Chapter 272 Ethan is Justin's father.

"Wilson, President is looking for you."

Wilson lowered his head, looking guilty, and entered the office.

"When did I mention team-building?" Nolan gritted his teeth and spoke.

Wilson took a deep breath and stood straight. "President, the employees have been working overtime for the project and there's some resentment. Organizing a team-building activity is to unite the employees and improve work efficiency."

Nolan reluctantly smiled. "No wonder you're the President's assistant. You always think considerately on behalf of the boss."

"You're overpraising me, boss. There's no need to give me a bonus for the Westing Town project," Wilson reminded Nolan. The Westing Town project had a bonus.

Nolan's mouth twitched. "Jackson, go to the finance department for approval."

The secretary nodded with a smile. "Sure thing."

Wilson blinked politely with her bright eyes. "Boss, you're too kind. I'm just here to help."

The meaning behind her words was, if you want to give me a bonus, I'll continue working. If you don't want to give me a bonus, I'll treat it as helping and leave.

Nolan's eye twitched as well. "Go collect your bonus."

Wilson bowed ninety degrees to Nolan. "Yes, President Li. Thank you, President Li. I'll bring you food tomorrow."

Nolan hummed.

Wilson turned around and rushed to the finance department, afraid that Nolan would change his mind.

The person in charge of the finance department was also very efficient. After deducting taxes and completing the approval process, she directly transferred the money to Wilson.

Wilson checked her balance on her phone and counted happily. She finally had money and could support her brother and Justin.

Finding Ethan's WeChat, Wilson generously sent him a 10,000 yuan transfer. [I'm repaying the money.]

Ethan replied, [Send more on May 20th.]

Wilson's cheeks turned red as he gave Ethan a $520 red envelope.

Ethan accepted the $520, as well as the $10,000.

If he didn't accept, Wilson would always feel indebted to him.

But soon, Ethan transferred back $131,400.

Wilson was taken aback. [I don't want it.]

[You don't love me,] Ethan sent a crying emoji.

Wilson felt a little flustered.

[I already accepted the $520,] Ethan sent again. [My wife is so amazing, she secured the Westing Town project for the Cunningham Family, so of course there should be a reward.]

Wilson hesitated and was afraid to accept.

[Anyway, tomorrow all my assets will be transferred to your name to avoid the recent crisis I encountered,] Ethan added.

Wilson worried. [Did Howard and Claire take action?]

[Yeah, I'm so pitiful,] Ethan feigned sadness.

Wilson felt extremely sorry for him. [And me too.]

She would work hard to earn money to support Ethan.

After receiving Ethan's money, it took a long time for Wilson's ears to cool down.

She and Ethan. Were they in love?

Marriage first, then love?

Regardless of whether it was her illusion, Wilson truly felt happy now.
She hoped this happiness could always be with her.

‘Ring-ring.’

Still in her happy daze, Wilson covered her blushing cheeks.

Her phone rang, it was Richard calling.

With joy, Wilson picked up the phone, intending to tell her brother about the bonus she received, but before she could speak, he said, "Wilson. Can you come to the hospital? The kindergarten called me, saying Justin fainted today. I'm already at the hospital, and the doctor wants to see you and Justin's dad."

Justin's condition required his father's cooperation for treatment.

They couldn't delay any longer.

Startled, Wilson stood up, her face turning pale as she stammered, "Brother. Brother, I'll… I'll come right now."

"Wilson, call Henry," Richard whispered.

Wilson murmured, "Okay."

After hanging up the phone, Wilson hurriedly walked towards the President's office. It wasn't time to leave work yet, so she needed to ask for leave.

But she had just received her bonus.

"Do you need something?" Nolan happened to come out and noticed Wilson with red eyes, furrowing his brows. "Did you cry out of excitement for receiving the bonus?"

"President, can I take a leave? My son is sick," Wilson nervously asked.

Nolan glanced at the time. "Come on, I'll take you there," he said.

Wilson was taken aback, not expecting Nolan to personally accompany her.

"What are you waiting for? Let's go," Nolan furrowed his brow.

Wilson quickly nodded and nervously followed behind Nolan.

On the way to the hospital, Wilson gathered her courage and called Henry.

Henry picked up quickly. "Wilson."

"Henry, can you come to the city? Justin had a relapse and we need you to cooperate with the examination," Wilson pleaded, on the verge of tears.

In reality, Wilson understood that as long as Justin received proper treatment, he would be fine. However, if they couldn't find a good treatment plan, his life would be in danger.

On the other end of the call, Henry fell silent. It took a while before he finally spoke. "Wilson."

Wilson thought Henry was about to refuse. "Henry, please, Justin is also your son. I beg you, save him. If you want to take him away from me, I'm willing. Please."

Wilson was almost begging Henry, her voice choked with tears.

On the other end of the call, Henry still didn't respond.

Wilson anxiously waited for Henry's answer.

From the rearview mirror, Nolan glanced at Wilson and furrowed his brow slightly.

Her son was Henry's, yet she had married Ethan. This woman was truly surprising.

Despite the contempt in his heart, Nolan increased the speed of the car. Subconsciously, he still worried that Wilson would be anxious on the way.

"Wilson, there's something I've been meaning to tell you," Henry knew he couldn't hide it any longer.

He wanted to be with Wilson, but he couldn't let his own selfishness harm their child.

Henry knew that Ben was right, if his selfishness caused Justin's condition to worsen, he and Wilson would never be able to reconcile for the rest of their lives.

Wilson gripped her phone nervously.

"I am not Justin's father, I'm sorry," Henry finally confessed.

Wilson stiffly sat in the car seat, feeling cold all over.

"I wanted to keep you with me, so I lied," Henry spoke again.

"What do you mean?" Wilson's voice stuttered, tears uncontrollably streaming down. "Justin's condition has worsened, he needs his father's cooperation for treatment. Please, don't lie."

Henry's heart was in agony. "Wilson, please don't cry. I'm on my way to Silverlight City now, but I truly am not Justin's biological father. It happened six years ago. The person who hurt you was not me, it was Ethan."

Wilson's breath hitched, and her phone slipped from her hand.
She looked at her hands blankly, taking a long time to react.

What?

What did Henry just say?

He must be lying.

He must be lying for sure.

Six years ago.

That night was like hell for Wilson.

In these six years, she has never truly let go.

But Henry said it was Ethan.

Wilson felt her mind go blank in an instant.

She could barely think, and she couldn't breathe.

"Wilson?" Nolan turned to look at Wilson when he noticed something was off.

He slammed on the brakes and parked the car on the side of the road.

Wilson was crying. Her face was as pale as a ghost.

At that moment, Nolan felt that Wilson was like a soulless zombie, and it inexplicably pierced his heart.
