Chapter 73 Jasmine Called Ethan for Help

The headlights of several cars were fixed on Jasmine, making it hard for her to keep her eyes open.
While clutching the fruit knife concealed in her sleeve, Jasmine trembled as she backed away.
She wanted to run, but her legs felt heavy. The situation was spiraling out of control.
She could have called Henry for help.
But she chose not to.
She didn't want to cause more trouble for Henry.
"Jasmine, you're quite something," Daniel's eyes were filled with disappointment, and his tone was dripping with sarcasm. "I can’t believe Henry stooped this low."
Numbly, Jasmine withdrew, making an effort to ignore Daniel's sarcasm.
"Jasmine, I told you to stay away," Evan said, lighting a cigarette and leaning against the car.
Daniel approached Jasmine slowly, each step signaled impending danger.
Jasmine felt like she had been plunged into an icy abyss.
"You really had Zelda sent to the police station; I underestimated you," Daniel sneered as he reached out to grab Jasmine by the hair and pulled her towards one of the cars.
"Inside the car, an elegant woman with icy eyes looked at Jasmine with disdain. "Speak up, how much money will make you drop the case?"
Jasmine’s whole body was trembling. "Assault is a crime; it's... it's against the law..."
Zelda's mom sneered. "Jasmine Wilson, do you think I'm here to negotiate with you?"
Jasmine tightly gripped the knife handle. "My name is not Jasmine Wilson... My surname is Avery."
Next to them, Evan's hand, holding the cigarette butt, momentarily stiffened.
He glanced at Jasmine subconsciously, wanting to say something. His throat moved, but no words escaped his lips.
"Three million, is that enough?" Zelda's mom frowned.
"No..." Jasmine winced in pain, her voice becoming hoarser by the second.
"Hmm, not enough?" Zelda's mom got out of the car and looked at Daniel. "She's not listening; what can you do?"
"To deal with a woman like her, we need to use other methods. She's already with Henry; she won't care about three million," Daniel smirked sarcastically as he dragged Jasmine and pushed her into the car.
"Daniel, I leave this matter to you. Don't kill her and make sure she drops the case before the Silverlight City Chamber of Commerce banquet ends tomorrow," Zelda's mom looked at Daniel.
Daniel nodded. "Alright."
Jasmine held onto her phone, trying to call the police discreetly.
Evan noticed Jasmine trying to use the phone. He furrowed his brow, but he didn't stop her.
However, Daniel saw it, snatched Jasmine's phone, and threw it out of the car window.
"Trying to call Henry? He doesn't have time to save you now," Daniel leaned back in his seat, rubbing his temples frantically. "Jasmine, don’t you know you have nowhere to run?"
Jasmine curled up under the car seat and held herself tightly, unsure of what Daniel intended to do.
"When did you start getting involved with Henry? Six years ago or seven years ago? Huh? That little bustard is actually Henry's?!" Daniel laughed, a hint of madness in his voice.
Seeing Jasmine silent, Daniel grabbed her hair and pulled her in front of him. "Jasmine, do you feel no shame?"
"Did I treat you badly? Were you always seducing other men behind my back?" Daniel seemed to be losing his mind.
Jasmine looked at Daniel in fear, not saying a word.
Daniel's attitude clearly angered Jasmine.
"So filthy!"
He found her so repulsive and dirty, yet he couldn't let her go.
"Henry really doesn't discriminate," Daniel said impatiently, forcefully throwing Jasmine's head out.
Jasmine's head hit the car door, making her dizzy.
In the passenger seat, Evan raised his hand to rub his temples, his voice low as he said, "Don't go too far. Our goal is to make her drop the case."
Daniel sneered and said nothing.
The car arrived at an abandoned minefield in Boston, far from the city center. They had been driving for almost an hour.
After Daniel dragged her out of the car, Jasmine stumbled and fell several times on the ground, scraping her knees.
