Chapter 768 Lisa and Raymond's Missed Connection
"What do you want to do?" Jasmine looked at Lisa nervously.
"As long as Mark is not caught, everyone will be on edge," Lisa smiled. "I have to make him pay for his actions."
Jasmine instinctively grabbed Lisa's arm. "Don't do anything foolish. You still have Casey, and he's so young."
"Don't pity me. I don't need anyone's pity," Lisa said again. "This is my choice."
It was her way to redemption.
"Please don't see Casey as a burden, I will help you deal with Mark. Please, take good care of Casey," Lisa choked up.
Jasmine frowned. "Since you chose to come here, you must trust Ethan and me."
Lisa nodded. "I don't know who to trust anymore, except you. I know you won't harm Casey."
If Casey stayed with Jordan, she won't be able to ease.
"Don't worry, I'll take good care of Casey. I advise you to think twice before acting," Jasmine whispered, handing the already sleeping Ellie to the nanny.
Luckily, Jasmine's house was big enough, it had become a children's playground.
There were Indigo, Ellie, Casey, Joe, Justin.
Fortunately, Jasmine loved children, and Cordelia and Evelina also adored these kids.
Now that these strong women were older and ready to retire, they had found a new joy in life, that's raising children.
"Thank you. When Ethan comes back, don't tell him about my decision," Lisa knew she couldn't hide it, but she would be gone before Ethan returned.
Jasmine was a bit uneasy. "Lisa! Think it through."
Lisa didn't look back and walked away quickly.
Having entrusted Casey, she felt relieved.
Downstairs, Lisa dialed the number.
Mark actually answered. "Lisa? What's wrong?"
Lisa burst into tears. "Dad, I got divorced."
That probably touched a soft spot in Mark's heart.
After all, no father could resist his daughter's aggrieved cries?
"You should have divorced long ago. Jordan is not a good man! I should have killed him before I left," Mark said angrily. "I was against you marrying Jordan from the start." He sighed and said no more.
"Dad, they've pushed me too far. I can't stay in Silverlight City anymore," Lisa cried.
There was a long silence on the other end before Mark spoke softly. "Then I'll have someone bring you here. Don't cry, be good."
Lisa continued to cry.
"At 2 PM tomorrow, go to Willow Lane. Someone will take you away. Be ready. I'll get you out as soon as possible. Don't be afraid." Mark continued.
Lisa nodded tearfully.
After hanging up, Lisa stopped crying and numbly wiped her tears.
Even if it's just to ensure Casey grows up safely and to make Ethan and Jasmine owe her a favor, she must catch Mark.
She would cooperate with the police and go undercover with Mark.
Even she will risk her life, she had to go.
"Had enough crying?" Raymond, who had been standing by the car, walked over and asked softly.
He hadn't heard who Lisa was talking to, but he knew she needed someone with her.
Lisa looked up at Raymond standing under the streetlight.
Why hadn't she noticed Raymond before?
If life could start over, how great would that be?
She would never have foolishly fallen for Jordan.
She would have chosen Raymond.
"Let's go. I'll take you back to the hotel," Raymond extended his hand to Lisa.
Lisa hesitated for a long time before placing her hand in Raymond's.
On the way back to the hotel, Raymond's phone rang. It was Jasmine calling.
She was probably worried Lisa might do something extreme and wanted Raymond to persuade her.
Raymond cared deeply for Lisa. It used to be subtle, but recently it had become obvious. Everyone could see that Raymond liked Lisa.
Lisa instinctively grabbed Raymond's phone and hung up. "Raymond, do you dare to be with me?"
She was afraid Jasmine would tell Raymond and that Raymond wouldn't let her go.
Raymond was stunned and slammed on the brakes. "What?"
He thought that he was hallucinating.
Lisa threw the phone aside and looked at Raymond. "Do you dare to be with me? I'm divorced now, would you mind it?"
"Are you that insecure?" Raymond frowned, pulled Lisa close, and kissed her.
Lisa's eyes reddened as she responded to Raymond's kiss.
Throwing the car keys to the hotel valet, Lisa pulled Raymond into the elevator.
Two adults who hadmutual attraction, the collision of hormones was like igniting the gunpowder of desire.
Raymond had loved Lisa in silence for many years, and Lisa had just been freed and understood his feelings.
For Raymond, the passionate Lisa was impossible to refuse.
They kissed all the way from the elevator to the room. Each kiss was hot and deep.
Raymond didn't even think about his phone.
So Jasmine's many calls went unanswered, the phone ringing alone in the car.
That night, Lisa was especially wild.
It was as if she was venting years of dissatisfaction, or perhaps absorbing Raymond's love and care.
After marrying Jordan, except for the night they had Casey, Jordan had hardly touched her.
She was a woman, and Jordan's disdain had deeply hurt and made her insecure.
She had doubted herself, thinking she wasn't attractive enough.
But it turned out Jordan didn't love her.
Facing Raymond, Lisa had the thought for the first time that she could die with him.
She would like die in bed.
In the adult world, love and desire collide.
Desire was hot, and when mixed with love, it's like gunpowder meeting a flame, which was unstoppable.
In the dimly lit room, they crazily wanted each other, neither willing to let go first.
After a whole night of passion, they finally fell asleep.
Lisa's whole body ached with every movement, and sleepiness overwhelmed her.
But she couldn't sleep.
She had to leave before Raymond woke up.
"I'm sorry," Lisa kissed Raymond's forehead.
They were destined to be apart.
Carefully getting out of bed, Lisa dressed quickly and fled.
Jordan was right, a woman like her, with her background and family, didn't deserve Raymond.
And Raymond could never marry her. The Long family was prestigious, and even if Raymond wasn't controlled by his family, she didn't want to make things difficult for him.
Wearing a baseball cap, she went to Willow Lane.
She might die with Mark.
But she didn't plan to come back alive this time.
"Thank you, Raymond," Lisa whispered, leaning against the wall.
Thank you, Raymond, for letting her experience what it felt like to be loved.
