Chapter 1000 Hannah is Discharged from the Hospital

Since he couldn't come up with anything, Charles just gave up.

He shut the laptop and handed it back to Wyatt. "You've done enough for today. Make sure someone keeps an eye on Violet!" He added, more seriously, "She's a mental patient now. Tell the hospital to treat her like any other patient. She's Carter's daughter, so don't slack off on her treatment."

Wyatt, who had been his assistant for years, got the hint right away.

Charles was saying to take good care of her, but what he really meant was to treat Violet like she was actually crazy.

How can a sane person be treated like they're nuts?

Even if she wasn't mentally ill, the treatment would drive her mad.

Plus, those meds had some serious side effects.

A healthy person shouldn't be taking them at all.

"Won't Mr. Moore get mad?" Wyatt hesitated.

He agreed with Charles' plan, but given Carter and Charles' relationship, if Carter found out, it could cause some serious drama.

Charles reminded him, "Some treatments can be recorded, while some don't need to be."

Wyatt got it immediately. "I know what to do!"

Charles meant that some meds shouldn't show up in the records, only the basic ones should.

This way, Carter wouldn't find out and wouldn't be able to prove anything.

It was shady and the hospital might not agree.

But with Charles' influence, the hospital wouldn't be a problem.

Charles said, "Once you've given the instructions, continue your vacation! I'm heading back to be with Hannah!"

With that, seeing Wyatt had nothing more to say, he stood up and went back to the ward.

Hannah was holding an ice pack to her left cheek with one hand and scrolling through her phone with the other. Hearing the door open, she looked up at him and smiled. "Done talking?"

"Yeah!" Charles nodded, walked over, took the ice pack, and kept applying it to her face. He asked softly, "What are you looking at? Want to rest a bit more?"

Hannah shook her head and kept scrolling through her phone. "Why isn't there anything?"

Charles asked with a smile, "What? News about Violet causing trouble at your store?"

Hannah nodded. "The incident was so big, but there's no news about it at all."

Instead, she found news about a bunch of women being stripped and thrown onto the streets today, with videos all over the internet.

The weird part was that the videos hadn't been taken down yet.

Charles said, "How could I let news about you get online? I couldn't protect you well enough and let you suffer like that. If I couldn't even handle the aftermath, what right would I have to be your boyfriend?"

Hannah looked at the news she was reading, then at Charles.

Seemingly getting the hint, she held her phone up to Charles and asked, "Did you do this too?"

Her face hurt, so she spoke softly, barely moving and taking her time.

Afraid of ruining his image in Hannah's eyes, Charles was about to deny it when he heard Hannah softly say, "Thank you!"

Charles looked at her sharply.

He saw Hannah's eyes welling up with tears, shimmering with light.

Charles asked, "You don't blame me?"

"You avenged me. Why would I blame you?"

Charles let out a heavy sigh of relief and said, "I was so afraid you'd think I was cruel and ruthless after finding out, and be scared of me, and not want to be with me anymore."

There was a hint of grievance in his tone that even he didn't notice.

Hannah retorted, "How could that be? Do you think I'm someone who can't tell right from wrong?"

Charles said with grievance, "I was just afraid of scaring you. You always thought I was a law-abiding good citizen, but now you find out I have a dark side. Don't girls usually dislike that?"

Hannah was amused by him.

But as soon as she moved, she winced in pain.

Charles immediately said, all nervous, "Don't move too much. Your face is still swollen!"

Hannah sat up straight, wrapped her arms around Charles' waist. She couldn't touch him with her face, so she rested her head on his chest, feeling deeply grateful.

"I'm really touched! No one has ever treated me so well and cherished me so much! And Stella, she fought so many people with a knife for me. Even though I was out of it, I remember everything she did and said. The first twenty years of my life were tough, but I never felt it. It wasn't until I met you guys that I realized what happiness is. Thank you for being in my life!"

If she hadn't met them, she might have thought she was destined to live her life that way.

Whether it was hardship or happiness, it was all predestined.

But now she didn't think so.

She was very happy now and wanted to stay happy forever.

Charles held her tightly, finally feeling at ease. "I had their clothes stripped off and threw them out! Didn't they want to strip you and film it? I made them experience the same thing! I had the video posted online! As long as I don't say to take it down, no one can do it. I want the video to stay up for three days and nights."

Hannah thought she would be scared or hate those people when they were mentioned. But she was surprisingly calm.

She knew it was because Charles had already avenged her.

The punishment those people received far exceeded the harm she had suffered.

All those who bullied her had been punished, and she didn't want to pursue it any further.

Hannah suddenly said, "I want to go home."

Charles almost immediately refused, "No, you still need to stay in the hospital for observation."

Hannah pulled away from his embrace and gently kissed his lips. "I want to go to your place."

Charles was stunned for a moment, not understanding what she meant.

Charles thought, 'Does she mean to go to my place first and then back to her rental, or does she want to live with me?'

Soon, Hannah's next words cleared up his confusion. "I want to live with you."

His guess confirmed, and Charles first widened his eyes in disbelief, then was overwhelmed with boundless joy.

"You really agree to live with me?"

Charles thought, 'My wish is really coming true? Hannah really agrees to move in with me?'

Although Hannah had stayed over at his place before, she had always been reluctant to move in with him.

He had asked many times, but she never agreed.

He didn't expect her to bring it up this time.

Hannah nodded. "After school starts, I won't stay in the dorm. I'll live with you! And you can help me terminate the lease on my current rental! See how much of the rent can be refunded."

Overwhelmed with joy, Charles immediately agreed, "Okay! Leave it to me! I'll have someone terminate the lease right away. I'll pack your things and move them to my place."

Afraid Hannah would change her mind, he immediately took out his phone and asked Wyatt to handle it.

Hannah looked at him pitifully and asked, "Can I be discharged now?"

The smell of disinfectant in the hospital was too strong, and she didn't feel like there was anything wrong with her body. She felt more comfortable at home.

"But your injuries haven't healed yet." Charles was still a bit hesitant and worried.

Hannah held his arm and acted coyly. "Let's go home! I only have superficial injuries, no serious internal injuries, so it's fine! If I feel unwell, we can come back! Christmas is coming, and I don't want to spend it in the hospital."

Charles couldn't resist her coyness and instantly gave in, "Alright! Let's go home! I'll go handle the discharge procedures now. Wait here obediently!"

Knowing that she could finally go home, Hannah immediately smiled.

Although her face didn't show much expression, her eyes curved into beautiful crescents, looking very pretty.
