Chapter 487 Richard's Biological Mother

The doctor said Evan's injury wasn't the worst part; his mental trauma was worse than his physical wounds.

He seemed really depressed and often looked out of it.

Whether it was Jasmine's situation or Karen and Alex's, each one hit him hard.

Given Evan's coping skills, it might be tough for him to handle all this at once.

Plus, his condition got worse, and the surgery on his right leg left him with lasting effects, meaning he couldn't run or jump anymore.

"Okay," Evan nodded with teary eyes and said.

At Stanford University.

As soon as Jasmine entered the dorm, she saw Amelia acting suspiciously.

"What are you doing?" Jasmine asked, tilting her head.

Amelia was startled and stood up straight. "Keep your voice down."

After pulling Jasmine into the dorm, Amelia took off her mask. Her eyes were red as she said, "I'm here to get my things. I'm taking a break from school."

Jasmine was shocked. "Why?"

Amelia sniffled and spoke softly, "Haven't you seen the entertainment news?"

Jasmine was momentarily stunned; she rarely watched entertainment news.

"That day, I offended Louis. The Wallace Group went after my family, but my dad deserved it. Now, many actresses are coming forward, saying he harassed them. Our family is in a tough spot."

Amelia packed her things and prepared to leave with her suitcase.

She couldn't stay at school any longer; she was too ashamed to face anyone.

Her dad did such things, and she really couldn't face anyone.

"Your dad," Jasmine asked softly. "Is your mom going to divorce him?"

Given what happened in Amelia's family, divorce seemed like the best way to protect the children and herself.

Amelia shook her head. "She won't divorce him. She only cares about her son. Even if our family goes bankrupt, there's still an inheritance."

Jasmine nodded in understanding and didn't say anything more.

"Nolan won't help you?" Seeing Amelia looking a bit pitiful and lonely, Jasmine asked softly.

It seemed like Amelia and Nolan knew each other.

At the mention of Nolan, Amelia got nervous. "No, he won't."

She seemed to be afraid of something. Amelia lowered her head, her eyes even redder. "Nolan also had a hand in our family's quick downfall."

Jasmine looked at Amelia in surprise. "Nolan? He didn't help you and even went after your family?"

Jasmine didn't understand the situation.

Amelia gripped her suitcase.

"My dad didn't know his limits and provoked someone he shouldn't have," Amelia said softly, then turned and ran.

She was now hiding from Nolan. She used to think Nolan was someone who sold his body, and now she regretted it.

Her dad wasn't a good person either, thinking Fiona had no background and trying to mess with her.

As soon as she ran out of the school, a black car stopped by the roadside. The door opened, and Nolan frowned at Amelia. "Why are you running? Get in the car."

Amelia was stunned, looking at Nolan. After a moment, she lowered her head, threw her suitcase, and ran.

"In her haste to escape him, Amelia didn't even bother to grab her belongings.

Nolan's face darkened, and he signaled his assistant Elijah to pick up Amelia's suitcase.

"Mr. Cunningham, aren't we going after her?" Elijah asked.

"No need, let her be."

Nolan seemed a bit angry. After getting in the car, he told the driver to go.

Hiding in the alley, Amelia's heart raced. She was scared Nolan would come after her, but part of her hoped he would.

But Nolan didn't come after her.

She peeked out and saw Nolan's car had already left.

Feeling disappointed, Amelia leaned against the wall and slowly squatted down.

Nolan was scary; she should avoid him, especially since her family had offended him.

Her phone rang; it was her mom.

"Amelia, come home quick. Our address got leaked, and fans are going wild, smashing up the house. Your brother got hurt. Hurry back."

Amelia's eyes reddened, and she ran back quickly.

No matter what, her brother was still her closest family.

Jasmine sat on her bed, feeling uneasy. Amelia seemed off.

"Liam, can you find out where Amelia's family lives?" she asked.

"Amelia? The recently famous princess of Shining Sky Media?" Liam teased, keeping up with current events.

"She's a good person, no matter what her dad did," Jasmine softly defended Amelia.

Having been hurt before, she wanted to help Amelia in her toughest time.

When it was revealed she wasn't the Wilson family's daughter but the daughter of a criminal nanny, everyone transferred their hatred for May onto her, and she felt helpless.

"I'll check right away!" Liam realized he had said something wrong and slapped his mouth on the other end of the phone. He hung up and immediately went to check.

Looking out the window, Jasmine felt a bit lost, recalling herself six years ago. It all felt like a dream now.

She had finally made it through.

Everything she had now, she would never lose again.

At LY Company, Richard had just finished a meeting and returned from the training camp when he saw Sophia downstairs.

Sophia had tried to contact him many times, but Richard didn't understand her intentions and didn't respond.

"Richard, I'm your aunt. May is my sister," Sophia ran over, identifying herself.

Richard looked at her indifferently. "We have no connection, and I hope we never do."

"Richard, you can't say that. I sent money to May for your living expenses since you were a child. You can't say we have no connection." Sophia's eyes reddened, trying to grab Richard's hand. "Richard, let's find a place to talk. Let me explain."

Richard frowned and stepped back. "If you're here for that money, I'm sorry to tell you I never received any support from May. Since I can remember, I've been picking up trash and dropping out of school early to work. So when I say we have no connection, I mean it."

Checking the time, Richard felt impatient. "I hope you don't come looking for me again. I have no value to you. We should remain strangers."

"Richard! You already guessed my reason and purpose for finding you, right?" Sophia choked up. "You already know, right? May isn't your biological mother."

Richard's steps halted abruptly, his hands clenched.

He hoped Sophia would forget the truth and never speak of it.

"I don't understand what you're saying. Please don't come looking for me again," Richard warned, trying to escape.

"I'm your biological mother!" Sophia shouted.

Richard didn't stop, pretending not to hear.
