Chapter 899 Brandon Bullies Bradley Again

The Douglas Group.

The Douglas Group announced bankruptcy, marking the end of a century-old enterprise.

Although the Douglas Group changed its name and all employees were transferred to the Raymond Group with the same benefits, it was still considered bankrupt to the public.

Bradley had just come downstairs when he saw a black SUV parked below.

Brandon was leaning against the car door, frowning as he looked at Bradley.

Bradley walked with a limp because a previous car accident had left him with a comminuted fracture of the tibia. Even though he had recovered, his walking was still affected.

When he saw Brandon, he froze for a moment and instinctively lowered his head, wanting to run.

In Bradley's view, Brandon was the typical straightforward man. Bradley liked men, something he had known since he was very young.

And Brandon only used his injury to provoke him.

"Why are you running? Your leg is crippled, can you even run?" Brandon frowned and spoke in a deep voice.

He was really terrible with words; he always managed to say the wrong thing.

Bradley clenched his hands tightly. He was disabled, with steel pins still in his leg, but he didn't think this was something that could be used to provoke him.

"Do you need something?" Bradley stopped and looked back at Brandon.

"You used my trust to destroy the Douglas Group, don't you think you owe me an explanation?" Brandon asked.

Bradley was silent for a moment before speaking. "There's nothing to explain. Whatever you think is the truth."

Brandon grabbed Bradley's wrist. "Do you think I'm here to be polite with you?"

He shoved Bradley into the car, and Bradley locked the car door once inside.

"Brandon! This is illegal detention, it's kidnapping. I will call the police." Bradley angrily pounded on the seat.

"Go ahead, call the police." Brandon stepped on the gas and drove off.

Bradley was too angry to speak and didn't call the police.

The car stopped in Brandon's garage, and Bradley finally spoke. "Why did you bring me here?"

"Recently, the Murray family and the Powell family have been getting close to Vincent. I suspect that Vincent will team up with the Murray family and the Powell family to go against the Raymond Group. To prevent you from getting involved, I have to deal with you first, just like before." Brandon got out of the car and opened the door.

He actually didn't want Bradley to get involved.

Vincent was unpredictable, and who knew what he was thinking at any given time. Bradley always got hurt when he was with him.

His leg was a living example.

"You have no right to treat me like this." Bradley shook off Brandon's hand and tried to leave. "What I do and who I do it with is my freedom."

"Bradley!" Brandon was a bit angry and directly slammed him against the wall. "Don't force me to get physical with you."

Bradley's back hurt badly, and he angrily looked at Brandon. He always resorted to threats and violence.

"I heard you have a girlfriend now and are about to get engaged. Does your girlfriend know I'm gay? If she knew, would she still agree to let me stay here?" Bradley threatened Brandon.

"Or, I could tell your girlfriend that you, to humiliate and control me, almost had sex with me even though you don't like men?" Bradley's voice was trembling.

His brows were well-shaped, lacking Ethan's sharpness and intensity, but his eyes, inherited from his mother, were filled with such deep emotion that even when he looked at a stray dog, it conveyed a sense of melancholy and tenderness.

Brandon's face looked very unpleasant as he warned Bradley. "I'm afraid you'll get involved. Don't be ungrateful."

Bradley sneered and looked down at the ground.

He didn't know how long Brandon intended to humiliate him.

Indeed, he had destroyed the Douglas Group, and he deserved it. He had betrayed Ethan.

But Brandon was too humiliating.

Before, Brandon had deliberately approached him to control and observe him.

Bradley had naively thought that Brandon was a gay too.

Brandon humiliated him, making him accompany him in bed.

He thought Brandon really wanted to have sex with him.

But that night, the disgust and revulsion Brandon displayed were an instinctive reaction of a straight man, something that couldn't be faked.

So, they didn't make love that night.

That night, Bradley had insomnia and hid in the bathroom for a long time.

He didn't know whether to be grateful that Brandon was a straight man or to feel ridiculous and angry.

"What kind of relationship do we have? Not even friends. Why do you care about me?" Bradley pushed Brandon away. "If you're worried that I'll team up with Vincent to plot against Ethan, you don't need to worry, because Vincent will never plot against Ethan."

Vincent was only targeting the Douglas Group.

"If you don't believe me, I can leave the Silverlight City." Bradley looked at Brandon.

Now that the Douglas Group's matter was resolved, he could leave.

This way, Brandon would have no reason to keep him, right?

Brandon frowned and sneered. "With your despicable record, can I trust you?"

Bradley's face turned pale with anger. No matter what he said, Brandon wouldn't believe him.

"What do you want?" Bradley asked hoarsely.

Was he really not going to leave him any way out?

He knew very well how vile Brandon was, and he also knew he couldn't change his fate of falling in love with a man who liked women.

Sure enough, he fell in love with someone he shouldn't have.

"Until this matter is resolved, you are not allowed to leave." Brandon spoke in a deep voice, dragging Bradley into the living room by his arm. "You better not try to escape, or I'll break your other leg too."

The housekeeper, Calla Griffin, saw Brandon return and smiled as she approached. "Mr. Russell, Miss Fairfax sent some handmade pastries today. Is this... a guest?"

Calla glanced at Bradley.

Bradley looked away and didn't explain.

He wasn't a guest; he was a detained suspect.

Brandon tugged at his tie and followed Calla to the kitchen to get the handmade pastries sent by Theodora Fairfax, his girlfriend.

"She has quite a talent." Brandon smiled, carrying the pastries out.

Bradley watched Brandon. When he smiled while holding the pastry, it was a genuine display of uncontainable happiness.

So, was Bradley deliberately called here to be humiliated?

"Are you hungry? Try some." Brandon brought the pastries over for Bradley to taste.

Bradley didn't move, just feeling a bit of pain in his chest.

Actually, when he had just become an adult, he had also fallen in love with a straight man.

The other person was his good friend, a classmate in the same dormitory, an athlete, tall, and with a contagious smile.

He had a crush on him for three years, and finally, when the man got a girlfriend, he ended the crush.

At that time, Bradley wasn't too heartbroken because after college, everyone went their separate ways and weren't in the same city anymore.

But now Brandon was right in front of him. Was this intended to hurt him bit by bit?

"I don't eat sweets." Bradley said softly.

Brandon didn't insist, looking at Bradley. "Do you know about Vincent meeting Rhett and Lily?"

Bradley sneered.

What Brandon cared about most was still Ethan.

He just wanted to make sure Vincent wouldn't conspire with the two families against the Raymond Group.

"I don't know. Vincent doesn't tell me everything. We're not that close." Bradley said coldly.

As soon as he finished speaking, Bradley's phone rang.

The caller ID was Vincent.

Brandon frowned, his face darkening as he looked at Bradley. "Vincent?"

Bradley quickly picked up the phone. "It's none of your business."

"Didn't you say you two weren't that close?" Brandon's face looked very bad. "What kind of relationship do you two have? Is that lunatic also a pervert like you, liking men?"
