Chapter 766 Lisa and Jordan Divorce with No Assets
When Richard arrived, Steven hesitated.
Asha suggested that taking Richard over there, and someone would naturally deal with him.
Steven didn't say anything and frowned.
"Mr. Hughes, today's schedule..." As soon as Richard entered, Steven signaled everyone to leave.
Asha passed by Richard and deliberately bumped into him.
Richard frowned but said nothing.
"I'm leaving Silverlight City. If you are afraid to follow, we can terminate the contract now, but I have one condition," Steven said in a deep voice.
In the end, he compromised, he didn't want Betty to hate him.
Rather than letting Betty hate him, it was better to let her slowly become disappointed in Richard.
After all, Betty would eventually come back to him.
"What condition?" Richard asked.
"When I come back, divorce Betty, and I'll let you go," Steven said in a low voice.
If he weren't afraid of Betty hating him, with his personality, he would have just gotten rid of Richard.
Richard was silent for a long time before he spoke. "Impossible."
Steven frowned, looking at Richard. "When I give you a way out, you'd better take it."
Richard walked up to Steven and spoke slowly and firmly. "Three months minus three days. Not a day less. Wherever you go, I'll follow. But Betty is my wife, and I won't give up on her."
Steven was stunned for a moment, looking at Richard in surprise, then became sarcastic and sneered. "Richard, you're really naive. You better think it through. Someone like you won't survive three days in the place I'm going. I'm afraid you'll die there."
"I'm a bodyguard, responsible for your safety. My life has nothing to do with you, isn't that written in the contract?" Richard said in a low voice.
Steven fell silent again, frowning at Richard. "You better think it through."
Richard lowered his head. "I've thought it through. I'll go with you."
Steven said nothing.
It seemed Betty didn't know Richard's thoughts.
Richard didn't know what he was about to face, but Betty did.
"I'll give you a day to think it over," Steven said in a low voice, giving Richard a way out.
But Richard seemed determined. "Since I took the contract, I will fulfill my duty. I will protect you. As long as I'm alive, nothing will happen to you."
Steven frowned, looking at Richard angrily.
He was really hard to read.
Richard followed Steven for a day. Today, Steven was quite low-key, conducting normal business meetings and attending social events without making things difficult for Richard.
In the evening, as soon as Richard got home, Betty slapped him.
Richard stood still and just smiled.
"You're crazy," Betty's voice trembled. "I told you not to leave Silverlight City with him."
Betty's fingers trembled as she held her phone. It was a recording sent by Steven, showing that it was Richard, who insisted on going with Steven.
Richard held Betty's shoulders and spoke softly. "You're my wife. I want to keep you by my side openly."
"You're going to die. That's stupid," Betty cried.
She knew how terrifying it was over there.
"I should go," Richard said softly. "When we rescued you, that guy named Dev ran away. Do you remember?"
Betty's body stiffened. Of course, she remembered that lunatic, who kidnapped Betty to the Aurora Peninsula and locked her up with a wolfdog.
He was the creator of all Betty's nightmares, the bastard she had been looking for all these years.
She had once said that she couldn't rest in peace until Dev was dead.
"The police found his trail. Steven is an important person the police need to protect. By going with him, I'm not only helping the police protect Steven but also capturing Dev myself," Richard said, touching Betty's hair.
"You're my wife. No one is more important to me than you, Betty. I love you very much." There are some things that Richard must do.
If Dev wasn't caught, Betty would always be haunted by nightmares.
"Steven has also been looking for Dev. he is too cunning, like a rat. I will catch him, believe me," Richard reassured softly.
Betty clung tightly to Richard's clothes. "If the price is losing you, I'd rather..."
"No," Richard held Betty tightly. "I won't die."
"I'll come back. You stay home and wait for me," Richard said softly. "I need to be worthy of you."
Betty leaned against Richard, her body trembling slightly.
She knew she couldn't stop Richard anymore.
"You must come back alive. If you die, I'll remarry," Betty said hoarsely.
Richard smiled. "You won't get that chance."
The Taylor family.
Jordan placed an agreement on the table, frowning. "My mom said if you sign this agreement, voluntarily giving up the property distribution and returning the Taylor family shares you hold, we will voluntarily give up the custody."
Lisa sneered at Jordan. "So, this is your mom's plan."
She thought the Taylor family was really fighting for custody of Casey.
It turned out they were after the Taylor family shares she held.
Back then, Lisa married into the Taylor family as Mark's daughter, so the Taylor family gave her 15% of the Taylor Group shares to show sincerity. Now they wanted it all back, leaving her with nothing.
How ruthless.
"Jordan, after all these years together, you won't even leave me and Casey any living expenses. You're ruthless," Lisa said hoarsely. Although she hadn't planned to ask Jordan for anything, Jordan's scheming still made her heartbroken.
How ridiculous! Years of youth had ended up being just a joke.
Jasmine was right, people would get punished!
This was her punishment.
Wiping her tears, Lisa picked up the pen to sign.
Jordan hesitated, but his mother glared him viciously, so he said nothing.
Lisa signed, picked up Casey, and stood up. "From now on, Casey and I have nothing to do with you. See you at the courthouse at 9 AM tomorrow."
Jordan stood there, looking at the contract, wanting to chase after her in frustration.
His mother stopped him. "What are you doing? She's finally gone, and you want to bring her back?"
Jordan looked at her in frustration and slammed the contract on the table. "Is this what you wanted? Even if you don't care about Lisa, for Casey's sake, you shouldn't be so ruthless. How will they live!"
The Douglas family had fallen, and Lisa had nothing left.
How would she take care of the child?
