Chapter 387 Annabelle Was Not Your Sister, Jasmine Was

In a moment of panic, Willian instinctively turned his head to see Cordelia standing at the door, staring at him fiercely.

Remembering when she had just married Willian, she was gentle and a bit timid like Jasmine, appearing weak and easy to bully.

Later on...

Willian frowned, not understanding how she had turned into what she was now.

"Take this; it's what your grandmother left for you." Willian's voice softened unconsciously.

Jasmine looked at Cordelia.

Jasmine didn't want to take things from Willian.

For once, Cordelia refrained from cursing and simply asked, "The things left by mother are for my daughter. When Annabelle pretended to be my daughter and came back, why didn't you bring them? Trying to keep them for yourself?"

"You..." Willian took a deep breath in frustration. "Can't you speak more politely? When Annabelle came back, I could tell right away she wasn't my daughter. Shouldn't I have examined Annabelle for a few days?"

Everyone in the Cunningham family found it extremely ironic.

Willian seemed to realize he had no stake anymore and was trying to regain everyone's attention.

Edward leaned against the door frame, staring at Willian, but said nothing.

Shamelessness manifested vividly in Willian.

"Jasmine, this is what your grandmother left for you; take it," Cordelia spoke softly,

Jasmine nodded and reached for the box.

"When you gave Jasmine your favorite set of jewelry at the celebration, I had a hunch because she looks so much like you," Willian said in a deep voice, "Since you don't welcome me, I'll leave."

Willian emphasized once again, hoping someone would stop him.

However, no one welcomed him.

So, Willian left in anger.

It was what he deserved.

When he was young, he didn't treat his wife and children well. Now that he was older and wanted a family reunion, how could that be so easy?

Willian wasn't deserving of it.

Cordelia was very upset, approaching Jasmine and holding her hand. "Jasmine."

Jasmine lowered her head, her heart beating fast.

She still hadn't fully accepted her identity.

"I'm sorry. I knew your identity a long time ago, but I couldn't tell you right away." Cordelia choked up, almost unable to speak.

Jasmine looked at Cordelia with hot eyes, shaking her head.

She couldn't offer comfort; she just unconsciously reached out and hugged Cordelia.

Perhaps there truly was a telepathic connection between mother and daughter.

As long as Jasmine was with Cordelia, she felt at peace.

"These years have been hard on you, my daughter." Cordelia cried uncontrollably.

It was as if all the suppressed emotions of many years were pouring out in that moment.

Since learning that her daughter had been replaced, Cordelia hadn't slept peacefully for a single night.

She was often tormented by nightmares, disturbed by them.

Postpartum depression had Cordelia living in pain and torment every day.

This hug from Jasmine seemed to sweep away all the darkness from Cordelia.

Her daughter, through this silent embrace, was telling her. "I don't blame you, Mom."

Jasmine also cried silently, but her tears were scalding hot.

Six years.

Jasmine had endured six years of a bleak existence.

Finally, it seemed like she could see the sunlight.

Perhaps the six years of suffering were meant to lead her to her biological mother.

Everything was worth it.

"Let Jasmine and Cordelia have a good chat." Ethan walked over to Edward's side, and they left the courtyard.

Just as they stepped out of the inner courtyard, they saw Edgar carrying Justin on his shoulder, holding Joe's hand, bringing the two children back from kindergarten.

"Why aren't you two going inside? What are you doing?" Edgar asked.

"Why go inside? Let the kids play at the door for a while." Edward grabbed Edgar and took Joe to the door.

"What? Mom asked me to bring the two kids back, saying there was something important to announce; it sounded urgent; why are you dragging me?" Edgar felt like Ethan and Edward had gone crazy.

"Not now," Edward smirked.

Edgar felt a chill down his spine. "Edward, stop smiling like that, it's creepy."

Edward ignored Edgar and chatted with Ethan. "You and Jasmine have divorced; what's the next step?"

"I won't take advantage of the Cunningham family's benefits. Everything given by the Cunningham family belongs to Jasmine as her pre-marital property; I won't interfere." This was also why Ethan agreed to the divorce, to prove himself.

Otherwise, shamelessly going to Henry and throwing money in his face wouldn't make Jasmine divorce him.

"What?" Edgar only heard the word 'divorce,' not understanding the rest. "Divorce? Jasmine actually divorced you! You scoundrel, what did you do?"

Edgar was getting worked up. "Good that she's divorced; once she's divorced, she'll be mine! I'll marry her."

Edgar wanted to find Jasmine.

Ethan mocked him, watching Edgar as if he were a fool.

Just waiting to see Edgar's expression in a moment.

On the side, Justin nervously tugged at Ethan's sleeve, speaking softly with a choked voice, "Dad, you don't want me and Mom anymore?"

Ethan felt a pang in his heart and quickly picked up Justin. "Don't listen to Edgar's nonsense, Mom is going to change her name, we're divorcing now to start fresh with a new name, Dad still owes Mom a proposal and a wedding."

Justin sniffled, holding onto Ethan tightly. "Dad, please don't reject me."

Growing up in an environment without security, Richard had protected Justin well, but without a mother, he was still too sensitive.

Ethan was grateful he found Justin relatively early, and he would do everything to make up for the childhood his two children had missed.

"Dad will never reject Justin and Joe," Ethan vowed with a choked voice.

Joe held Edgar's hand, also holding onto Ethan cautiously. "Can I have both dads? Can Mom marry both of you?"

During this time, Joe had grown fond of Ethan, but he was too shy to say it out loud.

Edward chuckled at Joe's words, finding it amusing that Jasmine was being courted by two husbands.

Ethan squatted down, hugging Joe as well.

"A dad can only have one, but an uncle can have several." Ethan provocatively looked at Edgar.

"Ethan! You're so malicious, you're even stealing my son." Edgar watched Ethan warily, sensing something wasn't right.

He felt like Ethan was here tonight to steal his son.

"What are you all doing here?" Nolan entered the car, his face dark. "Having a meeting at the door? Why not go inside?"

Edward cleared his throat. "Go inside. Mom said she wants to have a family meeting."

Nolan had just entered the inner courtyard when he saw Jasmine furrowing his brows and then looking at Ethan. "Having a family meeting. Why are Ethan and Jasmine, who aren't part of the family, here?"

Edward really wanted Nolan to shut up. "Outsiders? Who's the outsider?"

"Ethan and Jasmine, aren't they outsiders?" Nolan was still upset that Jasmine had blocked him.

"You talk too much; come in!" Over there, Cordelia wiped her tears, holding Jasmine's hand and scolding Nolan.

Nolan was stunned, extremely shocked.

"Annabelle is not your sister; Jasmine is," Cordelia said in a deep voice.
