Chapter 681 Ethan Said Jasmine Only Loves Him
Ethan lay on the hospital bed, almost dying, and suddenly lifted his head to look at Connor, struggling to speak, "Are you insane?"
Connor looked disdainfully at the scars on Ethan's back that extended to his neck, sighed, and covered his forehead with his hand. "I don't know where it went wrong. I thought Jasmine's gentle nature would toughen up with a little push. But it seems I overdid it."
She had been a bit crazy lately.
"Ethan, can you please rest and follow the doctor's orders? If you don't recover and get discharged soon, Jasmine is really going to lose it." Connor sat beside him, gritting his teeth as he spoke again, "Today, she can dig up your mom's grave,;tomorrow, she can scatter Howard's ashes, and the day after, she might just remarry."
Ethan's dangerous eyes stared at Connor. "Don't talk nonsense. Jasmine only loves me."
It must have hurt too much; Ethan lowered his head onto the pillow, gripping the sheets tightly, the veins on the back of his hands bulging. "Let me go out for a bit."
"Give it up." Connor sneered. "See the security door at the entrance? It's installed backward. I had it welded just for you. From today until you recover, leaving the hospital is impossible."
Ethan bit the pillow, the pain causing the muscles in his back to contract. "I want to accompany her to the prenatal checkup."
"Look at you now; whether you can survive is still uncertain." Connor lowered his eyes and spoke again, "Ethan, what is buried in your mother's grave? Howard wanted to dig it up before he died too."
"Back then, my mother's funeral was handled by Juniper. Howard used the excuse of a business trip and never showed up. If there's anything in the grave, Juniper would know."
"You guessed right. Jasmine went to see Juniper today." Connor was a bit worried. Jasmine had become very formidable for Ethan's sake.
Ethan's pain-ridden body stiffened as he looked up at Connor. "Jasmine wants to use the Hamilton family's connections."
Ethan had always known Jasmine was smart. But he never expected Jasmine to think of the Hamilton family.
"The Hamilton family?" Connor was also stunned. "Didn't the Hamilton family fall into decline after your grandfather passed away? Are there any heirs left?"
"Vincent." Ethan suddenly tried to prop himself up in panic, but as soon as he exerted force, the pain in his back felt like it was being fried in oil. "Connor! Stop Jasmine, don't go to Vincent. He's a madman."
Ethan had never thought of using Vincent because he was too crazy and hard to control.
If Jasmine found him, it would be like releasing a demon.
"Vincent?" Connor frowned, never having heard Ethan mention him before.
"Go stop her!" Ethan, somewhat out of control, tried to get out of bed but was pressed back by Connor.
"What you need to do now is save your own life. Jasmine is much stronger and smarter than you think." Connor lowered his voice threateningly and quickly left.
Vincent was the Hamilton family's trump card left for Ethan?
But this trump card was a double-edged sword.
For Ethan to call him a madman and be so wary, what kind of person was Vincent?
At the Muskow International Airport, Connor was too late. Jasmine's plane had already taken off.
Jasmine was going to see Vincent to find this person herself.
The address Juniper gave was encrypted, and after decrypting it, it turned out to be a mental hospital.
"Are you sure you want to see him? He's a very dangerous patient." The nurse repeatedly confirmed with Jasmine.
"Let me see him." Jasmine nodded.
Why was Vincent in a mental hospital?
"He has killed people." The nurse, still uneasy, spoke again, "He killed someone when he was a teenager."
Jasmine frowned. "Do you know the victim's name?"
"Maurice Hamilton."
A member of the Hamilton family branch, and the one who later threw Vincent back into the orphanage.
Jasmine learned that after Wesley's death, who would raise Vincent became a big issue. To gain more of Wesley's inheritance, Maurice chose to raise Vincent. But when Vincent was thirteen, he threw him back into the orphanage, claiming Vincent had violent tendencies.
Later, Celeste couldn't bear it and brought him back out, sending him to Muskow for secret training.
As for why Vincent killed Maurice, it was unknown.
"Be careful. If there's any danger, call us." The nurse led Jasmine into the room and then left.
In the corner, a man in a hospital gown sat, his tall figure, long legs, and bare feet revealing pale ankles.
The walls were covered with formulas written in pencil, indicating he was likely a genius.
His back looked thin but inexplicably gave off an aggressive vibe, making people feel afraid for no reason.
Probably due to his long stay in the mental hospital, his hair was long and messy.
"Vincent," Jasmine called his name in a low voice.
Vincent kept writing formulas on the wall with a pencil as if trying hard to solve a difficult problem.
"If you calculate pi to the end, this world will go crazy," seeing Vincent not respond, Jasmine spoke again.
"Isn't this world crazy enough?" Vincent finally spoke, his voice cold.
He threw the pencil away and turned to look at Jasmine.
Jasmine was shocked. There was definitely a reason Wesley chose Vincent as Ethan's 'substitute.'
Because they really did look quite alike.
"Jasmine, no, Yasmine, why are you here to see me?" Vincent leaned lazily against the wall, looking at Jasmine.
Jasmine was a bit surprised. To outsiders, Vincent had been locked in a mental hospital since he was a teenager, yet he knew everything about San Fransisco.
He knew she was Jasmine, knew she was now the daughter of the Cunningham family.
It seemed Celeste had indeed helped him inherit everything from the Hamilton family.
"I need your help," Jasmine said directly. "The Douglas Group is in some trouble now."
The safety incident was only temporarily suppressed. If Owen and those people united against the Douglas family, even if Jasmine mobilized all available forces to fight back, it would be a lose-lose situation.
She needed a trump card, one that would make the Hawthorne family wary.
That was the Hamilton family's connections and power.
"You can see that I'm just a patient." Vincent propped his head up and smiled at Jasmine.
"If you're just a patient, how do you know I'm Yasmine?" Jasmine took a few steps forward, approaching Vincent. "The Hamilton family's connections and power should be in your hands now. I need those things."
Vincent raised an eyebrow. This woman wasn't afraid of him.
"I can help you, but I have a condition." Vincent looked at Jasmine with an increasingly meaningful smile. "Announce Ethan's death to the public and marry me with everything he has."
