Chapter 269 Wilson Sets Conditions for Ethan for the First Time
"Why are your eyes so red? Did Nolan bully you again?" Ethan was angry and wanted to get off out of the car to find Nolan.
Afraid that Ethan and Nolan would get into a fight, Wilson quickly grabbed Ethan's arm. "No, it's not. I bullied him."
Ethan didn't believe it.
"My colleagues said I have a high salary, so they asked me to treat them to a meal. I asked Mr. Cunningham to treat everyone. That way, if Mr. Cunningham doesn't treat us, he would seem stingy," Wilson muttered softly. "And when he tried to talk to me, I pretended not to hear him. He got angry. I started crying and said I couldn't hear him, so he should be feeling guilty now."
Ethan lowered his gaze and gave Wilson a hug, rubbing her gently.
The doctor said Wilson's ears were irreversibly damaged.
Ethan wanted to kill Daniel.
Damn Daniel.
"To be honest, Nolan is not inherently bad. He's actually quite kind. He just has a prejudice against me," Wilson tried to explain tofor NolanEthan.
Ethan snorted. "You're not allowed to speak for him."
Wilson nodded. "His mind isn't very good."
Ethan nodded satisfactorily. "Right."
Wilson chuckled and whispered, "Ethan, I want to have some cold treats."
Ethan held Wilson's hand and squeezed it. "Shall we go have some ice cream?"
Wilson nodded cautiously.
This was the first time Wilson set conditions for Ethan.
She just wanted to have some ice cream.
Ethan glanced at Wilson, full of tenderness, and didn't say anything. He drove towards the dessert shop.
"Wilson." Ethan headed drove towards Stanford University.
"What?" Wilson played with her black-framed glasses.
"Open it and take a look." Ethan handed a file folder to Wilson.
Wilson froze and opened the file folder to take a look.
It was the case for a retrial that Ethan helped her apply for. "Do you want to go back to school again?"
Wilson was nervous. She really wanted to, to complete her education.
While in prison, she looked out the window countless times. The biggest regret was not being able to finish her studies.
"I've collected most of the evidence. After the Westing project is over, if you're willing to cooperate with the lawyer's investigation..." Ethan would find a way to convince Daniel and Evan.
In any case, he would solve this matter for Wilson.
He would let her go back to school again.
Wilson looked at the files in her hands and looked up at Ethan. "Can I?"
Could she, with her stained reputation, fragmented soul, and broken body, return to what she used to be?
"Wilson, you are shining," Ethan parked the car in the parking lot and looked at Wilson seriously.
Wilson stared at Ethan, feeling a bit nervous. "Are we going to eat ice cream here?"
Wilson was deeply moved. Ethan always knew what she wanted.
During her time in college, her favorite treat was the ice cream from this place. And even in prison, the ice cream here was what she craved the most.
She not only wanted to eat ice cream, but also wanted to go to school.
Ethan got out of the car and proactively opened the door for Wilson, reaching out to her. "I'll take you to eat."
Wilson looked up at Ethan.
Under the evening sun, he was backlit.
He really seemed like her savior, sent by God to redeem her.
Wilson stared at Ethan for a long time, her hand trembling as she reached out and placed it in Ethan's hand.
Ethan gripped her hand tightly and led her towards the dessert shop.
The area near Stanford University was bustling. As soon as Ethan's car stopped, it drew the attention of many people.
Nervously, Wilson hid behind Ethan, keeping her head down.
She was afraid of interacting with others.
It wasn't just a fear of social interaction.
She was afraid of being exposed to the air, of being in the spotlight.
She felt dirty all over, no matter how much she tried to clean herself.
But Ethan was clean, clean enough to radiate light.
"I want some french fries." Ethan held Wilson's hand as he bought her a portion of fries.
Wilson took them cautiously, nervously looking around.
She always felt like there were eyes watching her everywhere.
If it weren't for Ethan, she would probably be struggling to breathe right now.
But with Ethan around, she could slowly overcome her fears.
Ethan was helping her conquer her fears.
"Hi, you are so good-looking. Do you have a girlfriend?" A pretty girl mustered up the courage to approach and strike up a conversation.
Ethan stood out in the crowd.
He was so dazzling that it was hard to look away from him.
Many students were familiar with Ethan.
After all, he was a brilliant figure in Silverlight City's business world.
"I'm married." Ethan remained expressionless as he held Wilson's hand, revealing their wedding rings.
Wilson froze and hid behind Ethan.
The beautiful girl looked embarrassed and apologized. "Sorry."
Ethan glanced back at Wilson and brushed her hair behind her ear, whispering softly. "Honey, don't hide. They might think I'm single."
Wilson hugged Ethan's arm and led him forward.
Although Wilson didn't say anything, her intentions were clear.
Ethan smirked. It was great to see Wilson taking the first brave step.
"That guy is so handsome."
"That guy looks just like Ethan."
"He's a super wealthy man."
"Does he have a girlfriend? Is the girl next to him his girlfriend? She looks pretty ordinary," Wilson bit heris lip and held Ethan's hand tighter.
"Hello, is that handsome guy your boyfriend?" Ethan went to line up for ice cream and someone asked Wilson.
"He's my husband," Wilson pointed to her wedding ring.
Those people looked at Wilson in shock. "What they said online is true. Ethan is really married, he married someone with a criminal record."
"Yes, look at the trending topics. Someone leaked that Ethan's wife is the fake heiress from the fake heiress case six years ago."
"Are you the fake heiress? Are you the person who took over someone else's life?"
"Your name is Wilson?"
"She doesn't even deserve Ethan."
"Did you deceive Ethan?"
Those people surrounded Wilson, taking pictures and recording videos.
Wilson panicked and backed away, trembling all over.
What trending topics?
Ethan ran over with the ice cream, his face gloomy as he looked at those people. "What are you doing?"
"Mr. Douglas, do you know that she is a fraud, a fake heiress?"
"You haven't been deceived by her, have you?" someone asked.
Ethan got angry. "You were secretly filming others, exposing personal privacy, possibly violating the law."
The people looked at each other, a bit scared, and left.
Wilson's body trembled as she tightly held onto Ethan's arm. "They mentioned trending topics."
Ethan took out his phone and glanced at it, his eyes cold. "Liam, call Mitchell and ask him to remove the trending topic!"
Ethan embraced Wilson with one arm and led her away.
No need to investigate, Ethan knew that Claire and the others were behind the trending topic.
This meant that Howard and Claire were going to make a move against him. Wilson was just a pawn they used to deal with him.
