Chapter 629 Is the Person Behind the Scenes About to Appear?

Claire clenched her jaw and shot daggers at Jasmine. "You think you've won? If you're so mighty, throw me in there too. Otherwise, the Douglas Group will never be yours."

Jasmine shoved Claire away and dusted off her hands. "No rush. Take your time. Let's see if you can survive until Daniel gets out of prison."

"Jasmine!" Claire screamed, her whole body shaking.

"Don't let this crazy woman in again. She has nothing to do with the Douglas Group," Jasmine told the security guard at the door.

Claire kept yelling as the security guards dragged her out, tossing her outside in a pitiful state.

Jasmine settled back into Ethan's chair, hiding her sweaty, aching palms under the table. "Sorry for the drama. Howard's dead, and according to his will, his shares go to Bradley."

Jasmine glanced at Bradley, hoping he wasn't secretly ambitious.

Bradley looked at Jasmine and nodded. "Dad made two wills. Claire's people destroyed one, but I have the other one. It's with Aaron Barnes, the lawyer from Integrity Legal Firm."

Aaron walked in and read the will out loud.

Jasmine watched the lawyer confirm it and looked at Bradley. Ethan hated these shares, so Jasmine wouldn't fight for them either.

"Ethan had already set up a share transfer agreement with the lawyer before everything happened. All shares, properties, funds, and investments under Ethan's name now belong to Jasmine," Ben said, organizing the documents with the lawyer and placing them on the table. "So now, Jasmine is the largest shareholder of the Douglas Group."

"Even if she's the largest shareholder, she can't take over the company without our consent. This is ridiculous," someone objected, thinking Jasmine was too young and inexperienced.

"Handing the company to Bradley is better than giving it to a woman who knows nothing."

"Exactly."

The board members started murmuring. These people were self-serving and leaned towards their interests. They had initially brought Ethan back because Daniel's abilities were limited. Now, comparing Jasmine and Bradley, they naturally leaned towards Bradley.

"I will fully support Jasmine in managing the company," Bradley said, looking at Jasmine as if pledging his loyalty.

Jasmine didn't trust Bradley. She trusted no one at the moment but had no choice but to use him temporarily.

Brandon said he could control Bradley. Hopefully, he would keep his word. If Bradley showed any ambition, she would cut him off without hesitation, showing no mercy.

Because when she treated everyone with kindness, no one responded in kind. Even so, she still wanted to do her best, but what was the result? She lost the most important person to her.

The price was too high.

Without Ethan, she didn't care about anything. She wouldn't care if the world ended.

"The Douglas Group is my husband's hard work. If I'm not absolutely sure, I won't destroy what he cares about the most. He will be back soon. Until then, I won't allow anyone to touch his things. Please trust me," Jasmine said to everyone present, her voice slightly hoarse.

Harold Fisher was silent for a long time before raising his hand. "I agree."

"Are you crazy? She's just a woman," someone disagreed.

"So what? There are many successful female entrepreneurs in the business world," Harold said, frowning. "If it weren't for Cordelia, the Cunningham Group wouldn't have lasted this long. Like father, like daughter. Cordelia's daughter won't be any worse."

A few board members exchanged glances. "But Cordelia is a self-made businesswoman. She..."

"If you trust me, I'll make sure everyone's interests are protected," Jasmine said, looking around the room. "I'll secure the projects Ethan was working on before everything went down, and I'll do it fast. If I can't, I'll hand over the management to Bradley."

"Are you sure?" The board members eyed her skeptically.

"I'm sure," Jasmine replied firmly. "But you all need to back me up completely. If anyone drags their feet or has hidden agendas..."

"I guarantee that won't happen," Harold said, stepping up. When he spoke, the others followed suit.

After finally calming the chaos within the Douglas Group, Jasmine leaned back in her chair, rubbing her temples in exhaustion.

As everyone left, Bradley stood up and glanced at Jasmine. "If you need my help..."

"You take charge of the Willowcrest and Verdant Hills projects. I want those secured ASAP. Can you handle it?" Jasmine handed Bradley the project proposals.

Bradley was momentarily stunned but then nodded. "I can."

Jasmine nodded and turned to Harold. "Please clean up the company's internal mess. Claire and Mark left a lot of garbage behind. Make sure it's all cleared out. I don't want the Douglas Group to stink when Ethan returns."

Harold was taken aback for a moment, seeing a glimpse of Ethan in her.

Indeed, the woman Ethan chose couldn't possibly be weak and in need of protection.

"Are you really going to let Daniel go to jail?" the vice president asked cautiously.

When Harold had led the effort to bring Ethan back to the Douglas Group, he had already crossed Claire and Daniel. He needed to ensure Jasmine wouldn't get sentimental and give Daniel a chance to make a comeback.

"You don't need to test me. Whether dealing with people or matters, I can be both kind and ruthless. I owe no one anything; they owe me, and they must repay," Jasmine said, standing up and leaving with Ben and Tom.

After handling the Douglas Group, she needed to head to the Raymond Group.

"Jasmine, you haven't rested properly for days. You're wearing yourself out running between three places. The Raymond Group has Brandon, the Douglas Group can be entrusted to Liam and Bradley, and Samuel is handling LY. You should rest," Cordelia said, worried about her daughter.

Jasmine shook her head. "Ethan trusts Brandon, and so do I. But I don't trust Bradley. The opponent at LY is Ian, and Samuel can't handle it alone."

"But..." Cordelia started to say but was cut off by Edward. "Mom, let her keep busy. It's better than letting her overthink."

Jasmine's eyes reddened, and she choked up. "I can handle it myself."

Even without Ethan, she had to support the company and the family until he returned.

He had said he wouldn't miss their child's growth, and he would keep his word. He wouldn't break his promise.

"Mr. Cunningham, someone named Mark wants to see you. He says it's related to Ethan," a security guard ran over and whispered to Jasmine.

Jasmine glanced at Ben. Mark was finally getting anxious.

"The most important thing now is to be wary of the people behind Claire and Mark. Sending Daniel to prison is cutting off their retreat. They must be desperate," Ben whispered. "Be careful."

The people behind them were about to surface.
