Chapter 695 Jasmine Forces Marshall to Relinquish Power
The violent impact caused both of them to lose consciousness for a moment.
"You go first." Tom vigorously shook his head. Relying on his muscular build and strong resistance to blows, he forcefully pushed open Connor's car door, urging him to leave first.
"What about you?" Connor looked at Tom nervously.
"They're not after me. Stop wasting time and go quickly. Jasmine can't hold on much longer," Tom suppressed his pain and spoke again. "She let me protect you and ensure you return safely to the Hawthorne family. I promised her."
"Still like her that much?" Connor asked with a smile.
Tom thought Connor was crazy for being able to smile at a time like this.
"I wasn't good to her before. When she needed help, I escaped." Everyone thought Tom was carefree, but he had his sensitive side.
He felt regret and blamed himself.
The reason he stayed by Jasmine's side to protect her was to make up for his past mistakes.
"I don't deserve to like her anymore. She's Ethan's." Tom glanced outside. Five people got out of the car that had hit them, all holding sticks.
These people were determined to prevent Connor from returning to the Hawthorne family.
"Go now!" Tom shouted at Connor.
Connor lowered his eyes and quickly got out of the car. "Don't die."
Tom leaned back in his seat, forcefully unbuckled his seatbelt, and looked at his abdomen.
The impact had caused shards of glass to pierce his abdomen. But fortunately, the tempered glass wasn't sharp and hadn't penetrated deeply.
Kicking open the car door, Tom was about to get out and fight these people when a Jeep crashed into them, scattering the attackers.
On the other side, Richard's men parked the car and opened the door. "Mr. Hawthorne, Ms. Cunningham instructed us to ensure your safe return to the Hawthorne family."
Jasmine had sent them.
Richard also got out of the car and looked at the attackers.
"Jasmine predicted Owen would make a move." Richard signaled Connor to hurry up.
Connor smiled and got into the car.
Now, Tom wouldn't die.
In the Hawthorne family, Owen was confident that Connor wouldn't make it and checked the time. "Dad, I don't think you'll be seeing Connor."
Smirking, Owen stood up. "Don't blame me for being unfilial. You've lived too long. If you die sooner, it would be better for everyone."
Marshall's hand trembled with anger as he pointed at Owen. "You're not human!"
"I'm not, but you gave birth to me." Owen laughed. "Guess who I take after?"
Marshall's anger intensified. "I won't let you get anything from the Hawthorne family. I'm not dead yet!"
Indeed, as long as Marshall was alive, Owen couldn't get anything.
"What a pity." Owen glanced at Marshall's lawyer. "Everyone around you is mine now."
Sure enough, Marshall's lawyer and bodyguards were all Owen's people.
This was why Owen was so confident.
Marshall was stunned for a moment, glaring at Owen with anger. "You beast!"
"Dad, I learned from you. When you taught me how to deal with the Douglas family, you were much harsher. I've only picked up a fraction of it." Owen raised his hand, signaling the family doctor to act. "Marshall's heart isn't good; it's time for him to go."
"Dad, do you really think I don't exist?" Avery walked over to Marshall, warning the others with a smile. "You really don't take me seriously. I'm very hurt."
She was right there, and Owen dared to make a move to kill.
"Avery, you're my daughter. Only if the shares are in my hands can they go to you. Do you expect Marshall to give the shares to Connor and then to you?" Owen sneered. "You're a smart kid. You know better than anyone how to choose in the current situation."
The choice was between the weak and aging Marshall or her biological father.
Avery raised an eyebrow. "I choose Grandpa. Maybe if he's moved, he'll give all the shares to me?"
Avery laughed.
"You're dreaming." Owen didn't waste words with Avery and signaled the family doctor to inject Marshall with medication to cause a heart attack.
"You're really making me sad." Avery grabbed the doctor's head and slammed it onto the table. "Dad, did you forget that I'm good at martial arts?"
If Owen hadn't stopped her, she might have been competing on the national team or working as a martial arts coach.
But since she chose to enter the company, she would fight for the Hawthorne Group.
The Hawthorne Group could fall into Connor's hands, but it must not fall into Deborah and Owen's hands.
"You can't fight my bodyguards." Owen laughed, sitting in his chair.
Deborah also looked at Avery. "No matter how good you are at fighting, you can't take on so many people alone."
"Who said she's alone?" In the yard, Owen's men had already been subdued.
Jasmine walked in with bodyguards and Ben.
Jasmine glanced at Owen with a smile. "Owen, how can you kill your own father? That's murder."
Jasmine walked over and sat down, looking at Owen. "You are truly unfilial."
"Jasmine!" Owen's face darkened.
"My LY has a security department. Do you think my people can protect Marshall?" Jasmine smiled.
Deborah's face changed, showing some panic.
It seemed Jasmine was getting involved.
"Dad," Deborah said nervously.
"Why panic? Connor can't make it." Owen snorted.
"Sorry to disappoint you." Connor walked in from outside, with Richard and others guarding the door.
The entire Hawthorne family was now filled with Jasmine's people.
"Now, Sir, you can announce the inheritance." Jasmine looked at Marshall and pointed to Ben. "My assistant has already drafted the contract for you. This is our Douglas Group's lawyer."
Marshall was angry. "It's not up to the Douglas family to interfere."
"You have no other choice now. You only have one option: give all the shares and assets of the Hawthorne Group to Connor." Jasmine was afraid of any delays, fearing Marshall might leave something for Owen.
After all, Owen was more ruthless and better suited to manage the company than Connor.
Jasmine knew Marshall was not a simple man.
"Sign it." Jasmine tapped the table.
Marshall's face turned red with anger as he looked at Connor. "You're conspiring with outsiders against me?"
Connor smiled. "Dad, the choice is yours. I'm also helpless. She's Ethan's wife. The Douglas family and our family have conflicts. At most, I'm just a hostage."
Marshall's hand trembled with anger.
Owen was also furious. "Jasmine! This is our family matter! It's not your place to interfere."
"Family matter?" Jasmine sneered. "I insist on interfering. What can you do about it?"
"Deborah, call the police." Owen instructed Deborah to call the police.
"I recorded the moment you threatened to kill Marshall." Jasmine smiled.
Avery shook her phone. "Sorry, Dad. I'm also helpless."
