Chapter 951 Lyanna's Past
Leaving the prison, Lyanna took a deep breath of fresh air. Half the weight on her chest had lifted.
God, that felt good.
Lyanna clenched her fists, her eyes welling with tears. Keeping them alive in prison was the ultimate punishment.
As the illegitimate daughter of the Murray family, Lyanna's nightmare began after her mother's death. Her mother, dying of cancer, had publicly revealed Lyanna's paternity, hoping to secure her daughter's future. She couldn't have known she was condemning her child to hell.
Beck, pressured by public opinion, reluctantly took Lyanna in. Though officially the "Murray heiress," she lived worse than the servants.
At thirteen, her biological father—that monster—violated her for the first time.
"Little girls should start early," he'd said. "Better me than someone else."
The deranged man controlled her through threats, terror, and torture. Lyanna, like a frightened rabbit, could only curl up and tremble. Resistance was pointless—no one would save her in that house.
When she was fifteen, desperate and broken, she turned to Rhett for help. On her birthday, a drunken Beck had assaulted her again. Sobbing, she ran to Rhett's room, begging him to call the police.
Rhett just sat coldly on the sofa, watching her.
Lyanna had believed he would save her, no matter what.
But the son of a demon was still a demon.
Smiling, he locked her in the basement and told Beck when he sobered up that Lyanna had tried to escape and report them. During what should have been her school semester, Lyanna was kept home on "medical leave," enduring inhuman torment from both men.
She hated Rhett, but despised Beck even more. Though she couldn't kill these psychopaths herself, she waited patiently for justice.
The reason Beck and Rhett received life sentences was largely due to Lyanna's efforts. While pretending to be compliant, she had secretly installed cameras, preserving evidence of their abuse. Beck, being a deviant, kept recordings of his crimes in a safe in his basement. Lyanna had discovered the combination and copied everything.
When Beck learned of Rhett's arrest and rushed home to destroy evidence, it was already too late. Lyanna had preserved it all and found other victims willing to testify.
On her way to see Beck, Lyanna trembled with hatred. She wanted him dead, but keeping him alive was the greater punishment. Death would be too merciful.
Her driver noticed her distress. "Miss Murray, perhaps we should postpone? You could use some time to collect yourself."
Lyanna smiled and shook her head. "I'm feeling wonderful. Today's perfect—I didn't dress up for nothing." She touched up her makeup and applied fresh lipstick.
As the car stopped outside the prison, Lyanna smiled at the building. This would be Beck's final resting place.
Inside, Beck was already waiting, still maintaining his authoritative air.
"Terry visited earlier. He suggested transferring all shares to your name. Did you get Rhett's too?" Beck asked, still plotting his escape. "Terry's working on getting me transferred to house arrest. I should be out soon."
How delusional.
Lyanna smiled. "Yes, I have Rhett's shares too."
"Good. The Murray family has taken a serious hit with both Rhett and me inside. You need to listen to Terry while you're out there, understand?" Beck nodded, instructing her to follow Terry's guidance.
He really trusted Terry Perez.
Unfortunately for him, Terry was her man now.
The reason Ethan and Avery had convinced Terry to betray Beck was because of her. Though Terry wasn't exactly virtuous, compared to Beck and Rhett, he had far more value.
The money she promised Terry was more than he could earn from Beck and Rhett in a lifetime. Of course he would switch sides.
"Beck..." Lyanna deliberately used his first name.
He didn't deserve to be called "father." The very thought made her sick.
"What?" Beck frowned, watching her.
Lyanna couldn't hold back her laughter. "Beck, you don't actually think you're getting out, do you? Your sentence is life. At your age, that means you'll die in here."
Beck's expression darkened instantly. "So that's it? You're going to be ungrateful? You're betraying me too?"
He scoffed, clearly not taking her seriously. "Lyanna, I'm your father!"
"Disgusting!" Lyanna spat with revulsion. "You dare claim that? Let me tell you something—those shares you and Rhett gave me? I sold them all. Want to know who bought them?"
Beck's face grew darker. "What nonsense are you talking?"
He couldn't believe it, assuming Terry would never allow it.
Lyanna laughed for a long time before composing herself. "Beck, still counting on Terry? He's my man now. For helping me arrange everything, I promised him ten percent of what I received—a fortune you could never offer him."
Beck's expression shifted from anger to horror as the truth dawned on him.
