Chapter 892 Hestia Sees Through Lily's Trick
Lily sat on the sofa, squinting her eyes.
She had a strong impression of Vincent; she had met him before and felt that he was unfathomable.
Vincent was capable, able to take the Douglas Group from Ethan and bring the century-old foundation of the Douglas Group to ruin. Truly impressive.
However, Vincent only let Bradley take over the Douglas Group and destroy it; it seemed he had no intention of continuing to target Ethan.
Was it because he hadn't had the chance yet, or was Vincent waiting for the right moment?
After a moment of silence, Lily took out her phone and called Rhett. "Do you have a way to get in touch with Vincent?"
"Planning to make a move?" Rhett asked with a smile.
"The Cunningham family is not easy to deal with. Vincent is indeed capable, so it wouldn't hurt to win him over. But you men generally look down on women, so I think you should test the waters first."
Rhett was silent for a moment before speaking. "Vincent is very mysterious. I've heard he doesn't interact with anyone. However, I do have some connections with Bradley and can reach Vincent through him."
"In that case, I'll be waiting for your good news, Mr. Murray," Lily said meaningfully.
"How is the Cunningham Group project going? If they win, it will be even harder for us to enter the Silverlight City market. After all, Edgar is the future son-in-law of the Murray family, so I can't openly compete for this project. I'll have to rely on you," Rhett asked.
"I've already placed my people in the Cunningham Group's crisis management and legal departments. As soon as their plan has any flaws, I'll immediately launch a public opinion attack, causing their crisis management to collapse and greatly affecting the Cunningham Group's reputation. When the time comes, those in charge will have to consider public opinion before awarding the project," Lily said with a smile.
Rhett laughed on the other end of the phone. "Indeed, women can be the most ruthless."
"You are just as ruthless. We're the same," Lily said coldly.
"When do you plan to return to Silverlight City?" If The Powell family wanted to secure the Silverlight City project and open up the market there, they would definitely come to Silverlight City.
But they failed to get rid of Edward recently, so going to Silverlight City now would be walking into a trap.
However, Lily wasn't worried. She knew Edward well enough to know that he was too upright to use underhanded methods.
"We'll meet in Silverlight City soon. By then, I hope you can contact Vincent and Bradley to join us in opposing Ethan."
Only if Ethan is too preoccupied can he not interfere with the rise and fall of the Cunningham Group.
At that time, they would all attack together.
Lily didn't believe that the Cunningham Group could always be so lucky.
"Without Kavi, the Cunningham family has no backing." Like others, Rhett and Lily were jealous of the Cunningham family, believing they were in cahoots with Kavi and thus received so much help and protection from him.
After all, someone had always been protecting the Cunningham family from behind.
After Kavi's incident, the Cunningham family's unscathed status provoked a great deal of envy and resentment.
"Don't worry, just do what you need to do," Rhett reminded before hanging up the phone.
Lily looked coldly into the distance. The Cunningham family, Jasmine, they couldn't blame her.
Everyone lived for their own interests.
Silverlight City.
Hestia had just returned from the conference room when she saw Primrose rummaging through her desk.
"What are you doing?" Hestia frowned and asked.
"Taking a day off on your first day after becoming a full-time employee? Impressive," Primrose said, leading the others in attacking Hestia. "We just wanted to see what makes you so special that you got to stay in the company."
"I think it's my ability," Hestia said, holding three project plans. "These are the reviewed project plans. Such obvious mistakes shouldn't be there. If something goes wrong, we'll all be implicated. Who reviewed this part?"
To prevent project plans from leaking, the company assigned different sections to different people for review. Any issues would be immediately apparent.
"How did you get the complete project plan? This is company confidential. If it leaks, can you afford the consequences?" Primrose said angrily.
Hestia said nothing, taking the problematic plan to the office. "My job is to review the entire plan. If you have a problem, you can talk to Marlon."
Primrose, jealous and angry, blocked her. "Are you going to report us? Everyone makes mistakes under pressure. We can review it again. As a colleague, can't you help correct our mistakes? Why be so unkind?"
Other colleagues, worried about their own mistakes, chimed in. "Hestia, how about we check it again? We don't want to make mistakes either."
"We are from the legal department., which directly affects the company's interests! Now you say you don't want to make mistakes? This is the most basic error. It not only affects the company but also us," Hestia said angrily.
"Other things can be overlooked, but the company is at a make-or-break moment, yet someone was incompetent enough to miss crucial flaws in the planning document and then made edits––a single word significantly changing the meaning and risking serious legal repercussions. I suspect this is deliberate sabotage by a competitor's spy. I can't ignore this because of personal feelings; I must report it."
With that, Hestia turned and walked toward the supervisor's office.
Primrose's face darkened, and she grabbed Hestia. "What do you mean? Not only are you going to report us, but now you're making accusations? I'm telling you, you can't harm us."
"What are you afraid of? I'm just reporting it to let Marlon handle it and investigate the matter. If it's just carelessness, I believe the higher-ups won't impose severe punishment," Hestia said, shaking off Primrose's arm and entering the supervisor's office.
Some of my colleagues were starting to get weird.
"Who does Hestia think she is? This company isn't hers. Even Primrose, the future boss's wife, hasn't said anything, and she's acting all high and mighty."
"It feels as if we've somehow threatened her position or interests. Frankly, we're all employees; minor mistakes happen. Is this overreaction really necessary?"
"Primrose, I think Hestia is just trying to show off. People like her crave attention. She's doing this to get noticed by the higher-ups, right?" a colleague said, trying to flatter Primrose.
Primrose's face was grim. After a moment, she spoke. "What can we do? Marlon favors her. She has backing."
"Primrose, isn't your father close to the Cunningham family? If you become the mistress of the Cunningham family, you should have her fired."
Primrose felt guilty and said nothing.
She was now worried that Hestia would really find something. She had indeed tampered with the plan.
