Chapter 854 Hestia is going to sue the Cunningham Group

Edward was taken aback. "Who?"

Hestia cautiously whispered in Edward's ear, mysteriously. "I'll tell you secretly, Primrose is very likely to be the future CEO's wife."

Edward almost wanted to laugh.

The position of the CEO's wife had already been predetermined.

"The Cunningham Group, our CEO. Don't you often see the boss? Haven't you heard any rumors? Our legal department and the colleagues in the finance department all know it."

Hestia thought Edward didn't pay enough attention to gossip.

Edward smiled helplessly. "You guys have been fooled. The CEO of the Cunningham Group is already married."

Hestia was stunned and looked at Edward in surprise. "Already married?"

Seeing Edward nod, Hestia spoke again. "I heard that Primrose is going to marry someone from the Cunningham family. Isn't it the current CEO? The Cunningham family seems to have three heirs."

"Nolan is about to have a child, the CEO is also married, and only Edgar is not married, but he has a girlfriend and is deeply in love with her. He doesn't even know who Primrose is," Edward assured Hestia.

Hestia blinked. "So, Primrose deliberately spread such news to deceive us, and HR flattered her, thinking she would be the boss's wife, so they found an excuse to fire me. I'm so angry, I want to sue them."

"Sue them!" Edward slapped the sofa and sat beside her.

He took a deep breath.

Encouraging his wife to sue his own company's HR department, he was probably the first to do so.

"Send a lawyer's letter to the Cunningham Group's HR department tomorrow and see their reaction." Edward rubbed Hestia's head. "If they get scared and let you go back to work, will you go back?"

Hestia sniffled. "I don't plan to stay at the Cunningham Group. Even if they let me go back, my heart is already broken. I'm planning to go to their competitor."

Edward was a bit panicked.

He coughed. "Hestia, you shouldn't act on impulse in such matters. Think it over again?"

Hestia angrily replied, "No, I've thought it through. With the current people in the Cunningham Group's legal department, there will definitely be problems. I'll go to their competitor and keep a close eye on the Cunningham Group. When they make a mistake, I'll take advantage of it."

Edward wanted to laugh but held back, sneezing. "Hestia, let's eat first and calm down."

Worried that Hestia would really go to the competitor, Edward quickly sent a message to Ethan on Facebook: [Help me, my wife was fired by the Cunningham Group's HR department. She's angry and plans to go to their competitor. Please help.]

Ethan was in a meeting and replied with an OK.

Soon, as Hestia was about to eat, she received an invitation from Ethan: [Ms. Sharp, I heard you were interning in the Cunningham Group's legal department. Would you be interested in joining us at the Raymond Group?]

Hestia slammed her fork on the table, excitedly standing up and hugging her phone.

But after thinking rationally, Hestia nervously replied: [Mr. Douglas, why would you want me to work at your company? I'm just an intern.]

Hestia couldn't understand. After alll, Ethan's wife was so beautiful, and Ethan surely wasn't interested in her. Her idol was a person of integrity.

If it wasn't for money or looks, it must be for her ability. But she was just an intern; what ability could she have?

On the other end, Ethan was in a dilemma.

How should he help Edward cover up this lie?

After a while, Ethan replied: [Your husband and I have had some business dealings. He's very capable, and he recommended you to me.]

Hestia excitedly looked at Edward and rushed over to hug him. "You recommended me to the Raymond Group?"

Edward was taken aback by the sudden enthusiasm and nodded. "Uh... yes, I had some interactions with Ethan before."

"I love you so much." Hestia jumped up excitedly.

Edward touched his nose. "You deserve it..."

Hestia excitedly replied to Ethan: [Thank you, Mr. Douglas. I'll consider it carefully.]

She was a bit excited now; after all, he was her idol.

"Do you like Ethan that much?" Edward was a bit jealous. "Then why didn't you intern at the Raymond Group instead of the Cunningham Group?"

Hestia thought for a moment. "Because the Raymond Group merged with the Douglas Group's legal department, so they weren't hiring externally for the time being."

"But I also considered it comprehensively. The Cunningham Group has just stabilized its position in Silverlight City. I think working in such a large company with a solid foundation but needing to establish itself will provide more challenges and opportunities. After all, risk and reward are often proportional."

Hestia was very rational. She knew the Cunningham Group was in a survival stage in Silverlight City. As long as the company's leaders weren't the type to discard people after using them, Hestia believed she could achieve success in the legal department with her abilities.

"Well, I still hope you consider it comprehensively." Edward smiled. "Let's eat. Don't be sad; maybe bad things can turn into good things."

Hestia nodded, and the atmosphere between them became a bit more intimate.

Edward looked at Hestia, thinking that if he kissed her now, she probably wouldn't be scared away.

Just as he was about to seize the opportunity to kiss her, Hestia's phone rang.

Edward looked at Hestia's phone with resentment. The caller was Saul.

Hestia's ex-boyfriend.

Edward's nerves instantly became alert, listening intently to their conversation.

Hestia glanced at the caller ID and instinctively looked back at Edward.

Edward pretended not to care, but in reality, his ears were practically following Hestia.

Hestia thought for a moment and directly hung up the call.

They had broken up for so long, and there couldn't be any urgent matter. It was better not to contact him.

Besides, she was already married.

Seeing Hestia hang up on her ex-boyfriend, Edward was in a great mood. If only she could block him.

Just as he was about to kiss her, her damn ex-boyfriend called again.

Edward took a deep breath, his good upbringing suppressing his anger.

"Hello?" This time, Hestia answered the call.

"Hestia, Mrs. Sharp is in Silverlight City. Didn't you know? Mrs. Sharp contacted me. She had a car accident on Birchwood Lane. You should come to the hospital."

Hestia's body stiffened. Her mom?

Saul wouldn't joke about such things.

But why did her mom contact Saul instead of her when she came to Silverlight City?

"Send me the address. I'll be right there." Hestia hung up the phone and looked at Edward nervously. "My mom is in Silverlight City. She had a car accident."

Edward quickly stood up. "Don't worry, we'll go there now."

"It'll be fine, don't be scared." He grabbed a coat for Hestia and led her out.

Their marriage had been a bit rushed. Hestia said they should get married first and develop feelings later, so Edward hadn't pushed her to meet her parents.

Edward hadn't met Hestia's mother yet and was a bit nervous.

Hestia had mentioned that her relationship with her mother wasn't great, as her mother was very controlling, which was why she was pressured into marriage.

It seemed like her mother wouldn't be easy to get along with.
