Chapter 323 Ethan Praises Jasmine's Beauty
Betty didn't know how long she had been tossing and turning, but she knew she was in no condition to sleep.
"Richard, are you trying to kill me? Then you can be with Aurora?" Betty was breathless, but she still grabbed a pillow and threw it at Richard.
Richard emerged from the bathroom, his expression dark, ready to reprimand her.
"Richard, I was wrong. I really was." Betty realized she couldn't afford to speak out of turn.
Richard's smile was tinged with helplessness. He would have to take serious measures to cure her of this habit of speaking without thinking.
Otherwise, she wouldn't listen.
Betty weakly turned over and clung to Richard like an octopus, afraid that he would disappear when she woke up, that everything would be a dream, and that his confession was just a dream.
"From now on, you must tell me everything first. I will always unconditionally believe you because you are more important than the truth. I believe that what you say is the truth, and you won't lie to me." Richard held Betty in his arms.
Betty, exhausted, agreed. "Okay."
"Betty, don't lie to me." Richard was also with extreme insecurity.
In fact, he was also afraid that Betty would lie to him, play him, and deceive him.
In fact, Aurora's return was only partially with benefits. At least it allowed Richard to see Betty's true colors.
It also restored some of his confidence.
"Would you like to talk to me about the Johnsons?" Richard asked in a low voice.
He could have asked Ethan to investigate, but he was afraid of asking too much and upsetting Betty. Still, he hoped that Betty could emerge from the shadows.
"I will always be with you and protect you forever." he promised.
Just like the year he had taken a bullet for her without hesitation.
"My ex-husband, Aiden, was a fool too." Betty laughed sarcastically. "He was similar to you, loving me so much that he didn't even care about his own life. Braden told him that only one of us could return to the Johnson family, and he would rather die than let me go. In fact, you had already saved me at that time. He just had to wait a little longer for me to return."
As Betty spoke of Aiden, Richard's whole body went stiff.
He finally understood why Betty couldn't release Aurora because everyone knew the power of first love.
If Aiden didn't love Betty, he wouldn't be so afraid...
Richard was afraid that the living would never be able to compete with the dead.
"Don't say that." Richard covered Betty's mouth. He would investigate it himself.
"I'm different from you. I've never loved Aiden. I only feel guilty and grateful to him. He died for me, but I haven't forgiven him. My kidnapping was due to his negligence and revealing my whereabouts. He was too foolish, believing in his half-brother, Braden."
Aiden was a person who evoked both love and hate.
Richard covered Betty's mouth again and replied, "Stop talking, go to sleep!"
Betty bit Richard's hand and lay in his arms, falling asleep.
But Richard couldn't sleep.
The Johnsons was not to be trifled with.
That Braden was the mastermind behind Betty's kidnapping.
Richard's eyes darkened, his fingers clenched.
It would be best if Braden never appeared in front of him alive.
The Cunningham family.
Jasmine had already gotten up early and dressed up to make a good impression on Coco. She chose one dress after another, finally settling on a milky white one, which was pure yet not monotonous.
Her hair had also grown quite a bit, reaching her collarbone now.
Jasmine casually tied up her hair and walked out of the bedroom, spinning in front of Ethan. She asked, "Do you like this dress?"
Ethan got up and held Jasmine in his arms. "My wife looks good in anything."
Jasmine laughed.
Ethan was really good at complimenting her, almost always praising her, and Jasmine also felt that she might have been naturally easy to praise.
"Mom! You look so pretty!" Justin ran out of the bedroom in overalls and joined in the praise. "Mom is the most beautiful woman."
Indeed, father and son were good at making people feel flattered.
Jasmine shyly covered her face. "You little flatterer, hurry up and have breakfast. We're going to see the little guy's grandmother."
Justin happily ran to the dining table, being sensible and polite, waiting for his parents to eat together.
"Ethan's cooking skills are getting better and better!" Jasmine praised from the bottom of her heart, finally not having to eat food made with eggs every day.
Ethan had recently learned some recipes, starting with various dishes made with eggs, such as Egg Custard, Egg Onion Rings, and Egg Yolk Sauce.
In short, he was focused on trying out various dishes made with eggs.
No wonder Mitchell and Edgar said that Ethan loved eggs.
Today! Finally, after Ethan's unremitting efforts and more than half a month of repeated attempts, he came up with a new dish, Chicken and Waffles.
Jasmine felt that it was really perfect not to eat dishes made with scrambled eggs.
"Really?" Ethan was excited. "The next few pages of the recipe are all about chicken: Roast Chicken, fried chicken, Chicken Wraps, and Grilled Chicken Wings."
Jasmine and Justin lowered their heads to eat, not wanting to talk.
"By the way, when we come back in the afternoon, let's contact the landlord. The toilet in the bathroom is a bit clogged, so let himtake care of it." Jasmine said in a low voice,"Although this landlord charges us less, I always feel that there's something fishy. I asked the tenants next door yesterday and knew that their rent was exactly twice as much as ours. Now I have reason to suspect that there's something wrong with this house."
Ethan was eating and getting choked.
Jasmine quickly patted Ethan on the back. "That's not what I meant, don't be afraid. What I meant is that the landlord is short of money or for other reasons. Let's take the opportunity to fix the toilet and take a look."
Ethan nodded. "Okay, I'll have Liam contact him."
Jasmine continued to eat happily.
Ethan was not happy at all, and the landlord might not have fixed the toilet at all.
After breakfast, Ethan took Jasmine to the Cunningham family.
"Edward said that Annabelle is at home today." he asked.
Jasmine nodded.
She's right there; they've already had a public disagreement, and Jasmine is no longer afraid of her.
"Mom, Aunt Annabelle is not a good person," Justin spoke in a low voice.
Jasmine was surprised and looked at Justin. "Justin, is there something you haven't told me?"
Justin was always stressed when he heard about Annabelle.
"For a while, by the pond at the kindergarten, Aunt Annabelle pushed me into the water; I remember her. Fortunately, I can swim. Uncle Richard taught me in the river in the countryside!" Justin had never told Jasmine and Richard, fearing they would worry about him. Moreover, Jasmine had a hard time during that time.
Jasmine's expression darkened for a moment, and she hugged Justin.
Ethan's face also darkened, increasing the accelerator on his feet .
Annabelle wanted his son's life.
She was seeking death.
Then it's time to settle old scores, and we'll pay it together!
