Chapter 214: Henry Wants to Marry into the Cunningham's Family?
"From what I know, Jasmine is just Henry's life assistant. If Mr. Douglas is willing, I'm willing to offer triple the salary to steal her away," Nolan Cunningham said in a low voice, his gaze falling on Jasmine. "Or, name your conditions."
Ethan glanced up and down at Nolan Cunningham. "It's a shame that Mr. Nolan didn't replace Jennifer Lopes in showbiz. You're everywhere, so many dramas."
Nolan Cunningham took a deep breath, ignoring Ethan. In his eyes, the things he wanted to obtain, even someone as powerful as Ethan, was only a matter of time.
"Mr. Douglas should worry about himself first. It's not just me who has a lot of dramas recently," Nolan Cunningham said casually, glancing at the time. "I'll have someone send Eric's daily necessities over. Our Eric only drinks milk imported from New Zealand and only eats green, organic vegetables that are free from pollution. The fruits have to be imported from Southeast Asia."
Jasmine involuntarily glanced at Ethan. Before she came to Ethan's side, Ethan's butler also strictly controlled the ingredients. Since she arrived, Ethan seemed to be less picky about everything.
Ethan didn't pay attention to Nolan Cunningham and instead felt that he seemed to be seriously ill.
"Eric has a weak heart. He is prohibited from getting emotionally worked up, crying and causing a scene. He is also prohibited from engaging in intense physical activity," Nolan Cunningham said.
"Alright, you talk as if you personally took care of the child," Ethan said, no longer wanting to see Nolan Cunningham. "Hurry up and leave, you're so busy."
Nolan Cunningham snorted and arrogantly glanced at the time once again. "Eric, call Uncle if you need anything."
Eric nodded.
Only then did Nolan Cunningham leave with peace of mind.
Once Nolan Cunningham left, Ethan kicked the door, feeling annoyed that it was so late.
He really wanted to put up a sign at the entrance of the neighborhood that said "No biting dogs and no entry for Cunningham's Family."
Jasmine finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Nolan Cunningham's aura was really oppressive.
Before, Jasmine would feel this way when she saw Ethan as well, with her back tensing up and her body covered in cold sweat.
But now... she seemed to slowly rely on him.
As long as Ethan was there, she felt like she could relax a little.
"Mummy..." Eric cowered behind Jasmine, afraid of Ethan.
Justin held onto Ethan tightly, afraid that Eric would try to steal their father.
"Daddy is mine," Justin declared, asserting his sovereignty.
"I don't want to compete with you," Eric pouted.
Ethan raised an eyebrow and smiled at Jasmine. "Let the two little ones get acquainted, we can go to sleep."
Jasmine was somewhat worried, afraid that Justin and Eric wouldn't get along.
"I want to sleep with Mummy," Eric refused to let go of Jasmine.
Ethan was frightened and looked at his son for help.
Justin received the distress signal and stuck his tongue out at Eric. "Little young master is really scared. Even though he's so big, he still needs to cry and sleep with adults. I slept by myself when I was two or three."
Eric pouted and crossed his arms. "That's not true. I want to sleep with Mummy."
"My Mummy doesn't like dependent children, so I always sleep by myself," Justin got down from Ethan's arms. "Come on, I'll show you my room. It was personally designed by Daddy."
Justin reached out his hand to Eric.
Eric looked curious and followed Justin.
"No one's father can give them a better room than mine."
"Yes, my father even gave me these teddy bears."
"My father bought me limited edition toys and a lot of toy cars."
"..."
The two children had started competing about their fathers.
Neither of them would admit defeat.
Ethan let out a sigh of relief and pulled Jasmine into his arms, smiling. "Now, no one will bother us."
...
Early the next morning.
After being detained overnight at the police station with no one to bail her out, May had an unpleasant expression on her face.
She angrily returned home, finding no one there.
She called Richard, but he didn't answer.
May sat on the couch, waiting for Richard but he never showed up.
Since she couldn't wait for Richard, May decided to continue looking for Jasmine.
As soon as she stepped out of the house, she saw a black car waiting outside for her.
The car window rolled down, and Ethan was sitting inside.
"Where's Jasmine? Have her come see me!" May angrily cursed. "I am her mother!"
"Then go prove that you're her mom," Ethan said calmly, gesturing for May to get in the car.
"What do you mean?" May looked at Ethan suspiciously.
"Given that you're a compulsive liar, I need to see medical evidence to prove your relationship with Jasmine. I will take you to do a paternity test with Jasmine. Until the results of the paternity test are out, I won't let you see Jasmine," Ethan warned May, not falling for her tricks.
May's face instantly changed. "You're saying we have to go? Who are you to Jasmine? Rich people like you always play games. Who knows what you're up to? I'm not going!"
Ethan furrowed his brows and signaled for the bodyguard in the car to get out.
The bodyguard got out of the car and approached May, grabbing hold of her. "Please cooperate."
May was shocked and started yelling, "Help! Kidnapping!"
"Help!"
May started throwing a fit, screaming and rolling on the ground.
Ethan furrowed his brows. May seemed to strongly resist doing the paternity test. What was she afraid of?
"I'm just taking you for a paternity test, you don't need to be so resistant," Ethan got out of the car and spoke in a stern voice.
"Mr. Douglas, is it appropriate to bully an elder so early in the morning? " Henry walked over from the end of the alley.
Ethan's face darkened. "Henry, you have too much free time."
"Likewise," Henry glanced at the time. "Mr. Douglas didn't also come here before going to the company?"
Ethan furrowed his brows. "Are you trying to stop me?"
It seemed that Henry knew what he wanted to do with May.
"I'm here to stop your disrespectful behavior towards elders," Henry smiled like a polite fox.
May rushed to Henry's side, grateful to have someone speak up for her. "Exactly! It's so rude."
Henry remained dangerous, looking at Ethan.
Ethan didn't have time to argue with Henry here. After all, May wouldn't run away. She would keep bothering Jasmine.
It wouldn't matter if he went another day.
"Although you're the sole inheritor of SHC Group, PatrickDouglas Sr. won't easily hand it over to you. I heard PatrickDouglas Sr. is also helping you find a new potential marriage partner and has set his sights on Cunningham's Family," Ethan walked over to Henry. "The true heiress of Cunningham's Family is still missing, only Jennifer Lopes, who is recognized as a non-blood-related heir by Cunningham's Family."
"Jennifer Lopes," Henry said meaningfully.
Clearly, PatrickDouglas Sr. had this plan in mind.
"Good luck," Ethan smiled meaningfully and went back to the car.
Henry maintained a smile as he watched Ethan leave.
"Who are you?" May sized up Henry, noting his expensive outfit. He could talk to Ethan, so he must be wealthy and influential.
"Aunt, I'm Henry, the father of Jasmine's son," Henry said with a smile.
"You?" May was initially taken aback, but then she began to show her claws. "You're the wild man? You seem quite wealthy. You think you can just get away with what you did to my daughter? Let me tell you, without one million... no, two million, this matter won't be resolved!"
Henry continued to smile meaningfully, taking out a card. "There are five million in here. As long as you help me with something, this money is yours."
