Chapter 452 Jasmine and Amelia Were in the Same Dormitory
"You look familiar," Amelia Carter said. She stared at Jasmine, unable to recall where they had met before.
Jasmine looked at Amelia and also found her familiar. "You do look a bit familiar."
Over there, the woman who had bumped into Jasmine let out a sarcastic laugh. "You really are something, trying to get to know everyone. So pathetic."
Amelia glared at the woman and said, "You look down on people. Someone like you has no right to speak."
"Amelia, stop bringing up people's past pains. Everyone has a past. Not long ago, you reported Louis Wallace for assaulting a minor, and he hasn't settled that score with you yet," the woman sneered, thinking Amelia was an idiot.
"You're so stupid. At first, Louis felt guilty towards you and wanted to make it up to you even while being with me. But after your fuss, he now only wants to be with me," the woman said proudly, after all, the Wallace family cared about their reputation.
Amelia's accidental actions had actually helped her.
"Desiree Ramsey, you are shameless," Amelia cursed with hands on her hips. "You two are a perfect match. I wish Louis infertility but has a house full of children."
Jasmine found their bicker amusing as she stood aside.
These girls must be around twenty years old and they seemed a bit immature.
The girl named Desiree came up to hit, but Amelia kicked her.
They were about to pull each other's hair.
Jasmine stepped forward to separate them and tried to mediate. "You two, stop fighting."
"It's none of your business. Look at you, so poor," Desiree looked at Jasmine, then said with disdain.
Jasmine looked down at her baggy pants, oversized T-shirt, and sneakers.
Each piece was 'carefully' selected by Ethan.
He said it made her look more like a student.
Her clothes weren't cheap, just men's styles.
They were all from the brand designed by Edgar, a luxury streetwear brand.
"Don't underestimate others," Amelia glared at Desiree and grabbed Jasmine's suitcase. "Which dorm are you going to?"
"Amelia, is the Carter family going bankrupt? You're just getting a head start on experiencing the poor life. Are you going to make friends with this girl?" Desiree mocked Amelia.
Jasmine wanted to help Amelia but didn't know where to start.
Amelia led Jasmine to the stairway and whispered, "Don't mind her, she's mentally ill."
But Jasmine noticed that all the girls in the dorm were all greeting Desiree, while avoiding Amelia and ignoring her.
"I'm going to dorm 163," Jasmine said to Amelia.
Amelia stunned for a moment. "You're the student moving in today. We're in the same dorm."
Jasmine said with a simle, "What a coincidence!"
"I just moved into the double dorm myself," Amelia said with a bit of unhappiness.
Jasmine looked at Amelia and asked, "Why?"
"Our family is going bankrupt, assets are being liquidated, and I owe a lot of money. Desiree stole my fiancé, thinking she's marrying into a wealthy family," Amelia snorted.
Jasmine felt awkward, having heard all this for free.
"Why is your family going bankrupt?" Jasmine asked softly.
"My fiancé is a few years older than me. When we were still dating, he was secretly with Desiree. I exposed it and reported it to the police. Now he's targeting our family," Amelia whispered.
Jasmine nodded. "So, none of the people in the dorm were your friends anymore?"
Amelia snorted. "It's up to me. They're all fair-weather friends. When they heard my family was wealthy and that I knew many celebrities, they all flocked to me. Now that they know we're going bankrupt, they're all sucking up to Desiree."
Now, those people were bullying and isolating Amelia to curry favor with Desiree.
Amelia was actually very sad inside, but she remained quite strong.
Jasmine nodded, understanding a bit more.
"Shameless! She still has the nerve to come to school. I heard their family deliberately diverted resources and tried to overshadow my idol's talent. When he first started, they exploited him terribly. They're really bad."
"Exactly, everything she eats and wears now is paid for by my idol's money."
In the hallway, some fans were cursing Amelia, becoming more and more blatant.
Jasmine was a bit surprised.
"If you don't want to be isolated, you'd better stay away from me," Amelia pushed the suitcase to Jasmine and lowered her head, ready to leave.
When one failed, everyone came to step on them. That was the situation with her family now.
Upon seeing their boss about to go bankrupt, those actors signed to their company all stood up to curse him. Those who once depended on the company, hoping for resources, had all changed.
"Since it's hard for you to stay at school, why don't you go home?" Jasmine caught up and spoke to Amelia.
Amelia said with her eyes reddened, "I have no home. I offended the Wallace family, and they teamed up to bully my family. My dad hit me and wants to sever our father-daughter relationship. I've been kicked out."
As she spoke, Amelia was about to cry.
Jasmine looked at Amelia, feeling sorry for the poor girl.
"Is there any hope for your family's company?" Jasmine quickly asked.
"Our family is probably beyond saving," Amelia stopped crying in an instant, seeming not to hope much for her family's company.
"Then why are you sad?" Jasmine noticed Amelia wasn't crying for the company.
"People are wicked, and true feelings are seen in adversity," Amelia said angrily.
"It's okay, we can stick together. I haven't been back to school for many years either. Let's go eat later," Jasmine smiled at Amelia.
Amelia looked at Jasmine cautiously. "Aren't you afraid of being bullied and isolated with me?"
"No, aren't we friends?" Jasmine thought isolating others was very childish. After all, she had experienced it herself.
Back in school, she had been isolated by Lisa and others.
She had no friends. They kept bullying and hurting her.
At that time, she was really desperate.
So Jasmine could understand Amelia's feelings well.
But fortunately, Amelia seemed to have a stronger character.
"Of course we are friends," Amelia said excitedly and happily.
Jasmine smiled as well. After putting down her suitcase, she went to the cafeteria with Amelia.
Jasmine was not just to complete her studies but also to find a way to help Ethan.
She had overheard Ethan and Liam's talk.
Ethan said Howard was going to target his company.
Ethan's company was still in its startup phase, and if Howard suppressed it maliciously, it would surely go bankrupt.
She had to find someone who could help Ethan and his new company.
And in her current class, there were two classmates whose family backgrounds were ones Howard wouldn't dare to offend.
If she could become friends with them, it might be a great help to Ethan.
