Chapter 450 Karen Was Getting Crazier and Crazier

Evan was forcibly confined to his room. For his broken leg, he fell to the ground as soon as he got out of bed.

His face darkened, then he crawled to the door and knocked. "Open the door for me."

There was no response from outside.

He pounded the door in frustration and said in a  low voice, "I'm hungry. Open the door."

Soon, the maid brought some food.

Seeing the door open, he wanted to go out, but his leg hurt terribly.

He thought Karen had gone mad because she hadn't let a doctor treat his leg.

Clearly, Karen was punishing him as she did when he was a child. Only when he behaved would she give him so-called rewards and then continue to make him obey.

Evan let out a sarcastic laugh; she still treated him like a three-year-old child.

"Give me the phone," Evan demanded from the maid.

The maid looked at Evan nervously and said, "Evan, just give in to your mom. You know, with all the upheavals in the family, her emotions are very unstable right now."

Evan said with a frown, "Tell her my leg hurts terribly, and I can't bear it."

The maid nodded and quickly ran out.

Evan propped himself up through gritted teeth and took one step at a time towards the door.

His leg hurt so much it felt numb. Evan took a deep breath and quickly walked to the living room to make a call.

Karen walked in from outside and had the butler restrain Evan.

Evan looked at Karen angrily. "Am I even your son?"

"Of course you are, but you are disobedient, and it breaks my heart," Karen sighed as she walked over. "Evan, if you would listen to me, both the Wilson family and the Everhart family would be ours. Wouldn't that be wonderful?"

Evan clenched his fists. "If my leg isn't treated soon, it will be permanently disabled. Are you insane?"

Evan felt increasingly estranged from his mother.

He also felt she was growing more and more insane.

She was truly mad.

The first time he thought she was mad was when Jasmine's identity was exposed. Karen had really lost it then.

This time, she was even crazier than before.

"Evan, I want to have a good talk with you. I am the person who love you most in this world," Karen began to persuade him again.

Evan only felt disgusted. He asked angrily, "What exactly do you want?"

"When Jasmine's identity was exposed, you disregarded nearly twenty years of upbringing and changed your attitude in an instant," Evan said with a sarcastic smile, warning the butler not to approach him.

"At that time, I was puzzled. For the first twenty-one years, as a mother, you showed Jasmine no indulgence but at least normal affection. Why did you change so drastically just because you found out she wasn't your daughter?"

That year, when it was revealed that Jasmine was not Benjamin's biological daughter, Karen's face changed almost instantly.

Evan had found many excuses for Karen, such as she considered Jasmine as May's daughter, and May had once been the family's maid and Benjamin's mistress.

These excuses were valid at first, and Karen used them to play the victim and deceive Evan repeatedly.

Evan thought May was at fault. A mistress having an affair with Benjamin and secretly swapping the Wilson family's child was extremely malicious.

And Jasmine, even if she was not at fault for the identity swap, was wrong simply for being May's daughter. She had lived the life of the Wilson family's daughter under May's premeditated plan.

So Jasmine owed Serena and had to repay her.

Evan once believed that even if Jasmine was not the Wilson family's daughter, Karen would show some leniency for the sake of twenty-one years of affection. At most, Jasmine would be expelled from the Wilson family, but he never expected Karen would eliminate her completely.

Knowing that Jasmine had a heart condition, Karen repeatedly harmed her, aiming to take Jasmine's life.

Now, it all seemed to make sense. "You don't love anyone. You don't love Alex, Benjamin, Jasmine, and certainly not me."

Evan laughed sarcastically. "You don't love Serena, and the so-called biological sister who hasn't been found yet either."

Evan continued to say, "You were good to Jasmine because she was Benjamin's daughter and could legally inherit his assets and shares." He finally saw through Karen.

"Later, you were good to Serena for the same reason—because Benjamin said he would only pass his shares and assets to his own children."

Evan had overheard Benjamin and Karen arguing.

He had eavesdropped and learned then that he was not Benjamin's biological son.

That year, Evan was still in college, and Karen had already started planning for Evan to intern at the Wilson Group after graduation.

Karen wanted Benjamin to give shares to Evan, and Benjamin could see through it.

Benjamin said, "The shares of the Wilson Group can only be inherited by my children. Evan is not qualified."

Not long after, the news that Jasmine was not the real daughter of the Wilson family was exposed.

During that time, Evan was in a state of shock and anxiety for knowing his true identity, and also in a state of guilt towards his mother, believing that Karen had endured many grievances in the Wilson family for his sake.

Karen had always instilled this idea in him.

As a result, he obeyed Karen's every word.

Especially regarding Jasmine, he did many things against his own conscience.

Evan hated himself because he knew that what he had done to Jasmine and Justin was irreparable and unforgivable.

He hated Karen even more because the so-called mother had ruined him.

Sometimes Evan even thought he might have been picked up from somewhere, neither Karen's son nor Benjamin's.

"Now you're desperately trying to find your daughter, not because you care about your biological daughter or want to find her, but because you want to get all of Benjamin's assets, " said Evan.

He had seen through Karen, and Karen no longer hid her intentions.

She even orchestrated a car accident on his usual route, causing him to break his leg to gain Alex's sympathy.

She was truly mad.

"Evan, do you know how I've lived all these years? Because you, Benjamin has treated me coldly for over twenty years. I did it all for you," Karen said earnestly.

She started pretending with red eyes.

In the past, Evan would have felt guilty and cried on the spot, then listened to whatever Karen said.

He would do anything to make Karen happy.

But now, Evan only felt disgusted and overwhelmed.

"Stop pretending," Evan said. He was out of control.

He finally understood the helplessness and struggle Jasmine had felt at that time.

"Evan, why are you so ungrateful? Alex's assets should belong to you. You are my only son and I would never harm you." said Karen.

Her initial thought was to make Evan be completely obedient.

But recently, for some reason, Evan had become increasingly disobedient.

Now it seemed it was all because of Jasmine.

Jasmine was a troublemaker.

From the moment she appeared in their family, she brought bad luck.

"I won't listen to you anymore," Evan said, then he collapsed weakly to the ground.

"Evan," Karen's face darkened, clearly showing displeased. "I raised Jasmine for twenty-one years, and she turns out to be the Cunningham family's biological daughter. Does she owe me for those twenty-one years of upbringing?"
