Chapter 799 Nolan gave up on Amelia

"Mr. Cunningham, it's over there. I heard that Bruce suddenly changed his attitude towards Nathaniel and personally escorted him out." Nolan's assistant said.

"Got it. Let's head back to Silverlight City early tomorrow morning." After hanging up the phone, Nolan got out of the car and entered the guesthouse.

Amelia had been in the yard tending to the plants since she returned.

She looked frail yet stubborn.

Nolan hoped she would be well. He always felt that Nathaniel was not a good match for her. He would never give her the devoted love she deserved.

But Amelia had already made her choice, and all Nolan could do was give his blessing.

He was definitely regretful, but this regret seemed to be of his own making.

Nolan also knew that he had many opportunities to be with Amelia and keep her by his side, but he didn't cherish them.

"Amelia." Nolan walked over and stood in front of her. "I owe you an apology for the past."

Amelia's hand, which was picking flowers, froze for a moment, but she didn't look up.

"I owe you a favor. You can ask for it back anytime." Nolan gave Amelia a special privilege.

She could ask for his help, as many times as she needed.

If she encountered difficulties, she could come to him, and he would definitely help.

Amelia didn't say anything and continued picking flowers.

"Let me stay for one night. I'll leave tomorrow," Nolan spoke again.

Amelia straightened up. "Follow me."

Nolan followed behind her. "Is Nathaniel good to you?"

Amelia ignored Nolan and led him to her room. Her guesthouse indeed had no more rooms, so he had to sleep in her room for one night while she slept on the small bed at the front desk.

Seeing Amelia about to leave after opening the door, Nolan reached out and grabbed her wrist. "Amelia, if you regret it, come back to me."

Amelia shook off Nolan's wrist. "I've regretted it for a long time, regretting that I ever met you." She spoke with red-rimmed eyes and quickly turned to leave.

If she hadn't met Nolan outside the hotel back then, if she hadn't had a relationship with him. If she hadn't met him again due to a traffic violation. If she hadn't mistaken him for a male model at the bar.

She wouldn't have fallen for him, and she wouldn't have gotten herself involved.

They wouldn't have had their first child, and they wouldn't have lost that child.

Nolan stood at the door, raising his hand to hit his forehead.

Thinking back now, he realized he had indeed been a jerk.

Since he hadn't left himself a way out back then, why bother her now?

Silverlight City.

After getting off the plane, Elaine called her assistant. "Did you find out?"

"There seems to be an unsavory relationship between Nolan and Amelia. Amelia is the daughter of the entertainment company Lawrence, and the Carter family fell from grace, which is related to Nolan. I guess Amelia sought Nolan's help for her family's matters, and Nolan kept her as a mistress."

Elaine frowned. In this circle, there was no absolute cleanliness. Nolan was already considered very clean. Keeping a college girl as a mistress wasn't anything surprising.

But now it seemed that Nolan still had feelings for Amelia.

"What is the relationship between Amelia and that Nathaniel?" Elaine asked.

"Nathaniel is a celebrity with no bad scandals. It's unclear whether he and Amelia are really a couple," the assistant was also unsure.

Elaine frowned. She wanted to marry into a family she valued, and Nolan was indeed rare.

She couldn't give up. "Help me contact Nathaniel's agent. I want to meet Nathaniel when he returns to Silverlight City."

She wanted to know what the relationship between Nathaniel and Amelia was.

If they were really a couple or married, then once their relationship was exposed, Nolan would probably give up completely, right?

Only when Nolan gave up would he consider marrying Elaine.

After all, a marriage between their families would maximize benefits, and someone as smart as Nolan would know what choice to make.

Sunrise City.

When Nolan woke up, sunlight streamed in through the window, and the sounds of birds and the fragrance of flowers made him feel very relaxed.

This place was beautiful. If it weren't for the responsibilities of the Cunningham family and the Cunningham Group, he really did want to find a place where he could live a simple and peaceful life.

Unfortunately, he couldn't.

He was the first child in the family, with many younger siblings to take care of, and the Cunningham Group couldn't do without him.

"Have breakfast before you leave." In the dining room, Amelia was serving breakfast. Seeing Nolan come over, she spoke in a low voice.

Nolan nodded and took the tray Amelia handed him. "Your cooking skills have improved a lot."

Amelia didn't say anything.

He wanted to find a topic to talk about, but Amelia had already turned and left.

Since Amelia ignored him, he could only sit alone in the corner and eat breakfast.

Nathaniel came, probably taking some time off.

He brought Amelia flowers, bread, and desserts.

Amelia stood in the sunlight, among the flowers, smiling brightly.

That kind of genuine smile was something she never had when she was with Nolan.

Nolan's gaze froze for a long time before he slowly lowered his head.

Maybe he really wasn't suitable for Amelia.

When Amelia was with him, she had never truly been happy.

"Mr. Cunningham, it's time to go." The assistant came to pick up Nolan and glanced at the time. "There's still a meeting when we get back."

Nolan suddenly felt a bit tired. There were endless meetings and work every day.

Actually, during the time he pretended to be at odds with Edgar and Edward, he felt quite relaxed, pretending to be kicked out of the company and letting Edgar and Edward manage it.

Maybe he should also remind Edward and Edgar that they should take on some responsibilities for the family.

Before leaving Sunrise City, Nolan had his assistant transfer some money to Amelia, but Amelia returned it.

Nolan didn't say anything else, just nodded.

He let go, letting Amelia choose the life she wanted.

Sunrise City was great. She should be very happy here.

"Nolan is gone." Nathaniel breathed a sigh of relief and spoke again. "He shouldn't bother you anymore, right?"

"He won't come back." Amelia smiled bitterly. "It was just a coincidence that he ran into me. If he hadn't run into me, he probably wouldn't even remember who I am. As long as he doesn't know the child is his, he won't come back to bother me. "

Someone as proud as him would never come back to bother her.

"I have to go back to Silverlight City today too. You'll be here alone..." Nathaniel frowned, a bit worried, but work had to continue, and his contract hadn't expired yet.

Amelia smiled at Nathaniel. "I'm fine. Don't worry about me. I have many friends here who will take care of me."

The child was already over four months old and would be born in a while.

"I'll try to come over when the child is born." Nathaniel was still a bit worried.
