Chapter 744 Richard was bullied by the Willer family.

At Betty's home.

A nanny was holding the baby, and Betty was alone.

"Why isn't he back yet?" Betty muttered.

It was almost midnight. Richard was very responsible, he wouldn't just forget to come home.

"Jasmine, is Richard still at your place?" Betty called Jasmine.

There was the sound of a baby crying, and then Jasmine spoke, exhausted. "No, he didn't come over today."

Jasmine had been out of the hospital for half a month, and it was clear how tough it was for this new mom.

Her little princess was very delicate, even the nanny couldn't hold her without her crying. Only Jasmine and Ethan could hold her without her fussing.

"Is your little princess crying again?" Betty glanced at her own baby, who never cried or fussed, and was quite sturdy. "Compared to yours, mine is more like a boy."

"We can't spoil a child. The little princess knows she has a lot of people to rely on, so she cries at the drop of a hat. When she cries, my mom feels sorry for her and has to comfort her. The uncles rush over, practically spoiling her too much." Jasmine was already gritting her teeth. "I've realized how serious this is. I'm planning to send her to the mountains to grow up independently."

In Jasmine's view, her daughter was being spoiled rotten.

"Stop it." Betty was amused. "By the way, Lily was bailed out and went back to Kerea. She met the conditions for serving her sentence outside of prison and showed significant remorse. Her lawyer argued for her acquittal, saying Xavier's death wasn't caused by her."

On the other end, Jasmine was silent.

She knew very well what it meant for Lily to be bailed out and return to her Kerea.

Mark still hadn't been caught, and now Lily was back.

This meant that after a period of quiet, they would come back with a vengeance.

The Silverlight City market was like a piece of juicy meat, and the Powell family had always wanted to enter the Silverlight City market. Lily wouldn't give up such a good opportunity.

Greed and desire could make a person unrecognizable.

"I'll talk to you later. It looks like Richard is back." Betty hung up the phone and got up to ask Richard where he had been.

Lately, he had started staying out all night.

"Richard, where have you been?" Betty was about to question him when she saw Richard drunkenly collapse on the sofa.

Betty started to get angry. She had just had a baby not long ago, and now Richard was staying out all night and coming home drunk!

"Where have you been?" Betty walked over and kicked Richard.

Richard turned over and buried himself in the sofa, not saying a word.

Betty was furious and yanked at Richard. "Where did you get this perfume smell on you?"

Richard was too drunk to explain and continued to sleep without a word.

Betty was so angry she could hardly breathe.

She had never imagined that after getting married and having a child, she would become the person she most despised.

But it was because she cared about him.

If Betty didn't care about Richard, she wouldn't care if he drank himself to death.

"Betty, you're great." Richard spoke staccato. "Don't you dare say she's not."

Betty stormed back to her room, while Richard continued to mumble.

Betty ignored Richard, letting him deal with the consequences of his drinking.

But she couldn't help herself and called Silas. "Where did Richard go tonight to get so drunk?"

"It seems your family called him over to have a drink, and then your cousins got him drunk. If Dr. Ryan hadn't shown up, they would have kept forcing drinks on Richard. Richard didn't want to embarrass you in front of your family," Silas said quietly.

Betty's heart tightened.

The fact that Richard was Arnold's son was a secret, no one knew that Richard was the sole heir to the Sanders Group.

Especially Betty's family, who all thought Richard was just the son of a nanny with poor family conditions.

Her damn relatives had always been looking for opportunities to belittle her.

Back when Betty was kidnapped, these so-called relatives were shockingly indifferent. Now, they were all bullying Richard.

Betty knew they looked down on Richard and bullied him. Every time they visited, they would openly order Richard around, even though there were servants available. They would say Richard was a bodyguard and should do physical work.

Betty had defended Richard many times, but Richard was too kind. He felt they were her family, so he was willing to do whatever they asked.

This time, they had really crossed Betty's line.

After hanging up, Betty called Ryan. "Are you still up?"

Ryan sighed. "I have an early shift tomorrow. I finally got off early, and now my family and you are both calling me."

"How old are you, and you're still not married?" Betty squinted her eyes.

Ryan was silent for a moment before speaking. "What do you need? Just tell me."

"I heard there was a family gathering today, and they didn't invite me. They called Richard over to bully him? How can you not protect Richard as my brother?" Betty gritted her teeth.

"I got off work late. I protected him as soon as I went" Ryan protested.

"I don't care. If you don't help me this time, I'll bring up your unmarried status in the family group chat and shift the focus onto you." Betty gritted her teeth.

Ryan felt wronged. "Betty, just tell me what you want."

"I remember Malcolm from the Willer family likes to bully Richard, right?" Betty squinted her eyes. "Tomorrow, bring up Malcolm's infertility in the group chat. If Malcolm is infertile, where did Abigai's two kids come from?"

On the other end, Ryan gasped. "You're just stirring up trouble."

Malcolm had been diagnosed with congenital azoospermia during a check-up, but he didn't know about it.

The most ridiculous part was that he and Abigai had three kids over the years.

No one had ever questioned where Abigai's kids came from.

Ryan was shocked, but it was Abigai who had come to get the results, looking panicked and threatening Ryan to keep quiet, insisting there was a mistake.

Ryan hadn't let it out, but Betty, who was there for a prenatal check-up, had overheard.

If they didn't mess with her, she wouldn't mess with them.

Betty wouldn't let their family live in peace.

"Betty, I'd recommend against it." Ryan said quietly. "And don't make me do it. If I say it, they'll kill me."

"Ryan, you and I are the closest. We need to be on the same side. If you don't make a sacrifice, how can I trust you?" Betty smiled. "It's time for you to show your loyalty. Otherwise, I'll tell Nolan about you sleeping with his precious sister when she was drunk. Do you think Nolan, the overprotective brother, will kill you?"

Ryan felt a headache coming on.

One mistake led to another, and now Betty had him completely under her thumb.

"Betty, give me a few days. Just watch the family group chat for the drama." Ryan gritted his teeth and hung up.

The world had gone mad, and there was no one sane left.

Let it all go crazy.
