Chapter 390 Social Party made Annabelle feel awkward

"You come here in the middle of the night to scare people," Ethan said,

"I..." Nolan clenched his fingers, his voice hoarse and low. "I want to talk to Jasmine."

Ethan looked at Jasmine. "Do you want to talk to him?"

Jasmine hugged Ethan tightly and shook her head.

Even though she knew Nolan had a sharp tongue but a kind heart, his past words had hurt her. She didn't want to talk to him now.

"If you don't forgive me, I'll wait downstairs until you want to see me," Nolan said softly, lacking confidence this time.

Ethan gave Nolan a disdainful look. This was an apology, not a threat.

Jasmine buried her head in Ethan's neck, refusing to talk to Nolan alone.

"Jasmine, I admit I said a lot of hurtful things before. I've thought about making it up to you. You said that if I successfully land Raymond's project, you want me to give you a house. I've already picked one out. I wanted to give it to you before but never had the chance," Nolan said nervously,

He wanted Jasmine to give him a chance to make amends and explain.

Nolan was really tormented now, wishing he could slap himself.

He regretted it deeply and didn't know how to express it.

When Jasmine heard about the house, she thought she could save on rent.

She immediately got down from Ethan and said arrogantly, "Where's the house?"

Ethan stifled a laugh. Jasmine could forgive anything when money was involved.

Nolan was flattered and looked at Jasmine nervously. "Jasmine,Crystal Mansion on Sunset Boulevard."

Jasmine looked at Nolan in shock. "Crystal Mansion on Sunset Boulevard, a mansion worth over a hundred million dollars?"

Nolan nodded.

Jasmine covered her mouth, trying to calm her excitement. "Is it for me?"

"I bought it for you," Nolan said cautiously,

Jasmine thought for a moment. "Okay, I forgive you."

Nolan was stunned, unable to react for a while, looking at Ethan.

Jasmine said she forgave him.

After all the wrong things he had done, Jasmine was going to forgive him.

It was too easy.

Nolan's back tensed, feeling uneasy and a bit panicked.

Presumably, Jasmine had no intention of recognizing him as her brother. She was too distant, and he yearned for his sister's affection.
At the party.

Annabelle's face didn't look good, but she still came.

"Ms. Harper." the party organizer awkwardly stopped Annabelle. "Our invitation was sent to the Cunningham family's daughter..."

Annabelle was stopped at the door, unable to keep her composure.

Behind her, people waiting to enter were watching the scene.

"Did you hear? She was photographed on a date with a man last night."

"I heard she's not really the Cunningham family's daughter. It's a lie."

Annabelle clenched her hands, her hatred so intense that her body trembled slightly.

This kind of humiliating disgrace was something she had never experienced before.

This was all because of the Cunningham family, Cordelia, and Jasmine!
Jasmine, just you waited!
Annabelle gritted her teeth and spoke in a low voice. "The Cunningham's daughter is no big deal. They screwed up the paternity test, and I shouldn't be the one to pay the price. The fault lies with the Cunningham family; I am also a victim. I will demand their apology."
The staff exchanged glances, contemplating how to handle the situation.
"Moreover, even if I'm not a Cunningham, I am still the wife of the Douglas Group’s president. My husband is Daniel Douglas, and I have the right to enter."
The staff nodded and quickly let her through. "Sorry, Ms. Harper."
"The mistake in the paternity test is not the fault of the Cunningham family." Inside the door, Fiona wore a shimmering pink spaghetti strap dress, her long hair slightly curled, and large pearl earrings adorned her ears. Her face was exquisitely beautiful and dignified.
"You, someone who was mistakenly taken, have no right to question me," Annabelle said in a low voice, still exuding a powerful aura.
"How shameless, everyone saw it, and you still have the nerve to attend the party." Fiona rolled her eyes and approached Annabelle in high heels. "Annabelle, stop pretending. You are so shameless. The paternity test result is fake, and you know it better than anyone."
"Don't slander me. I am still the daughter-in-law of the Douglas family. If you offend the Douglas family, you won't survive in the entertainment industry!" Annabelle threatened Fiona.
She was just someone who was mistakenly taken, and Cordelia didn't like her. Cordelia was wary and suspicious of her background. Offending the Douglas family would make it difficult for her to navigate the entertainment industry.
"Even if I was mistakenly taken, at least I am upright and have a clear conscience! I haven't done anything to harm others, nor have I pretended to be innocent," Fiona said, flipping her hair before walking away.
"Fiona, don't be arrogant! You are also a victim of being mistakenly taken by the Cunningham family, and yet you still speak for them. You are truly despicable." Annabelle blocked Fiona.
"The Cunningham family hasn't treated you well over the years. Cordelia never considered you one of her own."
Fiona looked at Annabelle. "What are you trying to say?"
"Fiona, as far as I know, after Cordelia found out you weren't her daughter, she immediately handed you over to the butler to be raised. That is humiliating," Annabelle said, trying to provoke Fiona.
"We are on the same side. We should unite and face the outside world together." Annabelle looked at Fiona. Even though she was furious, she needed to recruit allies.
Although Fiona wasn't very famous in the entertainment industry, she had some influence. If she could join forces with Annabelle against the Cunningham family, Annabelle could protect her reputation.
Fiona looked at Annabelle in surprise. "What? You are really a fool."
Annabelle frowned.
Fiona laughed and spoke again. "It's ridiculous. I was mistakenly taken, and both the Cunningham family and I are victims. From Mrs. Cunningham's perspective, after finding out I wasn't her daughter, she couldn't bear to abandon me. She didn't send me to a welfare institution but instead placed me under the care of the butler. I had the same food, clothing, and living conditions as the three heirs of the Cunningham family, and I even received more favoritism. I shouldn't be on the same side as you."

Fiona was so angry that she laughed. "Annabelle, are you out of your mind!"

"Fiona!" Annabelle was furious.

A few people nearby quickly rushed over to protect Annabelle. "Annabelle, why bother with these people? They are only loyal to those who feed them."

Annabelle sneered. "Even if I'm a Cunningham, I'm still the wife of the Douglas family."

Fiona glared at her. "Wow, Daniel is so good to you, yet you still go on dates with other men at night. How shameless."

"Fiona! You better take responsibility for what you said," Annabelle threatened coldly,

Fiona chuckled and ignored Annabelle.

"Annabelle, we don't care about the Cunningham family. They made a mistake with the paternity test and tried to ruin your reputation. We can't just let them get away with it."

"Exactly, Annabelle. You're at least the heiress of the Harper family and Daniel's wife," someone flattered her, deliberately shifting the blame onto the Cunningham family in front of the reporters at the door.

"Ms. Annabelle, is it true that the Cunningham family made a mistake with the paternity test?" a reporter quickly asked.

"Yes, I didn't participate in the paternity test. It was their request, and they informed me of the results," Annabelle said, playing the victim.

"Annabelle, that's not what you said at home!" From a distance, Zelda directly contradicted Annabelle, walking over in high heels.
