Chapter 309 Sophia's Crazy Bite
In the Grace Manor, Willian was wearing a robe, leaning on the couch, reading the newspaper.
"Willian," Sophia, who had just finished her spa, leaned on Willian, looked a bit exhausted, completely relying on him.
For someone like Willian, who came from a prestigious family, Sophia being completely devoted to him made him feel accomplished and proud.
However, Cordelia was too dominant and always overshadowed him.
Willian was a traditional male chauvinist, and he couldn't bear hearing everyone praise him for having found a good wife who was superior to him in both ability and social skills.
"Tired?" Willian raised his hand and pulled Sophia into his arms.
"Not really, just feeling sentimental. Cordelia's child has finally been found. All these years, my heart has been always hanging." Sophia spoke softly.
Willian snorted. "My daughter is nothing more than a tool that she used to manipulate me. She deliberately lost the child to get my attention and make me come back to her."
Over the years, Willian resented Cordelia because he believed that Cordelia intentionally lost his daughter, which made him feel guilty.
"Annabelle has suffered so much, but luckily, the Harper family has been kind to her," Willian grumbled, throwing the magazine on the table. "You are too kind-hearted. You've been with me for all these years without any recognition, never complaining. I've mistreated you."
Sophia's eyes turned red as she smiled and spoke, "After all these years, you're still talking about this. We may not have a marriage certificate, but we've been a couple for decades."
"I know how much you've sacrificed for me all these years," Willian felt sorry for Sophia. She willingly carried the label of a homewrecker for him, enduring hardships to stay by his side. It was not easy for her.
Sophia leaned into Willian's embrace. She said, "Don't say these. I love you deeply."
Willian comforted her by caressing her head.
"Willian, Annabelle has been found. According to our previous agreement, we should transfer the shares to her. She has gone through a lot, suffering from depression and attempting suicide several times," Sophia sighed.
Willian cast his gaze downward at Sophia, feeling even more remorseful and said, "You are so kind-hearted... if Cordelia were like you..."
As he said this, Willian’s brows furrowed, and disgust flashing in his eyes.
Sophia held onto Willian tightly. "Don't say that. Cordelia gave birth to four children for you, supporting the Cunningham family. She's had a tough life."
"Relying on three sons, she became arrogant and thought she was the savior of the Cunningham family in Bill's eyes." Willian still harbored grievances toward Cordelia.
Sophia smirked and hugged Willian. "We must still give the shares to Annabelle."
Willian scoffed. "Let's play it by ear."
As long as he held shares in the Cunningham family, Cordelia valued him. Once his shares were empty, she might not want to maintain this marriage anymore, considering that their children had grown up.
Willian was angry at Cordelia's dominance. While he selfishly didn't want to divorce and truly end this relationship.
Perhaps he was conflicted.
Sophia leaned against Willian's chest and whispered, "Cordelia has been looking for you many times. I always said you were unwell and brushed her off, but Annabelle has already come back."
Sophia hoped that Willian would quickly let go of his shares.
However, Willian stubbornly refused.
Sophia wasn't foolish, she knew what Willian was thinking.
With these shares, Willian and Cordelia, along with their three sons, would still have a connection and a relationship. Those three sons would still have to call him father.
But once all ties and connections were completely severed, Cordelia and her sons would probably not even bother to look at him.
Sophia wanted Willian, but it was not enough.
Back then, it was because Bill saw Sophia's ambition that he kicked Willian out of the house.
Sophia ended up shooting herself in the foot.
She knew that relying on a man could not have been more dependable.
Even though she had tried her best to keep Willian, she also knew that a man's heart could change, and he could fall in love with someone else at any time.
Rather than relying on Willian to plan for her future, it would be better to firmly hold the shares of the Cunningham family in her hands.
Cordelia was so capable and career-oriented that the Cunningham family would only distance her further. If she held the shares of the Cunningham family, it would be like Cordelia and the Cunningham family's three sons working for her for the rest of their lives.
Sophia got up to massage Willian's shoulders and said, "You've had a long day. Go rest."
Willian patted Sophia's hand and got up to leave.
They had been together for so many years, yet they both harbored their intentions.
Seeing Willian go back to the room, Sophia stood up and made a phone call.
"Have you made contact with anyone from the Cunningham's family?"
On the other end of the line, Luna's voice stuttered a bit. "Madam, Edward and Nolan are too cautious. It's hard to make contact. But I do have a chance with Edgar. We've already met."
Sophia scoffed. "Edgar is the most foolish one in the Cunningham family. What's the use of getting close to him?"
What Sophia wanted most was letting Luna make contact with Nolan.
"I will try my best," Luna's voice sounded hoarse.
"Today, Edgar took me to Jasmine and Ethan's residence." Luna spoke again. "It seems like Edgar is interested in Jasmine. He's making every effort to compete with Ethan."
Sophia paused for a moment, then burst into laughter. "What? Edgar has set his sights on Jasmine? That's interesting."
The development of the situation was truly beyond her expectations.
It seemed much more intriguing now.
Someone like Edgar, a playboy with countless women, is interested in Jasmine!
If Edgar and Jasmine were to be together, even if the truth were to come to light in the future, it would be a huge blow to Cordelia.
Sophia chuckled sarcastically, leaning back on the couch.
"Since he's interested in Jasmine, you should help him get her. Do you understand?" Sophia told Luna, instructing her to find a way to get Jasmine into Edgar's bed.
Luna remained silent for a long time.
"Did you hear me?" Sophia became a little annoyed.
"I got it." Luna stammered.
"You did well. I'll have someone transfer $15,600 to you later. Be obedient, and I won't mistreat you."
After hanging up, Sophia was in a good mood.
Now, she wasn't in a rush for Jasmine to die.
As long as Jasmine didn't die and had that kind of encounter with Edgar, even if the truth were to come out one day, Sophia wanted to see if Cordelia could remain arrogant.
Cordelia already suffered from severe depression, and she wouldn't be able to handle the shock of her son and biological daughter being together.
If Cordelia died, no one in this world could stop Sophia.
