Chapter 194 Ethan to Disclose His Married Status
After finally coaxing the little one to sleep, Jasmine managed to slip away unnoticed.
She discreetly tucked her business card inside her suitcase before taking the initiative to embrace Ethan from behind. "Let's switch to a different resort; if the little guy wakes up crying and comes looking for me…"
Their vacation would be ruined.
Jasmine desired more time with Ethan.
This holiday might be her last chance to be with him.
Even a brief moment with him brought her happiness.
Ethan had just finished a call with Liam when Jasmine unexpectedly wrapped her arms around him. "What did Nolan Cunningham say to you?" he asked, taken aback by her sudden boldness.
"Mommy, I want my Mommy." The child's cries drifted from outside the door, growing fainter.
It was evident that Nolan Cunningham had forcefully taken the child away.
Jasmine glanced at Ethan, her heart pounding.
Their eyes met.
After a moment of consideration, Ethan swiftly gathered his belongings. "Let's go!"
They couldn't afford any more interruptions from the child.
Though Jasmine's heart ached at the sound of the child's cries, she pulled Ethan by the wrist and hurried away. The child wasn't hers, and as much as it pained her, she couldn't care for someone else's child forever.
Ethan smiled as he watched Jasmine lead him. "You still haven't told me, what did Nolan Cunningham say to you?"
Jasmine halted, turning back to Ethan. "He thinks I'm using you to climb the social ladder with the Cunningham Family."
Ethan stepped closer, his brow furrowed. "What did you tell him?"
"I mean..." Jasmine took a deep breath, summoning her courage.
If she didn't say it now, she might never have the chance.
"I mean, Mr. Ethan, you are my pinnacle. I don't need to use you to gain favor with anyone else." Jasmine smiled warmly.
Bathed in sunlight, she seemed to radiate warmth.
Ethan's heart skipped a beat; this was what it felt like to be enchanted.
Reaching out, Ethan pulled Jasmine into an embrace and chuckled softly, "You've got me; you don't need anyone else."
He vowed to ensure that Jasmine would always be willing to hold onto him.
After switching hotels, Ethan called Liam. "Stick to the plan, but we might need to accelerate things. Howard is growing impatient."
Liam informed Ethan that both the Brown Family and the Douglas Family had met today and even shared a meal.
They had decided Ethan's marital fate behind his back.
Ironically, he was considered Howard's son, but in reality, he was just Howard's pawn, used to safeguard their interests.
Jasmine emerged from the bathroom barefoot, her skin and hair still damp.
Standing on the carpet, wrapped in only a towel, she felt both uneasy and anxious.
Today was different; Jasmine's apprehension stemmed from wanting to be more proactive.
She also wanted to use the little time they had to make Ethan happy.
After all, Ethan was the only one who had considered her education and wrongful imprisonment.
By putting herself in others' shoes, Jasmine knew who had been kind to her and who had not.
"Mr... Mr. Ethan," Jasmine spoke softly, her ears flushing red.
"Let me help you dry your hair?" Ethan hung up the phone and approached Jasmine to towel her hair dry. "You'll catch a cold if you don't dry it off."
Jasmine decided it would be pointless to dry off now, only to sweat later and need another wash. So, why not just take a shower afterward?
Standing on tiptoes, she planted a kiss on Ethan's lips.
Ethan was taken aback for a moment.
Today, Jasmine's boldness stirred something within him, causing his heart to race.
Narrowing his eyes, Ethan grabbed Jasmine's head and kissed her back passionately.
"What's gotten into you?" Ethan asked, a hint of suspicion in his voice.
Jasmine began unbuttoning Ethan's shirt, wordlessly, one by one, working her way down.
Ethan drew a sharp breath. The implication alone was potent, let alone this blatant seduction.
"Jasmine…" Ethan felt a rush of panic.
Jasmine was usually so gentle, but today, she was taking charge, leaving Ethan uncertain.
"It's just… Emily told me to be more assertive," Jasmine stuttered, clearly flustered.
The fear of losing Ethan overwhelmed her.
If she only caused him trouble, she'd rather leave than be a burden.
"Emily's quite the coach," Ethan chuckled. "I've had Liam set her up with a new place and a job."
Ethan raised an eyebrow, expecting Jasmine's praise.
Jasmine looked at Ethan wide-eyed, in awe. "Mr. Ethan, you arranged everything for Emily?"
Ethan smirked. "Well, she did a good job teaching my wife."
The term 'wife' brought a flush to Jasmine's cheeks.
That word alone was enough to make anyone lose their senses.
Jasmine, emboldened, hugged Ethan tighter and dared to nibble at his Adam's apple—a spot Emily claimed all men found sensitive.
Ethan felt his last thread of rationality snap. He pulled her close and lifted her onto the bathroom vanity.
"Such a tease," he murmured with mock resentment.
Each time Jasmine stirred the fire, she'd end up begging for mercy.
He usually wore his heart on his sleeve.
But not this time, he resolved. No room for sentimentality.
With flushed cheeks, Jasmine clung to Ethan, who had become perfect in her eyes.
But she had to leave eventually.
Jasmine sighed and hugged Ethan tighter. "Ethan, did you see the news? Mr. Howard has agreed to the arranged marriage with the Brown Family..."
Ethan's brow furrowed; he knew something was off with Jasmine.
She had seen the news from back home.
"Yeah, I saw it," he said gravely. "Let him go through with it if he’s agreed. It has nothing to do with me. I have a wife, legally protected."
Ethan had made up his mind. If Howard pressured him too much, he'd expose their wedding photos on social media.
Ethan was eager for Howard's schemes.
Perhaps he'd threaten him with shares, relishing the challenge.
In just a few days since he left, Stellar Enterprises had already become a complete mess.
The board knew Daniel wasn't up to the job.
He could pull off other stunts.
He was actually looking forward to it.
With a sneer, Ethan pulled Jasmine into his arms. "Don't worry."
He planned to go public with his marriage.
Once again, the Brown Family would be made laughingstocks.
Such people didn't deserve sympathy.
Nor did the Brown Family deserve any mercy from him.
