Chapter 380 Connor's Surprise for Annabelle

Bellagio Hotel, VIP suite.
The entire floor was reserved for hotel VIP guests only.
The top floor was quiet, and ordinary people could not enter, especially intruders and journalists unless arranged in advance.
When Annabelle arrived, she was dressed casually, but she changed into very sexy lingerie inside.
This was clearly meant to make Connor fall for her directly.
Swinging the room key card in her hand, Annabelle smirked.
Rather than sweet-talking the challenging Hawthornes’ heiress, swaying her uncle Connor seemed a better strategy. As long as she maintained a good relationship with her uncle, why worry about not being able to cooperate well with the Cunningham family?
Moreover, tomorrow, Annabelle would be able to get her own share of the stocks from William. Once that happened, everything would be over. Even if the Cunningham family were to discover one day that Annabelle was not their biological daughter, it would be too late.
With a cold laugh, Annabelle stepped out of the elevator and headed towards the room.

Sophia's residence.
Sophia was in a good mood and prepared a table full of dishes for William.
"What day is it today?" William asked with a smile upon returning.
"Every day is a good day when I'm with you," Sophia said happily, kissed William, and then went to the kitchen to get the food.
"Is it?" William sat down and gave Sophia a meaningful look.
Years had honed Sophia and William's understanding of each other. Sophia's once suspected intent for William to transfer his shares to Annabelle was now practically confirmed. Sophia's happiness couldn't hide the truth.
She was a bit too impatient.
Tapping his fingers on the table, William leaned back in his chair.
Annabelle was his daughter, confirmed by a paternity test. Could that test be false?
Sophia had been with him for so many years; she wouldn't have the courage or time to do such things, right?
Shaking his head, William felt he was overthinking.
"Cordelia came today," Sophia mentioned during dinner.
"When did Cordelia come?" William frowned.
"Cordelia knew you were busy these days, so she went out for dinner with an old friend. She came over at half past ten tonight, waited for an hour, and left when you weren't here."
William nodded. "Next time Cordelia comes over, ignore her. All she cares about is shares and inheritance. I'm not dead yet, and she's already eyeing my possessions!"
William realized that Cordelia was eager for him to die and leave behind an inheritance and a hefty insurance payout.
Feeling very annoyed, William spoke sternly, "She thinks that if she gets the shares from me, she can kick me out of the Cunningham family. The Cunningham family name will never change!"
Seeing William getting angry, Sophia quickly tried to calm him down. "William, don't get angry. Getting upset will only harm your health; it's not worth it."
"I shouldn't have been so quick to hand the shares over to Annabelle. I don't know what schemes Annabelle and her mother are planning." William deliberately spoke, observing Sophia's reaction.
"Annabelle is a good kid," Sophia whispered in defense of Annabelle,
At this point, William couldn't afford to change his mind, or Sophia's joy would be in vain.
After all these years, despite using all sorts of means, Sophia had failed to trick William into giving up the shares. Finally, she found an opportunity, but she couldn't afford to fail.
Sophia had spent so many years with William, sacrificing much of her youth. Sophia was not content with just giving birth to a daughter for William.
If Sophia had given birth to a son back then, she wouldn't believe William and Bill would be so biased.
Gripping the fork tightly, Sophia spoke again, "Although Annabelle is Cordelia's child, for some reason, I feel a strong connection with her. I see a lot of similarities between us. We both grew up in difficult circumstances, unloved, only to be found by our biological parents later."
"Now is the time to show her love," Sophia advised William.
Surprisingly, William believed her, thinking he had misunderstood Sophia. "Alright, I understand. You are just too kind, easily taken advantage of."
William sighed, realizing that after all these years, he had started to doubt Sophia.
In William's eyes, Sophia was not very smart but undeniably beautiful, exuding gentleness in every gesture.
In fact, Cordelia was also a stunning beauty, a fact William never denied.
Initially, when the family arranged for William to marry Cordelia, he thought she must be ugly and resisted. However, on their wedding day, he was pleasantly surprised by Cordelia's beauty.
Before Cordelia became so overpowering, William did love her. But later, love turned into confrontation, petty arguments, mutual suspicion, and misunderstanding.
It also turned into sharp blades that hurt each other, causing Cordelia and William to drift further apart.
The incidents between Cordelia and the bodyguard in those years especially still lingered in his mind.
"William, Cordelia asked me to remind you that tomorrow at eleven in the morning, at the Bellagio Hotel, she will bring her lawyer and contracts. Don't be late," Sophia said,
At this moment, Sophia and Cordelia were on the same side, both hoping William would hand over the shares quickly, fearing any unexpected incidents.
William's expression darkened. "Do you also think I should hand over the shares?"
Sophia remained silent, unsure how to respond to this statement.
"Once the shares are given to Annabelle, I won't have anything to hold over Cordelia," William warned Sophia to think it through. "You are naive. At that point, all our income sources will rely solely on the Cunningham family's trust."
"William, I don't care. I just want to be with you, even if it means enduring hardships together." Sophia's eyes reddened as she leaned into William's embrace, displaying deep affection.
Unfortunately, William fell for Sophia's act, holding her tightly. "You are just too kind."
After saying that, he sighed with a touch of regret, "To be honest, after all these years with you, you haven't gained anything. I feel uncomfortable about it, too."
"Don't say that. I don't want anything from being with you." Sophia quickly silenced William. "I don't even need a formal status; I just want you."
William held Sophia's hand tighter. "If only Cordelia had half your maturity."
Sophia smirked.
Had Cordelia been able to convincingly play the doting wife, Sophia wouldn't stand a chance. Silverlight City Hotel.
When Annabelle entered the room, it was exactly eleven forty-five.
Although Connor had asked her to come after twelve, she was too eager and wanted to see what Connor was up to.
Pushing the door open, the room was dimly lit.
Only a faint light could be seen coming from the direction of the bathroom.
Annabelle didn't turn on the lights; she walked towards the living room, step by step, looking at the rose petals on the floor.
In the center of the living room was a large bouquet of red roses, with a single pale yellow candle in the middle of the roses, its light flickering.
Annabelle felt a flutter in her heart. Was this the surprise Connor had mentioned?
