Chapter 767 Lisa and Jordan Finally Got Divorced
Lisa and Jordan got divorced.
Lisa left with nothing, and she didn't want anything.
Her marriage to Jordan was something she schemed for, it was she who liked Jordan and manipulated him, so she had Casey, and then forced him to marry her under the pressure of the Douglas family and public opinion.
Lisa didn't hate Jordan because she no longer loved him.
She also knew she had been too overbearing and that she had made many mistakes. Since it was a mistake, it was best to end it completely.
Coming out of the courthouse, Jordan followed closely behind Lisa.
"Lisa," Jordan frowned and called out.
Lisa didn't stop or turn around.
Jordan, somewhat displeased, quickly caught up to Lisa, and handed her a card. "This is my secondary card. I can't just leave you and Casey without support. Take it."
Lisa looked at Jordan indifferently, didn't take the card, avoided him, and continued walking.
It was as if Jordan was a stranger to her now.
"Lisa! You're playing this game with me again, aren't you?" Jordan said angrily.
Lisa remained silent and kept walking.
A woman got out of a nearby car, looked at Lisa with a sneer, and affectionately took Jordan's arm. "Jordan, she's just trying to get your attention."
Jordan frowned at the woman. "What are you doing here?"
"Mrs. Taylor was worried Lisa might pull some tricks and not divorce you, so she sent me to keep an eye on her." The woman looked at Lisa mockingly. "She's not even a real member of the Douglas family, just a nobody pretending to be someone important. Acting all high and mighty before, where's that arrogance now?"
Lisa stopped and glanced at the woman.
She knew this woman, named Nala. Her father made his fortune in e-commerce, but they were far below the Douglas family. She used to avoid Lisa, but now she was acting tough.
"What are you looking at?" Nala wasn't afraid of Lisa at all now. The Douglas family had offended Ethan, and no one dared to be nice to Lisa anymore.
"Wish you happiness," Lisa said calmly, feeling immensely grateful that she had gotten custody of Casey. Otherwise, Casey would have been bullied by Nala.
Once Nala married into the Taylor family, there was no way she would let Casey stay and compete with her children for the inheritance.
Having seen enough of the scheming in wealthy families, Lisa didn't dare leave Casey in the Taylor family.
"Lisa!" Jordan was a bit unhappy, seemingly not expecting her to be so decisive. He thought she would make a scene.
"Even if not for yourself, think about Casey. How do you plan to live with my son? How will you support him? By selling yourself to Raymond?" Jordan said angrily.
The thought of Lisa being with Raymond, selling herself for money, made him uncomfortable.
"What does it have to do with you?" Lisa looked at Jordan angrily.
Nala stepped forward and pushed Lisa, trying to hit her.
People without any background seemed to be easy targets for them.
At that moment, Lisa understood Jasmine's situation and her despair.
Lisa initially thought of letting them vent, thinking they might leave after hitting her.
But she didn't get slapped.
Raymond pulled Lisa into his arms from behind, and Nala missed.
Nala frowned and looked at Raymond. "Who are you? Why are you meddling? How much did she charge you to sleep with her?"
Raymond frowned and gave Nala a cold look.
With Nala's family background, she was still not qualified to know the Long family.
Jordan was displeased but still wary of the Long family. He pulled Nala back. "That's enough."
"You're still protecting her? She's supporting your son by being a prostitute, aren't you ashamed?" Nala said angrily.
Raymond's voice was low. "Adults need to be responsible for their words and actions."
Nala was inexplicably frightened by Raymond but still disdainful. "Do you even know who this woman is? She's not the Douglas family heir anymore."
Nala wanted to continue, but Lisa slapped her, anger making her body tremble slightly.
"How dare you hit me!" Nala was furious and wanted to retaliate, but Jordan, with a dark face, pulled her away.
"You're still protecting her!" Nala was unreasonable.
"Do you know who Raymond is? He's from the Long family. If he wants your family to go bankrupt, he just need to make a call, and someone will investigate you, from taxes to business operations. Do you think your dad's business is clean and not afraid of being checked?" Jordan said through gritted teeth.
Nala was stunned, her face instantly turning pale, and she looked at Raymond in panic.
Raymond ignored her and opened the car door for Lisa.
Lisa felt she must look very pathetic now, but she still held her head high with pride.
Once in the car, Lisa slowly released her tightly clenched hands.
"This is what I fought for you," Raymond handed a contract to Lisa. "Are you stupid? He said leave with nothing, and you really agreed? How do you plan to support Casey?"
Lisa glanced at the contract. It was the shares of the Taylor family and what rightfully belonged to her.
It seemed Raymond had used some connections and methods to scare the Taylor family.
"Mr. Taylor and Mrs. Taylor were bullies who preyed on the weak but cowered before influential families like the Long family."
"Thank you," Lisa stubbornly wiped her tears.
Raymond looked down. "Where to? I'll take you."
Lisa spoke softly, then explained after a while. "To Ethan's place."
She felt unworthy of calling Ethan by his name.
"Technically, you are still his sister," Raymond said softly.
Lisa's eyes reddened, and she said no more.
The car stopped at Ethan's place. Lisa looked up at the tall building. "They moved."
Raymond nodded. "I asked you to come before, but you refused. I brought Casey over."
Lisa's eyes wandered, and she smiled. "That's good."
Tears were hard to control. Lisa didn't know why she felt wronged, this was her fate.
"Do you need me to go with you?" Raymond asked softly.
He actually wanted to say she didn't have to face it alone, as long as she was willing to ask.
But even in her downfall, Lisa had her pride. "No."
She walked away firmly and proudly.
She was proud and wouldn't bow down.
"What brings you here?" Jasmine opened the door, holding a child, surprised to see Lisa. "Casey, Justin, and Joe are asleep. Are you here to pick up Casey or...?"
Lisa shook her head. "I'm here to see you."
Lisa took a deep breath and placed the contract Raymond had just given her on the table. "This is everything under my name. I'm giving it to you."
Jasmine frowned. "Why are you giving it to me?"
"I know you don't need it, but I want to entrust Casey to you," Lisa said hoarsely.