Her pants were now sticking to her bloodied flesh and every movement was now causing her pain.
"I'll ask you again, will you drop the case?" Daniel flung Jasmine into the warehouse.
Struggling to get up, Jasmine shook her head.
She wouldn't drop the case.
With a frown, Daniel kicked Jasmine aside.
Jasmine lay on the ground, coughing persistently.
Evan stood at the doorway, rubbing his temples and saying nothing.
Jasmine coughed for a long time. The taste of blood was now lingering in her throat.
"Let me ask you again. Will you drop the case or not?" Daniel's voice was cold.
"I won't..." Jasmine glared at Daniel with intense hatred. Her voice was hoarse but resolute.
"Jasmine! Do you think having Henry by your side gives you the right to talk to me like this?" Daniel lost control; he grabbed Jasmine's collar, unable to stand her appearance.
"Refusing to drop the case, huh?" Daniel glanced at the people behind him.
There were more than a dozen bodyguards in the warehouse, all waiting in advance.
"They will take turns with you. Do you think Henry will still touch you?" Daniel wasn't bluffing this time.
Clearly, Jasmine being with Henry had thoroughly enraged Daniel, causing him to lose his composure.
Several bodyguards stepped forward, and Daniel spoke in a low voice. "Don't forget to take pictures."
Trembling in terror, Jasmine retreated as tears streamed down her face. "Leave me alone..."
Furrowing his brow, Evan grabbed Daniel. "Are you serious?"
"Do you think scaring her will make her afraid now? With Henry as her backer, is she more afraid of you or me?" Daniel shook off Evan's wrist.
"Daniel, you’re going too far!" Evan felt this approach was too despicable.
"She's already a slut! You think she cares about a few more men?" Daniel grabbed Evan's collar. "You better not mess things up."
Evan pushed Daniel away, remained silent for a moment, then turned and walked away.
Jasmine leaned against a pillar, watching Evan walk away in despair.
She should have given up on him long ago.
Why did she still hold onto a glimmer of hope?
After Daniel gave his orders, he left. He naturally didn’t want to see something that would taint his eyes.
"We are just doing our job for the money. If you agree to drop the case now, we won't harm you." The lead bodyguard said.
Jasmine looked desolate as she sat on the floor and looked up at the group. "Rape carries a prison sentence... Besides, with so many of you here..."
"This place is secluded; who would know?" A brash man chuckled. "Whether you consent or not, I'll go first. Even Mr. Patrick touched her, so she must be safe. Besides, the money Mr. Douglas gave us is worth a few years in prison."
"Hahaha." The men laughed and joked.
After speaking, the man began to undo his pants.
Jasmine held the knife against her own neck. "And what if it's murder?"
The bodyguard furrowed his brow as he looked at Jasmine, who was pale but not trembling.
What was she implying?
Jasmine fiercely dragged the knife across her neck and dark red blood gushed out instantly.
The men looked at each other in horror. "This woman is insane!"
The sin of murder was something they couldn't bear.
With a weak smile, Jasmine leaned against the pillar.
When everyone had run off, she used a scarf to press against the wound, then slowly got up and walked out of the warehouse.
When Daniel dragged her into the car, she struggled and lost a shoe.
She walked barefoot on the road, so the gravel was piercing her soles, but she was numb to the pain.
The scarf had been soaked through with blood.
Jasmine knew that if she didn't seek treatment soon, she would die.
She didn't know how long she had been walking when she felt the dawn approaching.
Finally, by the roadside, she saw a person jogging.
"Can I... borrow your phone?" Jasmine asked.
The person looked at Jasmine in horror; she was covered in blood and walking alone in this remote area, "Miss, I'll call the police for you!"
Jasmine shook her head, her voice trembling. "May I use your phone, please?"
The passerby quickly handed his phone to Jasmine.
After a moment of thought, Jasmine dialed Ethan's number.
Since the day Ethan gave her his business card, she had memorized his number.
