Chapter 435 Sophia Gets Herself into Trouble

At the Police Station.

Sophia tried her best to explain that she wasn't mentally ill.

But no one could prove she wasn't lying.

"Arnold, formerly known as Guadalupe, he really is my husband," Sophia sought support from the police.

As long as the police confirmed their marital relationship, they would definitely call Arnold and have him come to pick her up.

But the police just looked at her with pity. "Contact your family, I think you're sick."

Arnold had already called the police, and she was still claiming to be Arnold's wife.

"Someone can prove I'm Arnold's wife for me," Sophia suddenly remembered that there was someone at home who could testify.

But when she took out her phone to call Samantha, Sophia suddenly froze.

She just remembered that everyone in the village who knew the truth was either dead or gone, and Samantha had just been killed by her.

Back then, to keep Willian from discovering her secret of not being a virgin, and to cover up her wedding and childbirth, she had struggled to erase any trace of Guadalupe's existence.

Now, she had gotten herself into trouble.

Because here at the police station, she couldn't prove anything.

"I think your mental state is not right. Have your family take you to see a psychiatrist," the female officer said. "Give me your family's phone number."

Sophia reluctantly gave Willian's number.

She had to let Willian come to take her back.

She would have to rethink her plan regarding Arnold.

After all, she had evidence in her hands and wasn't afraid of anything.

But now, she had to dig up the evidence she had painstakingly destroyed.

At the Sunshine Restaurant.

Jasmine and Edward were out for a meal, enjoying a rare moment of quiet together.

"Edgar is too noisy," Edward finally got some time away from Edgar.

"Edgar has a good personality," Jasmine defended Edgar.

"Yes, Nolan is the only one in our family with a flawed personality," Edward said bluntly about Nolan.

Jasmine laughed, guessing that Nolan must be sneezing right now.

"Eat more," Edward said, looking at Jasmine with concern.

Over the years, she had suffered too much. "Jasmine, it's my fault for not finding you sooner."

Jasmine paused and shook her head. "Edward, finding you all and being back with you is enough for me."

Edward nodded. "From now on, I'll do my best to make it up to you."

Edward was trying his best to make it up to Jasmine, and material things first.

Recently, Jasmine felt like she was becoming a wealthy woman, with Nolan giving her cars worth millions of dollars and a mansion worth two hundred million dollars.

Edward gave her jewelry, auction items, and various precious things.

Edgar personally designed clothes for her, filling two large wardrobes with outfits, from formal dresses to casual wear to sportswear, all designed by Edgar himself.

She was very happy, but sometimes, amidst this happiness, she would become anxious, feeling that everything was too unreal.

She was always afraid and worried that she couldn't handle this happiness.

Afraid that God would suddenly take all her happiness away.

Afraid that with so many good things happening to her, some misfortune would soon follow.

She always thought too much, her mind uncontrollably racing.

Jasmine knew she was sick and had never fully recovered. She had always been trying very hard, but she couldn't control herself.

She knew that she was very happy now, that she had everything, and that she would never return to those hellish days of the past. But she still couldn't help feeling fear and anxiety.

"Jasmine, you said you had something to discuss with me today, what's that?" Edward asked, noticing Jasmine was distracted.

Jasmine snapped back to reality and nodded. "Yes, do you remember Lily?"

Edward nodded.

"Lily is actually one of Sophia's people. Sophia deliberately arranged for her to get close to you, Nolan, and Edgar."

Jasmine was very clear that Sophia wouldn't give up. "Today, Mom publicly transferred the shares and assets to us, cutting off Sophia's plans. Sophia must be anxious now, and she will definitely retaliate against us."

Edward said, "Sophia is ruthless, we do need to be on guard."

Jasmine lowered her voice. "Lily is now on our side."

Edward smiled. "Can she be trusted?"

Jasmine nodded. "Yes, she can be trusted."

Edward looked at Jasmine, growing more fond of her. "I've already reserved the entire restaurant, no one will hear our conversation. You don't have to be so cautious."

Jasmine gave an embarrassed smile. "Edward, I think you're the smartest person in our family. I want you and Lily to... put on a show."

Edward had already guessed. "Sophia arranged for Lily to appear in front of us to make us interested in Lily and keep her around."

Edward thought Sophia was out of her mind. She really thought everyone in the Cunningham family was as foolish as Willian.

Edward sneered, his eyes darkening.

Sophia thought they had the same personality. She was using the same tactics she used against Willian to deal with the three brothers.

Unfortunately, she underestimated Cordelia's upbringing.

"Edward, if you think it's too much trouble, I can think of another way," Jasmine said, worried that Edward might find it bothersome.

Edward shook his head. "No, it's not a bother. Just have Lily contact me."

Jasmine made an OK gesture. "Thanks."

Edward cut a piece of steak for Jasmine. "Eat up."

Downstairs, Edgar, who had been waiting in the car, was getting impatient and messaged his brother.

Edgar: [Edward, how long are you going to hog Jasmine? We still need to go barbecue. Don't let her eat too much.]

Edgar: [Jasmine has a bad stomach, you hear me?"]

Edgar kept messaging Edward. He got out of the car to check on them and accidentally hit a motorcycle parking behind him with his car door.

The person on the motorcycle almost fell, but Edgar quickly grabbed her arm and steadied her.

The person took off her helmet and frowned at Edgar. "Do you know that suddenly opening a car door is a major safety hazard?"

Edgar looked around. "I'm in a parking spot."

"Even in a parking spot, it's a safety hazard," the woman said angrily.

Edgar was scolded and felt a bit bewildered.

But looking closely at the attractive woman on the motorcycle, he felt she looked familiar.

It seemed like he had seen her somewhere before.

"Never seen a woman before?" The woman frowned, tossed her helmet to Edgar, and got off the motorcycle, revealing a red mark on her arm where she had been hit.

Edgar then realized how dangerous his action of suddenly opening the car door had been.
