Chapter 726 Lily Has Completely Turned Bad
Jasmine was worried that Ethan's wound would hurt on the plane. "Should we wait a day before going back?"
"Let's go back as soon as possible. I'm okay." Ethan held Jasmine's hand. "Lily has gone mad. She killed Emily. She is ruthless."
Jasmine lowered her head, tears welling up in her eyes. "Okay."
In the Powell family, Lily was a mess—nervous, scared, and conflicted.
Jasmine had been kind to her; she didn't want it to end like this.
But if Jasmine found out she killed Emily, Jasmine would never forgive her. Lily had no choice.
She didn't want this either.
"Madam, he's here." A man wearing a hat and mask walked in from outside, his face obscured.
"You bastard!" Lily lost control and rushed at the man, trying to hit him, but he stopped her with a stern voice.
"I'm helping you. If Emily isn't eliminated, she will definitely tell Jasmine the secret. Do you think Emily was genuinely trying to please you? Do you believe that?" The man's voice was low.
Lily sat powerlessly on the sofa; she had no way out.
This man had almost driven her to the brink.
"Lily, destiny is in your own hands. Remember, I was once like you, thinking I was just unlucky. But luck can be changed, understand?" the man spoke coldly. "You have no way out. Emily is dead. If Jasmine and Ethan return alive, you know how powerful your enemies will be."
Lily trembled. She knew how terrifying Ethan was and how smart Jasmine was.
She hadn't secured her place in the Powell family yet, relying only on the twins she was carrying. To truly establish herself, she had to act fast to replace Amara in the family.
"You're smart. You know that cooperating with me is the only way to win. If I win, you win." The man sneered.
Lily clenched her hands and looked up at the man. "There's no other way. We cooperate. You help me secure my position, and I'll help you get everything you want."
Ethan and Jasmine safely arrived in San Fransisco, and Brandon's people came to pick them up.
"We're safe," Raymond said.
Tom and Ben also breathed a sigh of relief but remained vigilant.
In San Fransisco, no one dared to make a move in the crowd.
However, on the Powell family side, Lily should have already received the news that Ethan and Jasmine didn't board the ship.
"Let's go to the Cunningham family first." Ethan held Jasmine's hand. It was better to stay at the Cunningham family for now; with Vincent being a lunatic, home wasn't safe either.
Jasmine nodded.
"What's Bradley's situation these days?" Ethan asked.
Brandon raised an eyebrow. "Still the same routine: the Douglas Group, home, and occasionally the grocery."
Ethan sighed in relief. "Then he probably hasn't been turned. Mark thinks Bradley is his man. I had Bradley pretend to cooperate with them temporarily. Don't make things too hard for him."
Brandon was taken aback and looked back at Ethan. "Why didn't you say so earlier?"
He had more than just made things hard for Bradley; he had almost driven him to death.
Brandon hadn't expected Bradley to endure so much. The other day, when he attacked Bradley, he wouldn't have known how badly Bradley was injured if he hadn't smelled the blood.
That idiot, why didn't he say anything?
Brandon bullied him so much, and he didn't even make a sound.
"Don't always do things you'll regret," Ethan said helplessly.
"How was I supposed to know?" Brandon was a bit defiant.
Jasmine was also surprised. "I didn't expect Bradley to join us voluntarily."
Jasmine had also said many hurtful things to Bradley.
"It's okay. Bradley doesn't have much ambition. He even gave half of his shares to Daniel, which diluted the shares." Ethan comforted Jasmine, and she nodded.
Emily's death had hit Jasmine hard. Since returning from Kerea, she had been silent and withdrawn.
Ethan was afraid she would overthink, so he stayed with her.
Bradley tiredly opened the door and came home, his face pale and his wound still hurting.
He put down his bag and saw Brandon sitting on the sofa.
Startled, Bradley looked at Brandon nervously. "When did you get here? Why didn't you say anything?"
"Why are you back so late?" Brandon frowned. "They said you left the company a long time ago."
Bradley sighed wearily and took out antibiotics from his bag, placing them on the table. "My wound got infected. I went to get antibiotics and medicine. If you don't believe me, you can check the hospital's surveillance of me getting an IV."
Brandon was taken aback and looked away.
He didn't mean to say those things, but the words came out wrong.
"I cook for myself. I'm not used to takeout, you know that." Bradley placed a bunch of vegetables on the dining table.
"Are you a vegetarian?" Brandon, trying to ease the awkwardness, got up and looked at the bag, which was full of vegetables with no meat.
"I don't really like meat," Bradley said, ignoring Brandon and taking the bag into the kitchen.
The kitchen was spotless, and Bradley kept the small apartment very clean. Brandon thought, 'Just like him, clean and neat.'
Brandon was startled by his own thoughts. He was really going crazy.
Bradley was a man, after all.
Could the rumors that Brandon liked men become true if they kept spreading? No, he needed to find a girlfriend quickly.
"Hey." Brandon coughed. "I'm hungry too. Whatever you're making, make some for me too, but I eat meat."
Bradley glanced back at Brandon, then helplessly took out a box of frozen shrimp from the fridge. "How about shrimp and vegetable noodles?"
Brandon looked at the shrimp. "Is it expired?"
Bradley gritted his teeth. "Then don't eat it."
"I'll eat, I'll eat. Don't be so grumpy." Brandon leaned against the fridge and nodded at Bradley. "Hey, I didn't know you were hurt. I'm sorry."
Bradley paused while handling the shrimp. He actually apologized.
Without turning around, Bradley's eyes reddened a bit, and he continued cooking.
Brandon found Bradley boring and went to sit on the sofa, looking at his phone.
Bradley's phone rang; it was an unknown caller.
Brandon instinctively glanced at the phone and answered it cautiously.
Brandon didn't speak at first, waiting for the other person to talk.
"Your mom left some things with me. Come pick them up when you have time," the other person remained silent for a while, waiting for Bradley to speak, then finally said something.
Brandon sighed in relief. Was it a family member?
"Bradley, your phone."
Bradley hurried out of the kitchen, took the phone, and looked at Brandon.
"I accidentally answered it. I didn't mean to," Brandon explained.
Bradley sighed and said nothing, taking the call to the side.
"Okay," he said. "Goodbye, Aunt."
"Why don't you save your aunt's number?" Brandon asked out of boredom.
"I memorize my family's numbers in my head, just in case I get kidnapped and they find my family's numbers to threaten them," Bradley said softly.
Brandon was taken aback. He had said the wrong thing again.
