Chapter 715 Deborah was Utterly Defeated by Lily
Bradley was silent. He couldn't figure it out now, either.
Leaving the Douglas Group, Bradley got on the bus.
Bradley made a call. "He just asked me to transfer the shares to Daniel. I've followed your instructions, left evidence, and signed the transfer agreement."
"That guy didn't say why?" On the other end of the line was Ethan.
He had deliberately sent Bradley to be a 'mole.'
Not knowing the enemy's information was too passive.
If Bradley could gain their trust, he could learn more information.
"He just told me not to interfere, to give the shares to Daniel, and that it would guarantee me more benefits in the future."
Bradley was also curious: why Daniel?
"Even if Mark gave up on Claire, he took the risk to get Daniel out first. Is it really because of fatherly love? What other value does Daniel have?" Ethan asked.
"We should find out soon. The person behind the acquisition of scattered shares will eventually put all these shares in Daniel's name. We'll see." Bradley whispered. "Today, Jasmine looked at me with disgust."
Bradley felt a bit wronged. But since he had promised Ethan, he couldn't let anyone know.
He didn't tell Brandon because the more Brandon made things difficult for him, the more the person behind this trusted him.
And he didn't tell Jasmine because Ethan feared her acting wasn't good enough.
"I'll tell them when this is over," Ethan answered.
Bradley smiled bitterly.
He always felt he wouldn't live long.
Whether he could live to see that day was still unknown.
Ethan said, "Just keep an eye on Daniel."
Keep an eye on Daniel and see what other value he had.
Jasmine had just arrived home when she heard the news that Claire had an incident in prison, reportedly a sudden cardiac arrest, almost dying.
Clearly, her days inside were not going well.
Jasmine sneered; this was Claire's punishment.
"Claire woke up crying to see Mark, but Mark didn't see her."
Claire still wanted to beg Mark to get her out. Unfortunately, Mark had already discarded her as a pawn.
"Keep pushing. Make things worse," Jasmine said coldly.
She wanted to break Claire, to make her turn on Mark.
Mark, feeling threatened, would surely want Claire dead.
Jasmine was just waiting for them to destroy each other.
As soon as Xavier left, Deborah's people set the apartment on fire. The flames spread quickly, and Lily called Xavier, crying.
By the time he returned, the fire was raging.
"Lily! Don't be afraid."
Xavier still had some conscience, though not much.
Ignoring the flames, Xavier rushed into the bedroom, hoping to get Lily out before the fire grew too big.
But Lily left the bedroom and locked the door.
Xavier was stunned and banged on the door. "Lily, what are you doing?"
Leaning against the door, Lily watched the growing flames, her voice hoarse and eyes red. "Xavier, you know I hate you, right?"
Xavier was stunned.
"People like you deserve to die," Lily squatted down, speaking again. "Did you ever have a bit of feeling for me? Do you regret not helping me when those bastards raped me in the room when I was on my knees begging you to save me?"
Xavier was silent. He remembered that day when those bastards touched Lily, and she begged him to take her away.
He was in a bad mood and just left.
It turned out he had ruined her all along.
"Lily, let me out, let's talk."
The smoke in the room grew thicker, and Lily, holding a wet cloth over her mouth and nose, tried to suppress her cough.
Smoke filled the room. Xavier was in the innermost room of the apartment, with no windows, unable to escape.
Lily ran out crying, falling to the ground outside.
The fire grew larger.
Finally, a neighbor noticed something was wrong and called the fire department.
But the fire exits in this kind of apartment building were all blocked, and the fire trucks couldn't get in.
"The fire is set, and the fire trucks can't get in," the hitman said coldly.
Deborah smiled. "You did well. I want her dead."
With Lily dead, she would make Xavier marry her, as he had promised before. Xavier was her last resort, her trump card.
He had liked her and pursued her for a long time, but she never agreed. She believed men didn't cherish what came too easily.
After a few hours, the fire was finally put out. Firefighters found Lily unconscious in the hallway. They weren't sure if anyone else was inside. By the time they rushed in, Xavier was already dead.
Jasmine was cutting fruit when she cut her finger at home.
The apartment fire, with one dead and one injured, quickly made the news. Because the deceased was the heir to the Powell family, a Kerean conglomerate.
Jasmine's heart raced as she watched the news.
Was it a coincidence, or did Lily do it?
If it was Lily, had she really gone mad?
"Xavier is dead," Jasmine said softly.
Ethan had also received the news. "The Powell family's only heir now is the child in Lily's womb. Her plan is very clever. She just registered her marriage with Xavier and got pregnant, and now Xavier is dead."
"But she's such a fragile person. Could she really be so ruthless?" Jasmine asked, covering her mouth in shock.
Was it really Lily?
"Never underestimate a woman." Ethan frowned. "She is indeed very ruthless."
Jasmine suddenly felt that if Lily had really done this, she would become very terrifying.
When Deborah received the news that the person burned to death was Xavier, she went completely mad.
"What? What did you do! Didn't I tell you to wait until Xavier left before acting? You idiot!" Deborah cursed in anger.
"Once the fire started, Lily called Xavier back. Xavier ignored the flames and rushed in to save her, but he didn't make it out," the hitman said coldly.
Deborah cursed. Her last trump card was gone. She was unwilling to end up with nothing and had to think of a way.
But what she didn't know was that the hitman had already turned himself in to the police. Deborah's entire conversation was monitored.
While Deborah was still plotting to regain her value, the police stormed in and pinned her down.
"Come with us! You are under arrest for attempted murder!"
