Chapter 361 Jasmine Got Drunk and Acted Crazy

The hospital issued a critical condition notice for Serena.
Her health was already fragile, with one kidney severely atrophied.
An early kidney transplant could have ensured her well-being, but a recent car accident ruled out surgery, leaving her teetering on the edge of peril. After being in the ICU for so long, she was barely holding on.
This morning, Karen heard from Evan that Serena had woken up, this time staying awake for ten minutes longer than the last time, indicating a gradual recovery.
But not even two hours later, Evan called again, saying the hospital had issued a critical condition notice.
All her organs were starting to fail.
Karen was consumed with resentment, questioning why she had to endure such hardship. Why couldn't Serena be spared. "Alex, please help me," Karen cried helplessly.
Alex nervously gripped his phone, glancing at Evelina with a complex expression.
Evelina's fingers were tightly clenched. "Didn't you say you had already paid back a debt of gratitude?"
Alex fell silent, got up, and went to the side. "I'll arrange for Rex to come and take you."
Karen thanked him.
After hanging up, Alex turned to Evelina. "Serena has been issued a critical condition notice. I've asked Sophia and Rex to drive Karen."
Evelina spoke lightly, "You seem anxious; your hands are shaking. Why don't you go as well? By personally escorting her back, you could look after Serena."
"Evelina, don't be jealous for no reason. When it comes to matters of life and death, even if a beggar on the street asked me, I would agree," Alex reassured her .
Evelina remained silent, smiling. "Alright, I don't understand work matters anyway. You guys take over; I'll take Jasmine away."
Jasmine looked at Evelina, feeling inexplicably uncomfortable.
She seemed very sad but hid it well.
The way she concealed her emotions seemed to make people even more sympathetic.
But wasn't Alex no longer the one who loved his wife the most? Why couldn't he sense that something was wrong with Evelina?
While sending a car to take Karen was understandable, Alex's behavior, his emotions, and his state.
A woman's intuition was accurate and sensitive.
In the end, Alex still hurt Evelina's heart.
"Evelina," Jasmine gathered courage as they left the office, grabbing Evelina's wrist. "Do you drink alcohol?"
Evelina laughed. "Jasmine, you don't drink?"
"I'm not very brave to drink, but I want to accompany you," Jasmine said, truly courageous.
Before, she was afraid, but now she suddenly wanted to rebel and try new things.
Since the incident where she was forced to drink, Jasmine had been afraid of alcohol. She didn't dare to drink, and when she had to, she felt very uncomfortable.
But today, she wanted to drink voluntarily, to be with Evelina.
Evelina raised an eyebrow. "Alright, I'll take you to the biggest nightclub in Maple Grove to see handsome men!"
Jasmine was shocked, stuttering, "Nightclub? Handsome men?"
"Keep it down, don't let Ethan know. I'll take you out; we won't do anything; just have a look." Evelina said with a smile.
She actually never went to places frequented by young people.
But seeing Jasmine's character, too weak and easily bullied, she felt the need to toughen her up.
In the nightclub, drunken antics and chaos were everywhere, teaching Jasmine a lesson.
So, Evelina led the obedient Jasmine away.
They went to the bustling nightclub area of Maple Grove, filled with intoxicated men and women.
Jasmine was on high alert, like a frightened rabbit.
Evelina teased Jasmine for being too soft. "In the future, you need to be tougher, or you'll always be taken advantage of."
Jasmine nodded, her head throbbing from the music.
The flashing lights made Jasmine feel dizzy.
But the environment was indeed suitable for drinking.
The bar was chaotic, with many drunken men trying to flirt.
Fortunately, Evelina had brought bodyguards and secured the best spot, so no one dared to bother Jasmine.
With a good view, they could see the bustling bar and the collision of hormones between men and women.
"Do you see that man? He's eyeing that beauty," Evelina pointed to a man dancing and drinking in the pool.
Jasmine nodded, a bit drunk, holding the bottle cutely.
"Look at his hands, getting restless," Evelina observed Jasmine. "If that man were to harass you without permission, what would you do?"
Nervous, Jasmine thought. In the past, she would have been frozen with fear, unable to resist, and just trembling.
"Call the police," Jasmine said confidently, having learned to stand up for herself with legal knowledge.
"That's adorable," Evelina chuckled at Jasmine. "Now watch how that beauty handles it."
Jasmine watched as the woman warned the man after the first incident.
But when he tried again, she slapped him.
The man, embarrassed and angry, attempted to retaliate, but the woman's friends stood up and surrounded him.
"Do you understand now? Don't put yourself in dangerous situations alone. Prevent such people from the root, but if you must deal with them, have someone to rely on. Don't be afraid; even if you have to fight back, he'll be in the wrong and won't dare to make a sound." Evelina explained.
Jasmine was amazed by the confident and assertive women in the nightclub who knew how to have fun without being taken advantage of.
She nodded heavily, feeling like she had learned a lot.
"Evelina and Jasmine seem to have had a bit too much to drink; their tolerance isn't great." the bodyguard whispered.
Jasmine was very happy with the drinks, hugging the bottle tightly.
"Not drunk! Another drink." Jasmine sat on the sofa, clutching the bottle, demanding more.
Evelina boasted that she could handle a thousand drinks without getting drunk, so a little alcohol was like water to her.
Watching Jasmine, Evelina felt all her worries dissipate. "Alright, that's enough. No more drinks; you'll really get drunk, and Ethan will blame me."
Evelina smiled, intending to toughen up Jasmine's character, not to make her sick from drinking.
Ethan would be worried.
"Don't worry! Don't mind him, he's very obedient and listens to me. He'll let me drink," Jasmine said firmly, the alcohol making her more assertive.
She didn't care about Ethan's feelings at all.
Maple Grove, the hotel.
Ethan waited at the hotel entrance, checking the time repeatedly.
Despite knowing Evelina was with Jasmine and safe, he was troubled as to why a moody Evelina had whisked Jasmine away. "Ethan," Jasmine didn't arrive, but Annabelle did.
Annabelle, dressed in luxurious attire and high heels, approached Ethan. "Jasmine isn't here?"
Ethan ignored her.
"Ethan, can't we have a proper chat? You know I've always had feelings for you." Annabelle's voice choked, her acting skills bursting out.
Ethan frowned, stepping back with a look of disdain, wary of being manipulated.
Evelina's car happened to be parked at the hotel entrance, and Jasmine, in a tipsy state, was helped out by Evelina.
Annabelle's gaze fell on Jasmine, and she instinctively rushed into Ethan's arms, clinging to him. "Ethan, I know you still have feelings for me. I'm sorry; I know I was wrong. Can we be together again?"
Jasmine and Evelina had just arrived at the hotel entrance and witnessed the scene.
Evelina frowned, her face turning sour.
"Jasmine! She's doing this on purpose!" Ethan was terrified, pushing Annabelle away and explaining to Jasmine.
Jasmine, in a tipsy state, looked at Annabelle, then poked Ethan and Evelina. "I have someone with me."
That meant she had someone to protect her.
So, just like the confident women in the bar, Jasmine raised her hand and slapped Annabelle.
