Chapter 426 Jasmine Taught Dean a Lesson for Cordelia
Jasmine and Ethan were terrified when they received news of Cordelia's car accident and rushed over in a panic.
Nolan, Edward, and Edgar also arrived, each with a grim expression. They had already checked the surveillance footage on their way.
"The license plate is fake," Edward said in a low voice, "It's clearly premeditated, and the target is obviously Arnold."
Nolan snorted coldly. "Have the cameras locked onto them?"
"The police have already sealed off all the intersections. If they still manage to escape, it means they're not only premeditated but also very professional." Edward frowned. These people looked somewhat familiar.
"Look at this video." Edward enlarged the surveillance footage. "The man wearing the hat has a snake-shaped tattoo on the back of his hand. Do you remember? Over twenty years ago, the mercenary who killed our mom on the cruise ship and then jumped into the sea had the same tattoo."
Nolan's face darkened. "Is it a coincidence, or is there a definite connection?"
"There's a connection." Cordelia, sitting by the roadside, tightly held Jasmine's hand. "There must be a connection."
Cordelia had a headache. "The people who wanted me dead over twenty years ago are definitely related to Willian and Sophia. Today, they met Arnold. Willian doesn't know Arnold's true identity and thinks he's still the bodyguard from over twenty years ago."
Willian must be out of his mind.
Nolan frowned and was about to call the police when Willian's car pulled up by the roadside.
Willian, acting abnormally today, insisted on staying overnight at the Cunningham family. He probably heard about Cordelia's car accident from the nanny and rushed over in a hurry.
As soon as he got out of the car, Willian walked over to Cordelia. "I told you that guy is useless, can't do anything right. You've been unlucky ever since you got involved with him, and you still haven't learned after twenty years."
Willian got more worked up, continuously criticizing Arnold. "A poor man with no abilities is just after your money. A woman like you, no one can tolerate being married to you."
Willian actually wanted to say that no one but him could tolerate her, but the words came out harsh.
Nolan frowned, looking at Willian. "If you can't say anything properly and do anything helpful, just go home."
"You can't talk to me like that. I'm your father!" Willian wanted to assert his authority in the family, but his three sons didn't respect him and didn't take him seriously at all.
Even his daughter was distant from him.
"You should go back," Edward said with a dark expression.
Edgar, with a bad temper, said nothing and directly opened Willian's car door, dragging him and pushing him into the car. "Don't catch a cold, just leave. Seeing you gives me a headache."
Willian's face turned black with anger as he looked at Cordelia. "Cordelia, is this how you raise your sons?"
Cordelia remained silent the whole time, absent-minded, thinking about where Arnold might be.
Suddenly snapping back to reality, Cordelia stood up and rushed at Willian, grabbing his collar tightly. "Where is he? Where did you take him? If he's hurt, you'll regret it..."
That was Arnold!
He was no longer the Guadalupe of the past!
If something happened to Arnold and Willian was the mastermind, the conflict between the Cunningham Group and the Sanders Group would be hard to resolve.
"You're not even pretending anymore? You're openly protecting him. What's your relationship with him? You two have definitely had something going on all these years. Are you keeping a man behind my back, Cordelia? You..." Willian said angrily.
Cordelia slapped Willian across the face. "Shut up."
Jasmine, feeling sorry for Cordelia, gently hugged her and then turned to Willian. "Those who betray marriage vows should be subject to punishment; you are not entitled to judge others through the lens of your own sordid perspective."
"Jasmine!" Willian felt his authority slipping away; they all didn't respect him. "You just returned to the Cunningham family, and you have no manners. I'm your father!"
"Then how was I switched at birth?" Jasmine questioned Willian.
Willian, feeling guilty, let out a cold laugh. "I didn't take good care of you and your mother, but..."
"No buts. My mother gave you four children, which means she gave you four chances. You never cherished any of them and hurt her every time," Jasmine said, understanding Cordelia's situation.
Cordelia must have initially held some affection for Willian; their multitude of children surely wasn't the product of indifference.
Initially, there must have been something about Willian that attracted Cordelia.
But over time, his repeated betrayals exhausted all the feelings she had.
"I always believe that every action or decision brings corresponding consequences," Jasmine said as she helped Cordelia to the side.
Willian sat in the car, silent for a long time, then spoke in a deep voice, "Cordelia, I didn't take Guadalupe. I wouldn't stoop so low as to use such a dirty trick on anyone."
Cordelia glanced at him. "Then go ask Sophia. Tell her that she has really gotten herself into a major predicament this time."
Willian sighed. "Cordelia, Sophia is very kind. She wouldn't do such a thing. You don't need to take it out on her."
"Screw her kindness." Edgar's temper flared, and he wanted to fight Willian.
Edward and Nolan quickly held Edgar back, preventing him from actually charging at Willian.
Jasmine sighed, "You can't be reasoned with."
Looking at Willian with pity, Jasmine spoke again, "Luckily, my brothers and I didn't inherit your eye condition. After all, blindness is hard to cure."
Ethan looked at Jasmine and smiled.
Recently, Jasmine had really changed a lot.
A good family and love were always the best nutrients for healing the cracks in a person's soul.
Willian was so angry that his lips trembled. "Do you really think that just because you have the shares, you can be so arrogant? I'm your father. If I want, I can sue you anytime to get them back!"
"Don't let the door hit you on the way out." Nolan signaled the driver to start the car.
The driver, not daring to offend Nolan, drove off with Willian.
"He's beyond reasoning," Nolan sighed.
"Actually, you can't say that none of them resemble Willian. Nolan is quite similar," Ethan said.
Nolan gritted his teeth and glared at Ethan, worried about the sibling bond he had just spent two billion dollars to repair.
So, Nolan looked nervously at Jasmine. "Jasmine, don't worry. I am different from him. I can admit my mistakes and change."
Jasmine chuckled. "Nolan, let's find Mr. Sanders first."
