Chapter 434 Arnold Claimed Sophia was a Lunatic
Arnold realized what was happening, nodded, and grabbed the wheelchair from Derek's hands, pushing it himself. "You don't need to follow."
Derek felt helpless. He had been following Arnold for over twenty years and had been disliked by him for just as long.
In contrast, his brother Dominic, who was a bodyguard, was highly valued by Mr. Sanders, which made Derek very jealous.
"Derek, why do you look so gloomy? Did the boss scold you again?" Dominic asked as he came out of the restroom, he couldn't find the boss.
Derek sneered and pointed to the elevator. "He is already downstairs. You better hurry up."
Derek intentionally sent Dominic away.
Mr. Sanders was currently infatuated with love and didn't want to see him, so he sent Dominic instead.
When the time came, Mr. Sanders would definitely scold Dominic, and that would make Derek happy.
Downstairs.
Arnold pushed the wheelchair himself, sat down with his long legs, and headed towards the door.
"Mr. Sanders, that lady claims to be your wife," the receptionist said as she approached.
Arnold's eyes lit up with excitement, but his face quickly darkened when he saw who it was.
It was Sophia.
She actually dared to come see him.
With a grim expression, Arnold turned the wheelchair around to leave.
But Sophia blocked his way quickly. "Guadalupe, let's talk."
Seeing Arnold in a wheelchair, Sophia was momentarily stunned and somewhat regretful. She wished she had known Guadalupe was Arnold earlier.
Quickly regaining her composure, Sophia said, "Guadalupe, what happened to you? How did you get so injured that you need a wheelchair? There's no one to take care of you. Let me take care of you."
Arnold glanced around and saw Dominic coming out of the elevator. He immediately shouted, "Dominic, there's a lunatic here. Get her out of here."
Dominic quickly stepped forward, shielding Mr. Sanders, and said coldly, "What's going on? How did a lunatic get in here?"
Sophia's face turned pale, but she gritted her teeth and held back. "Guadalupe, I really have something to tell you. There are too many misunderstandings between us. Please listen to me."
Seeing the darkness in his eyes, Sophia felt a tightness in her chest. She was actually a bit scared.
But Sophia knew she wouldn't be harmed. "Guadalupe, no matter how much you hate me, it doesn't change the fact that we're married. We had a wedding, and our families know about it. Even though we didn't get a marriage certificate, but—"
"What are you all standing around for? She's a lunatic," Arnold said with a grim face.
Dominic understood. "You're doing this on purpose. Our Mr. Sanders has been single for years and doesn't have any women around him. You're dreaming."
With that, he directly threw her out.
Sophia fell to the ground in a mess, gritting her teeth as she looked at Arnold. "Arnold, after I left you, I found out I was pregnant. We have a child."
Arnold felt annoyed, thinking it was bad luck to be targeted by Sophia.
In an instant, he dropped all pretense, stood up from the wheelchair, and said coldly, "Call the police and say there's a lunatic."
"Arnold, you can't do this to me. I had your child, Arnold!" Sophia shouted hysterically.
Arnold's face remained grim, completely unmoved.
The receptionist began to gossip, "She must be the lunatic escaped from a sanatorium."
"And she claimed to be Mr. Sanders' wife. I saw her wearing expensive clothes and thought it was true, but it turns out she's a lunatic."
The police arrived quickly and took away the still-shouting Sophia.
Sophia looked very disheveled, and the police, seeing her in such a state, really thought she had escaped from a mental hospital and promptly forced her into the police car.
With her hair in disarray, Sophia looked at Arnold and gritted her teeth. "Arnold, I'm not lying to you. We have a child together. If you don't believe me, you can do a paternity test."
Arnold waved his hand dismissively. "Just take her away. She's annoying me."
As the police car drove off, Arnold was surprised to see Cordelia, who had appeared out of nowhere.
"Cordelia," he called out with guilty, realizing he had left his wheelchair behind after running a few steps.
Realizing this, he immediately whispered to Dominic, "Wheelchair! Wheelchair."
Cordelia leaned against her car, having watched the entire scene. She looked at Arnold with a half-smile. "Mr. Sanders, your leg seems to have healed quite quickly. You told me you broke a leg and couldn't walk. Were you lying to me?"
Today, Cordelia hadn't contacted Arnold at all. Instead, Arnold had messaged her, complaining about his leg pain.
Cordelia was worried so she decided to come and check on his leg, only to find Arnold walking around.
"Cordelia," Arnold said nervously, sitting back in the wheelchair and approaching her. "When did you get here?"
"I've been here since Sophia said she was your wife and that she had a child with you," Cordelia replied in a low, distant voice.
Arnold felt a tightness in his chest and took a deep breath. "Cordelia, let me explain."
"Our relationship doesn't require an explanation," Cordelia said flatly, glancing at Arnold's leg. "Since Mr. Sanders' legs are no longer in pain, I'll be leaving now."
Cordelia got into her car and shut the door.
Arnold now hated Sophia intensely.
"Cordelia, let me explain. Sophia and I—" Arnold got out of the wheelchair to chase after her.
But Cordelia's driver had already started the car.
Arnold took a few steps, thinking Cordelia was giving him a chance to explain when her car stopped.
Cordelia's car reversed back, and she rolled down the window.
She nonchalantly tossed a box of medicine into Arnold's arms and said coldly, "I bought some medicine for you, Mr. Sanders, so you don't die from the pain. Remember to transfer me the money, $38."
Arnold looked down at the medicine in his arms, he thought, 'she still cares about me.'
"Mr. Sanders, are you alright?" Dominic ran over.
The shadow for seeing Sophia disappeared, Arnold's mood improved, and he patted Dominic on the shoulder. "You did well. Next time you see that crazy woman, don't hesitate. Call the police immediately."
Dominic nodded.
Derek, who had just run out and saw Mr. Sanders praising Dominic, felt his heart ache and eagerly asked, "Mr. Sanders, did the lady leave?"
He thought that calling Cordelia "lady" would earn him some praise from Arnold.
But Arnold's face instantly darkened. "Next time, before I come downstairs, make sure the person downstairs isn't a lunatic. Can't you handle such a simple task?"
Derek was bewildered, not knowing where he had gone wrong.
Dominic was also confused. "Derek, it was quite dangerous just now. Didn't you see? A woman claiming to be Mr. Sanders' wife was actually a lunatic and got taken away by the police."
Derek's mouth twitched in fear.
It turned out she was a lunatic.
