Chapter 634 The War Between Deborah and Jasmine Begins

"I get it, your status is way above my pay grade. But Nolan, don't push your luck," Nathaniel warned, staring Nolan down. "From now on, Amelia's off-limits. I'm taking her away. Don't mess with her anymore."

Nathaniel gave Nolan one last warning.

He'd already told his assistant to put the house on the market. No way was he letting Amelia run into Nolan again.

Lawrence was gone, and the old grudges should die with him. Nathaniel held onto his grudges, but he wasn't about to take it out on innocent people.

Especially not Amelia.

To Nathaniel, she was just Amelia, a sweet and naive girl, nothing like Lawrence.

Nolan watched Nathaniel leave, his fists clenching so hard his fingers tingled.

He felt like he might've lost something big, but he couldn't put his finger on it.

He'd never thought about a future with Amelia, so losing her had never crossed his mind. It seemed ridiculous.

But now, why did the thought scare him?

"Mr. Cunningham," Elijah rushed over, looking around nervously. "What just happened?"

"Amelia," Nolan said, his emotions all over the place.

Elijah looked down, nervous. "Lawrence died of a heart attack. Did you know?"

Nolan was stunned and looked back at Elijah. "When did this happen?"

Frowning, Nolan snapped, "Why didn't you tell me?"

Elijah quickly explained, "That day, Amelia's mom called her to get money for Lawrence's surgery. But Amelia was broke. She cried and begged, but no one would help. Then she called you."

Nolan stood there, feeling like his legs were made of lead.

Elijah went on, "That day, Amelia had a uterine perforation after an abortion, massive bleeding, internal organ damage, and was in critical condition. The doctor said they might have to remove her uterus."

Nolan's head snapped up, his breath catching. "What? Massive bleeding?"

Elijah nodded, "I called you, but you didn't answer. I thought you were on a date."

Nolan took a sharp breath and bolted. "Where's Amelia?"

"Still in the hospital."

"To the hospital!"

He never meant to hurt Amelia.

At LY Group, Jasmine and Ben were in a meeting, working hard to secure investment from the Everhart Group.

Tom, bored out of his mind, wandered over to the snack area for some beef jerky.

He had to admit, LY's employee perks were top-notch. The beef jerky was amazing.

Tom was a foodie. His motto was that good food and sleep were the keys to endless energy.

Just as Tom was munching on his beef jerky, a stunning woman stumbled into his arms.

She had a killer body and a gorgeous face, clearly trying to be seductive.

Tom paused, his plate in hand, staring at her.

The woman smiled at Tom, her smile dazzling. "Sorry, I didn't see you."

She grabbed some napkins to wipe the coffee off her chest. She was wearing a low-cut top, showing off her fair, well-shaped chest.

It was obvious she was trying to seduce him.

"Hey, handsome. I got some on you. Let me clean it up," she said, wiping Tom's clothes. Most of the coffee had indeed spilled on him.

Tom glanced at his clothes and pulled out his phone. "Hey, add me on Facebook."

The woman was caught off guard for a second but then smiled and took out her phone.

She'd done her homework and knew Tom had a thing for curvy women and was pretty easygoing. So when Deborah needed someone to mess with Tom, she jumped at the chance.

With her looks, she was sure she could win over the rich, laid-back Tom. She was determined to make him fall for her.

"What's your name? I'll add a note," she said with a smile, adding Tom on Facebook.

"Tom," he said, accepting the request. "Alright, now give me the money for dry cleaning. You don't need to take my clothes to the cleaners. This outfit costs three hundred bucks to dry clean."

The woman was taken aback, staring at Tom. "Huh?"

Dry cleaning fee? This guy was good at making excuses to add women's Facebook.

"You got my clothes dirty and won't pay for dry cleaning?" Tom thought this woman was a bit slow.

Because of Serena's false accusations, Tom had been cut off from all family support, his credit cards frozen, and 'kicked out' of the house. Now, he lived off bonuses and the salary from Ethan and Connor. He had to be frugal with three hundred dollars.

"Oh, okay." The woman, still confused, transferred three hundred dollars to Tom. Was this an excuse to get her Facebook?

"My name's Beth Williams. I just started yesterday. I'm not very familiar with LY yet. Can you show me around?" Beth asked with a smile, trying to get closer.

Tom munched on a piece of beef jerky, looking surprised. "Who's your HR? They didn't show you around? What kind of HR department is this?"

Beth was stunned, and then she explained, "No, HR did show me around. I just have a bad memory, so..."

"Bad memory? Which department are you in? Did you get in through connections like me?" Tom continued eating.

Beth opened her mouth, gritting her teeth in frustration. This guy was really annoying.

"Tom, you're really good-looking. Do you have a girlfriend?" Beth decided to take a more direct approach.

Tom looked at himself in the mirror, nodding in satisfaction. "Not bad. I think I look pretty good too."

"Do you have a girlfriend?" Beth asked awkwardly.

"No." Tom checked the time and ate the last piece of beef jerky.

The chef wouldn't give him more. He worked out every day and came to eat beef jerky every day, consuming enough for ten people. The chef remembered him.

Beth smiled and moved closer to him. "Tom, want to hang out after work?"

Tom finally took a good look at Beth. She was pretty, had a great figure, and was dressed scantily, clearly open to fun.

He thought about having some fun but then remembered Connor's face, colder than ice. "Tom, if you want to fool around, do it elsewhere. If you want to stay here, you'd better behave. If you cause any trouble, you're out."

Remembering Connor's warning, Tom got scared. No way. Connor had a keen sense of smell. If he found out, Tom would be dead.

He was currently homeless. If Connor didn't let him stay, his salary wouldn't be enough for a hotel.

No way, no way.

Tom shook his head vigorously and pointed at Beth. "Your clothes are too short. You don't meet the company's dress code. Don't wear them next time."

After lecturing her, Tom turned and left.

Beth's face turned red with anger. This guy didn't show any desire for her?

She didn't believe it!
