Chapter 286 Ethan Says These Men Should All Die
Willian is also Cordelia's husband, at least legally speaking.
However, Willian had an affair over twenty years ago. When Cordelia was pregnant, it caused her to have a premature birth and nearly lost her life.
Afterward, Cordelia suffered from depression for a long time. But instead of realizing his mistakes, Willian went even further and started living with his mistress openly, publicly acknowledging their relationship. Though he didn't marry her, he spoiled her excessively and brought her along wherever he went.
People in Country M's business community all know that the relationship between Willian and Cordelia has long been distant, and they only stayed married for the sake of the family and the company. In reality, he already had a mistress.
And this Sophia is the mistress that Willian publicly acknowledges.
Seeing Willian bringing Sophia with him, Cordelia's complexion turned gloomy as she tightly clenched her hands.
Nolan furrowed his brows and signaled Edgar to take care of Cordelia before getting up and walking over. "If you don't have an invitation, then get out."
Sophia's eyes turned red as she hid behind Willian. "Willian, Nolan is not giving you any face in front of all these people."
Willian spoke in a low voice. "You don't get to call the shots in this family."
Lowering his voice, Nolan replied, "If you don't want more people to know about this ugly affair, then leave with her."
William sneered. "It was your mother who asked me to come back. Do you think I came willingly?"
Nolan wanted to say something, but Cordelia interrupted. "Since you're here, you're a guest. Have a seat."
Sophia smirked provocatively, holding onto William's arm as she walked over and sat next to the main seat.
"What qualifications do you have to sit here?" Edgar, not one to indulge her, kicked the chair, almost kicking Sophia out.
William shielded Sophia with his hand and gave Edgar a cold glare. "Ill-mannered thing."
"Yeah, my dad died early, so it's only natural I'm ill-mannered, right?" Edgar picked his ears.
Mitchell and Ethan also returned, feeling somewhat surprised to see William.
The head of the Cunningham Family hadn't returned to Silverlight City in many years.
"Edgar, who is he?" Mitchell walked over and deliberately asked.
"Don't know." Edgar deliberately retorted.
"I thought he was your dead dad, you even look similar." Mitchell smiled and spoke.
"Hey, stop kidding, it's creepy." Edgar raised an eyebrow at Mitchell. "Since you're such a loyal friend, let's forget about the streaking incident. Whoever mentions it again is a dog."
Mitchell couldn't be bothered with Edgar.
Ethan walked up to Wilson and spoke quietly. "May got hit by a car. The police are investigating and handling it."
Wilson looked at Ethan in surprise. "Is she alright?"
After all, she was 'supposedly' her mother.
"We don't know the situation yet." Ethan shook his head regretfully.
Howard wanted May dead.
"It seems like May and Serena both know things they shouldn't." Wilson always felt that Serena and May were quite alike. They had evil intentions but weren't very smart about it.
Compared to Annabelle, May and Serena lacked intelligence.
“I suspect Serena is May’s biological daughter, the illegitimate child of the Xu Family. We’ll soon find out the truth.” Ethan held Wilson’s hand.
Wilson lowered his head, tears welling up in his eyes.
If Serena really was May and Benjamin’s daughter, then whose daughter, was she?
The Xu family’s?
But they had done a paternity test back then.
Whose child was she?
“You are mine,” Ethan realized he had said the wrong thing and squeezed Wilson’s hand. “You are mine, my wife.”
Wilson chuckled lightly and nodded obediently. “Mm.”
“Did you see that person? That’s the head of the Cunningham Family, William,” Ethan told Wilson. “The woman sitting next to him is his mistress Sophia.”
Wilson furrowed her brows, not having a good impression of this Sophia. It was difficult for her to assess someone who crossed moral boundaries and destroyed other people’s families.
“Why does William dare to openly bring his mistress to various events?” Wilson didn’t quite understand.
“Although William is no longer directly managing the affairs of the Cunningham Family, he is still the head of the family. Cordelia is the only one with the authority to make decisions as long as she doesn’t divorce him. This is to protect the family’s shares. In other words, she is a pitiful woman bound to the Cunningham Family for her entire life by gratitude and maternal love,” Ethan whispered, expressing his admiration for Cordelia.
“I heard that Cordelia and William signed an agreement that as long as they don’t divorce, all of the Cunningham Family’s company shares will be given to their son and daughter. As for what William wants to do, Cordelia won’t interfere.”
“He is too arrogant, and this Sophia is shameless. What does she have to be proud of as a mistress?” Wilson quietly complained.
“Because he still holds part of the shares. That portion of the shares is the one that was meant to be given to their missing daughter according to the agreement. William was indeed marginalized, but because his daughter has yet to be found, he has held onto that portion of shares. Cordelia also worried that William would harm her daughter for the sake of these shares.”
Wilson nodded.
The battles between prominent families always took unexpected turns. Because their daughter had yet to be found, William continued to hold onto that portion of the shares. If their daughter was never found or if her death was confirmed, William would claim that portion of shares for himself and Sophia's daughter and could distribute them openly.
"Sophia and Willian have an illegitimate daughter. Willian's father, who was alive at the time, was firm in his stance and did not allow this child to enter the Cunningham family's household. He also did not permit the child to bear the Cunningham surname. Therefore, this illegitimate daughter shares the same surname as Sophia and has been living with them."
It can be said that Willian gave all his affection to this illegitimate daughter, whom he had with his mistress.
Currently, he desires to pass on the shares originally belonging to the Cunningham family heiress to this illegitimate daughter.
"Cordelia, it turns out, is also a pitiful person. Having lost her daughter, she is constantly living in fear." Upon hearing this, Wilson knew immediately that Cordelia's daughter had been secretly replaced. He believed it was not a coincidence but an intentional act.
Someone had deliberately orchestrated it.
And the ones benefiting from it were Sophia and her daughter.
No wonder Cordelia's depression had worsened over the years. Not only could she not find her daughter, but her husband's mistress was too brazen and her husband himself was a heartless man.
Whether or not he truly loved her, Cordelia, being such a formidable woman, would endure immense suffering because of a man like him.
Her entire life was tied to the Cunningham family.
How helpless and suffocated she must have felt.
Fortunately, Cordelia managed to find her biological daughter.
Although Wilson did not like Annabelle, she couldn't help but feel relieved for Cordelia.
Ethan glanced at Wilson and reached out to hold her hand.
He didn't know how to provide comfort to Wilson. "These bastards deserve to die."
Wilson was taken aback, feeling a heavy sorrow. Howard was also one of those bastards after all.
Ethan's mother was killed by the joint efforts of Claire and Howard.
