. As long as your ideas and plans are outstanding enough, the Everharts will definitely not be stingy, especially since you and Daniel have the backing of the Douglas Group; the odds are even greater." Coco was really praising you up.
If Annabelle loses lost, she would be extremely embarrassed.
