Chapter 680 Jasmine Dug Up Celeste's Grave
"If Celeste marrying Howard was itself a conspiracy and calculation, targeting a woman from a prestigious family like the Hamilton family, there's no way Howard could have done it alone," Jasmine said solemnly, looking at Juniper.
There must be an even bigger conspiracy behind this.
"Behind immense wealth and power, there is no light, only disgusting and terrifying things beyond imagination." Juniper laughed weakly. "Celeste often said I was naive. I said I was happy because I didn't understand anything."
Because those who had seen the darkness would have been unlucky in life.
"Jasmine, the Hamilton family, as a prestigious family, couldn't escape their fate. Do you really want to get involved?"
Once entangled, few can come out unscathed.
Howard was just a tool in the scheme.
"They messed with my loved one; I won't let it go easily." Jasmine looked down at her belly. "Besides the child in my belly, Justin, Joe, and my family and friends, I have nothing to fear losing."
"Moreover, my family and friends can protect themselves." Jasmine looked up at Juniper. "I came to see you today not just to understand the situation back then but also to ask for your help."
"If you want to know the truth, you have to start with Howard. Unfortunately, he is already dead." Juniper shook her head.
"Even if Howard is dead, he wouldn't be so clean; there will always be traces for me to find," Jasmine said again. "I will investigate the truth. But currently, the Douglas Group seems to be in jeopardy. The Hawthorne family wants to take the opportunity to destroy everything Ethan cares about. I need the Hamilton family's help."
The Hamilton family was a prestigious family; even if they had declined, they still retained their former power and connections.
Jasmine wanted the help of the current heir of the Hamilton family.
"But after Wesley's death, the Hamilton family has been fragmented. And now there is no head of the family to hold everything together." Juniper was a bit puzzled.
"No, there is one person," Jasmine pushed an old photo in front of Juniper. "This person is named Vincent Hamilton, an adopted son of the Hamilton family, who was a stand-in for Ethan when he was a child."
When Ethan was six years old, he was kidnapped and subsequently faced continuous dangers. Wesley adopted someone from the orphanage.
So for a long time afterward, it wasn't that Ethan didn't encounter any more incidents, but that someone else was kidnapped several times in his place.
"I found out that after Wesley's accidental death, Vincent was sent back to the orphanage by the Hamilton family. Later, Celeste felt sorry for him, brought him back, and sent him to Muskow as the heir of the Hamilton family. She secretly helped Vincent build his power and gather the Hamilton family's past connections."
So Vincent was a trump card Celeste left for her son, a card she didn't have time to hand over to Ethan.
And Celeste handed this card to Juniper, the person she trusted the most.
Juniper was shocked and looked at Jasmine for a long time.
She probably didn't expect Jasmine to find out about Vincent.
This was something done in secret from the Douglas family.
"Celeste said that unless absolutely necessary, no one should know about Vincent's existence, especially the Douglas family." Juniper took a deep breath. "How did you know? Even Ethan doesn't know about Vincent."
Jasmine lowered her head apologetically. "I dug up Celeste's grave."
Jasmine opened the grave.
Juniper suddenly stood up, looking at Jasmine, her fingers trembling. "You."
How ruthless.
Digging up Celeste's grave?
Celeste probably never thought, even in death, that Ethan would find someone so ruthless.
"It's not my fault. I found out that Howard went to the cemetery before he died and tampered with Celeste's grave. I was worried he might have scattered the ashes, so I had someone open it to check," Jasmine said calmly.
Actually, Jasmine just wanted to see what was hidden in that grave.
"You want to see what secret Celeste hid in her urn that made Howard so eager to eliminate his own son after taking a look." Juniper wasn't foolish; she could see what Jasmine was up to.
For Ethan, she had truly gone mad!
"Yes." Jasmine no longer denied it.
"She is your mother-in-law, and you dug up her grave." Juniper was genuinely angered by Jasmine.
Jasmine remained calm. "As a mother, she planned long-term for her son and left a trump card. At a critical moment, it must be revealed. If I hadn't dug up the grave, who would have known about Vincent's existence?"
"What does it mean that she had you place the trump card in her urn? With Ethan's filial piety, he would never think of digging up Celeste's grave in his lifetime! Vincent would remain hidden forever. She seemed to have developed a ridiculous, unnecessary motherly love for a child brought back from an orphanage." Jasmine's voice was somewhat cold.
She blamed Celeste and Howard for the troubles left for Ethan and also blamed Celeste for her excessive, misplaced motherly love.
"You!" Juniper's breathing became rapid. "You haven't met Vincent; you have no right to say that."
"I have no right? Everyone has different stances. But Ethan is my everything. I don't care about the lives of irrelevant people; I only care about my husband! Even if Vincent has to die in Ethan's place, that's his fate!" Jasmine also stood up, her breathing rapid.
Jasmine had never thought she would become so cold and selfish one day.
But apart from Ethan, she cared about no one.
"He has already been kidnapped many times in Ethan's place. Back then, he was also a child." Juniper lowered her head, not wanting to drag Vincent into this again.
"Then are you going to watch Ethan die and see everything he cherishes destroyed?" Jasmine's attitude was firm.
She needed to contact Vincent.
She needed to use the Hamilton family's trump card left for Ethan!
She needed the Hamilton family's connections!
She wanted Owen and those people to die.
"Even if Ethan were here, he wouldn't agree. Vincent, he..." Juniper hesitated as if there was something she couldn't say.
"I'm sorry. I'm not a good person. For my loved one, I can do whatever it takes." Jasmine took a deep breath, looking at Juniper. "Moreover, he has received the Hamilton family's favor and gained their connections and resources, so he should be used for Ethan."
Juniper took a step back and sat on the sofa. "I didn't expect Ethan to marry such a good wife."
She had thought Jasmine was gentle, weak, the kind of woman who needed a man to protect her from being bullied.
"I still want to advise you to think it through. This is not as simple as you think. Even Wesley, William, and Celeste couldn't get out of this situation. What makes you confident you can break it?" Juniper looked up at Jasmine. "Even if you can persuade Vincent to come back and help you, your chances of winning are slim. If you use up all your trump cards and still lose, that will be the real abyss."
"Abyss?" Jasmine smiled. "Where do you think I am standing now? He is my life. Without Ethan, every moment is hell for me."
Was she still afraid of the abyss?
The time she lost Ethan was as painful as those five years in prison.
She even felt that those five years were nothing compared to this.
"This is his address. You can go find him, but I don't have much connection or favor with him. If he acknowledges past ties, he might help you, but if he doesn't, there's nothing I can do." Juniper walked to an ornament, took out a piece of paper from it.
Jasmine took the paper, glanced at it, and burned it with a lighter.
Juniper was stunned for a moment. "You can remember it? It's encrypted."
Jasmine said nothing, bowed to Juniper, and turned to leave.
She would not let Ethan lose, absolutely not.
At Private Hospital, Connor walked into the ward, looking at Ethan, who was completely exhausted from the pain.
"Tom just called and said Jasmine went crazy and dug up your mom's grave."
