Chapter 941 Jasmine Can't Get Out of Bed During the Day

Hospital

"Amelia!" Nolan rushed into the hospital room, having only managed to change his clothes in the car without even stopping home for a shower.

Amelia was sipping chicken broth when she saw Nolan burst in.

"You're back earlier than I expected," Amelia said with surprise, setting aside her soup to proudly lift the newborn who hadn't yet opened her eyes. "Look, it's a girl. My gift to you."

Nolan took a deep breath, carefully and nervously taking his daughter into his arms. He kissed Amelia's forehead. "Thank you, sweetheart. You've been through so much."

Amelia shook her head. "It wasn't that bad. I had an epidural, and they did a minimally invasive C-section. Small incision, quick recovery."

Nolan smiled helplessly, gazing nervously at the tiny bundle in his arms.

He never imagined he'd become a father.

Holding Ellis had felt incredible before, but holding his own daughter was something entirely different—something magical.

"Do you like her?" Amelia asked.

Nolan nodded.

Amelia sighed with relief. "Good, because you need to take her for a while. I desperately need sleep. She won't let me rest—cries the moment I try to close my eyes. Nobody could calm her down. Your mom was up all night until Jasmine came and sent her home to rest."

Nolan smiled sympathetically. "Of course. I'll hold her while you get some sleep."

The moment Amelia's head touched the pillow, she was out cold, which astonished Nolan.

It was clear evidence of how physically demanding childbirth truly was.

While Amelia and the baby slept peacefully, Nolan, despite being up all night rushing back, felt no trace of fatigue. Looking at his daughter, then at Amelia, his emotions were overwhelming.

His family had grown by one little princess.

Amelia was already like a child he needed to cherish, and now there was another.

"Nolan, let me hold her for a bit so you can rest," Jasmine offered, returning from washing her hands in the bathroom after finishing a call.

Nolan shook his head. "I'd rather keep holding her. I'll sleep tonight—helps with the jet lag anyway."

Jasmine smiled resignedly. "Well, the nurse is here if you need anything. Call me if there's an emergency. I should head home for a bit."

Her husband had returned, and she needed to check on him.

"Sure, go ahead," Nolan nodded.

Jasmine smiled at the sight of Nolan's happiness.

At least there were no regrets now.

If only Nolan's health could fully recover, if he could stop being sick and facing the threat of death—that would be perfect.

Jasmine couldn't bear to think about it. The thought of Nolan's illness and the possibility of losing him was too painful. She turned quickly to leave before disrupting the peaceful atmosphere with her emotions.

At Lily's residence.

Having been outmaneuvered by Jasmine, Lily now found herself hounded by Silverlight City media, accusing her of seducing Ethan.

For days, Lily hadn't dared leave her home!

"Jasmine!" Lily screamed her name in fury, smashing items off her table.

Her attempt to target Jasmine had backfired spectacularly.

"Vincent still refuses to see me?" Lily frantically asked her assistant.

Since that day, Vincent had refused all contact. Lily was desperate to explain that she hadn't seduced Ethan, but Vincent wouldn't give her the chance.

She called him repeatedly, but he never answered.

The public perception of her had plummeted. First Beck, then Rhett, and now Ethan.

Terrified of losing Vincent, Lily was nearly in tears as she continued calling him.

"Get out!" When Vincent didn't answer, Lily took her frustration out on her assistant.

The assistant backed away fearfully before leaving.

Once alone, Lily collapsed on the sofa and texted Vincent: [Please believe me. Jasmine is framing me. I never seduced Ethan—we've barely even spoken. Please trust me.]

Vincent never responded.

Now Lily was truly afraid.

She sat on the sofa, biting her fingernails.

Could Vincent know she was still secretly in contact with Beck?

She needed to deal with the Powell family quickly, then cut ties with Beck completely.

Call it betrayal if you must, but Beck had always been someone to be wary of. If he wasn't a friend, he was nothing but an enemy.

She couldn't leave any loose ends.

So Lily called Beck. "I helped you. Now you need to help me. Nolan may not be dead, but the Cunningham family is in disarray. They're no longer untouchable. Meanwhile, the Powell family remains perfectly intact."

Beck's breathing was heavy, clearly in the middle of something unsavory. "What's the rush? Patience is key. The Powell family aren't fools—they won't be easy to deal with."

Lily was growing impatient. "Better sooner than later, before complications arise. Until they're gone, my influence at Powell Corporation remains limited, which affects our partnership."

"I get it," Beck replied in a low voice, as a woman's scream echoed in the background.

Lily's expression darkened with disgust as she quickly hung up. "Disgusting psychopath..." she murmured.

Beck was the kind of man who deserved to die.

At Ethan's place.

When Jasmine returned home, Ethan was showering.

Justin and Joe were still at Connor's place. Though they lived next door, Jasmine welcomed the rare moment of quiet. Let Connor and Tom experience the joy of childcare for a while.

Jasmine sneaked into the bedroom and was about to open the bathroom door when she was met with a cloud of steam.

Ethan opened the door completely naked, colliding with Jasmine who was about to enter.

Even after years of marriage, the sight still made his ears flush.

"Hey, beautiful..." Ethan, shameless as ever, casually grabbed a towel to dry his hair while putting on a pitiful expression. "I've been on planes all night. I'm exhausted. What are you doing home at this hour? No work today?"

"Edgar's handling things, so I came to spend time with you," Jasmine said soothingly, worried about how he'd react when she explained the rumors about him and Lily.

"You're the best," Ethan said, draping himself over Jasmine and nuzzling against her. "Come lie down with me."

"You're all wet..." Before she could finish, Jasmine found herself deliberately soaked by his embrace.

"Oh no, your clothes are wet. Let me help you take them off," Ethan feigned surprise, his hands already reaching for the zipper at her waist. "You walked right into me, sweetheart. You can't blame me for this."

Jasmine was speechless with frustration. Before she could respond, Ethan's warm breath was upon her.

"Ethan!"

How could he be seducing her the moment he got home?

"Baby, you have to believe me. You're the only one in my heart and my eyes. I would never flirt with Lily... The media is talking nonsense," Ethan explained softly, afraid she might be angry, his voice tinged with hurt.

After years together, Ethan knew Jasmine's personality perfectly—she always softened when he acted vulnerable.

"About that..." Jasmine said guiltily. "I was the one who told the media."

Ethan paused, his eyes narrowing dangerously.

Jasmine tensed, realizing she probably wouldn't be leaving this bed anytime soon. She regretted her timing—she should have known better than to confess during such an intimate moment.
