Chapter 453 Jasmine Was Bullied at School
In the cafeteria.
As soon as Jasmine and Amelia walked in, they saw Desiree and her crew blocking their way with their trays.
"Hey, idiot, come eat with us," one of Desiree's friends ordered Jasmine.
Their eyes were full of disdain, and Desiree was clearly trying to isolate Amelia by calling Jasmine over.
Jasmine looked around and asked, "Who are you talking to?"
"You," the girl sneered. "Desiree's treating you to lunch today. Lucky you."
Jasmine sighed. "Not interested."
Amelia burst out laughing, finding Jasmine even more likable. She didn't expect Jasmine to be so bold.
The girl finally caught on to Jasmine's meaning. "Are you looking for trouble?"
"She's new and doesn't know the rules. I'll explain them to her," another girl said, smiling at Jasmine. "Do you know who you're standing next to? Hanging out with her, you might not even graduate."
She pointed at Amelia and continued, "She's the little princess of Shining Sky Media."
The term "little princess" dripped with sarcasm. "She's been making headlines for mistreating and bullying her artists, gaining a reputation as a tyrant in the entertainment industry."
Jasmine nodded. The news had been buzzing about Shining Sky Media, a well-known entertainment company. It was accused by artists of workplace bullying, which led to depression and even suicide.
Naturally, Amelia, as the little princess of Shining Sky Media, was ostracized by everyone at school.
"Desiree is the girlfriend of the heir to the Wallace Group, the future CEO's wife. Do you get who to cozy up to and who to avoid?" the girl explained to Jasmine.
Jasmine nodded. Before enrolling, she had done her homework on the Wallace Group. It was considered upper-middle class. It's pretty impressive compared to the Wilson family at its peak. But compared to the Cunningham family, the Douglas family, and the Willer family, it didn't hold a candle.
Especially the chairman of the Wallace Group, the father of Amelia's fiancé, Louis, was always trying to meet with Cordelia to discuss potential cooperation. The Wallace Group's biggest partner in import and export trade was the Cunningham Group, and the Wallace Group heavily relied on that partnership to sustain their overseas trade.
"Impressive, but given the despicable nature of the heir of the Wallace Group, who has a penchant for attempting to assault minors, isn't the inevitable collapse of the Wallace Group imminent?" Jasmine asked, her face showing genuine shock.
The girls were stunned by Jasmine's question. When they came to their senses, their faces darkened. "You're talking nonsense. If you want to make friends with someone like Amelia, you're just asking for trouble. Look around and see who else is willing to be friends with her."
"Enough, why waste words on someone so lowly? Pathetic," Desiree said haughtily, then turned to leave.
Amelia gave Jasmine a thumbs up. "You're pretty awesome."
"We're friends, aren't we?" Jasmine smiled at Amelia, and the two went to get their lunch.
Just as Jasmine finished getting her food, someone deliberately pushed her. The tray slipped from her hands, and the soup spilled onto a boy sitting nearby.
The boy frowned, his expression extremely displeased.
Desiree's followers were snickering and whispering, "She's in trouble now, that's Samuel Mitchell."
Jasmine, feeling guilty, rushed over and quickly pulled out some napkins. "I'm sorry. it's my fault."
Samuel's face was grim as he looked up. "Are you an idiot?"
Jasmine felt remorseful, so she didn't get angry. "I'm sorry. How much is your shirt? I'll pay for it. I'm really sorry."
"Don't be silly. You couldn't afford it even if you sold yourself," Desiree said with a laugh.
Samuel was a bit annoyed. He rarely ate in the cafeteria, but he stayed today because of a student council meeting in the evening, only to encounter such a mess.
"I'll pay." Amelia rushed over to shield Jasmine. "Samuel, they pushed my friend. Don't talk to her like that."
Samuel glanced at Amelia but remained silent, his mood still dark.
"Don't make things up. We didn't push her," the girls denied. They were a bit scared since Samuel was involved. The Mitchell family was not someone they could offend.
"I'm sorry, really sorry," Jasmine said and then took out her phone. "Let's add each other on Facebook, and I'll pay you back for the shirt."
Samuel looked at Jasmine. "Is that your way to hit on people? So obvious."
Jasmine was taken aback, confused. "Hit on?" She hadn't been in school for years; what did that even mean?
"You like me, right?" Samuel asked with a stern face, looking Jasmine up and down. "You're not qualified. Your clothes are way out of style."
Jasmine struggled internally. She had only wanted to add him because she heard his name was Samuel Mitchell, and the Mitchell family was powerful, with strong military connections. Ulysses had two grandsons, one untraceable and one supposedly a junior here.
Jasmine had checked her classmates' information and found only one with the last name Mitchell, so it had to be him.
"Samuel, stop being ridiculous. She's my friend, and it's her first day," Amelia said, thinking Samuel was being absurd.
"I was really pushed by someone. It's my first day, and I'm at least five years older than you. You're too young for me," Jasmine said, thinking Samuel was insane. She put her phone away and prepared to leave with Amelia.
"He looks like a rich scion who won't miss the money for a shirt. Thanks, rich scion. Goodbye," Jasmine said, taking Amelia's wrist and heading back to get more food.
She walked past the girl who had pushed her and spoke in a low voice, "This is the first time. I'm giving you a chance. Everyone has a temper."
Jasmine was angry.
The girl was stunned for a moment, and then laughed so hard her stomach hurt. "You idiot. Even Samuel said you're out of style, and you're not okay with it? It's hilarious."
Jasmine sighed and turned to get her food.
Meanwhile, Samuel took a moment to process the fact that she said he was too young.
She thought he was too young.
Instantly, Samuel was furious. He couldn't stand being told he was too young.
When he was thirteen, he mustered the courage to confess to a girl he liked for the first time in his life, and the girl had told him he was too young and should focus on his studies.
Since then, whenever a woman said he was young, he would get angry.
"Very well, you've successfully caught my attention," Samuel said, walking over, grabbing Jasmine's wrist, and handing her his phone. "Add me on Facebook."
Jasmine was a bit bewildered. She hadn't been on campus for five years, and everything in school had changed so much.
Was this how people interacted now?
How strange!
