Chapter 68 Martin avenges Patricia

After parting ways with Fannie, Randy went straight to the emergency room to observe Patricia in the ward.

In the ward, the doctor was examining Patricia, and Martin anxiously stood by. When he saw Randy enter, Jade immediately walked over with a smile, "You're back?"

Randy hesitated for a moment, "Haven't you left yet? Fannie is still waiting for you at the breakfast shop!"

Jade smiled, "I wanted to wait for you to come back and say goodbye before leaving!"

"Oh!" Randy didn't doubt her and waved goodbye to her, "Goodbye! Fannie is waiting for you at the breakfast shop! Hurry over!"

"Okay!" Jade patted his head, greeted Patricia, and left.

Martin's attention was all on Patricia, so he didn't pay attention to their conversation. He was asking the doctor about Patricia's condition, "Is she okay?"

The doctor said, "Superficially, there doesn't seem to be any problem, but we still need to do a brain MRI. If there's no intracranial bleeding, Professor Watson can be discharged after two more days of observation in the hospital."

Unexpectedly, Patricia hadn't completely passed the dangerous period yet. Martin's expression turned grim, and he furrowed his brows.

The doctor was frightened by his appearance and lowered his head, trembling as he said, "I-I'll go write a prescription for Professor Watson. If you take her for the MRI now, the results will be ready within an hour."

Martin didn't trouble the doctor and nodded to let him leave.

Randy also heard what the doctor said and anxiously asked, "Daddy, is mommy okay?"

Patricia recognized him at a glance as Randy and not Charles. She couldn't help but rub his little head and said gently, "Mommy is fine. You go back to the ward for now. After the examination, I'll come find you."

Randy still worried, "Are you really, okay?"

Patricia nodded, assuring him with conviction, "Mommy is a professor, I know my condition better than anyone else! I'm really fine, you don't need to worry."

Hearing her words, Randy finally felt relieved and left. Martin skillfully took Patricia for the examination.

The results came out quickly. There was no intracranial bleeding, only a moderate concussion and some external injuries. She would be observed and medicated in the hospital for a few days, and if all went well, she could be discharged within a week at the latest.

Confirming that Patricia wasn't in a life-threatening condition, Martin's tension eased.

After the danger passed, Martin finally breathed a sigh of relief and handed Patricia over to Randy. "Randy, take good care of mommy. Daddy still has some things to handle, but I'll come later to be with you!"

Randy didn't ask further and promised earnestly, "Daddy, please rest assured. I will take good care of mommy!"

Satisfied, Martin nodded and left the ward.

An hour later, he brought Alan to the basement where Cody and others were being held.

The basement was pitch black, with a strong smell of mold in the air. Alan covered his mouth and nose, disgusted.

Unfazed, Martin walked straight in.

The guards who were keeping watch over Cody and the others immediately brought a chair for Martin.

Martin took a seat.

Today, he wore a black pinstriped shirt with a few buttons undone at the collar, making his dark handsome face look as stern as the God of Death.

Cody and the others were brought out, including Cody's immediate superior and the scarred woman who had been stabbed by Patricia and was severely injured.

In total, there were five people.

Martin's long legs crossed together, his right hand twirling a ring on his left thumb. His face, hidden in the darkness, was encased in a mysterious aura, making it impossible to make out his appearance.

Cody was beaten all over, and from Martin's figure, he vaguely recognized him as the person who had attacked him that day. Furious, he climbed up, wanting to rush over and seek revenge on Martin.

"Fuck! Attacking from behind, what kind of man are you? If you have the guts, let's fight one-on-one!"

His arrogant words scared the nearby guard, causing him to break out in a cold sweat.

Martin's thin lips curled up, revealing the most perfect smile, as he said the most chilling words, "Cut off his hands!"

With just one sentence, Cody shuddered violently.

"Who do you think you are? I am a police officer, a law enforcement officer. Haven't you bothered to find out who my backing is? If you dare touch me, I guarantee you won't get away with it!"

In the darkness, Martin raised an eyebrow.

"Backing? Who is your backing?"

Cody smugly replied, "You'll be scared to death if I tell you."

A playful expression formed on Martin's mouth as he lightly opened his thin lips and coldly uttered two words, "Cut off his hands, now!"

The guards obeyed the order, each grabbing one of Cody's hands.

Cody didn't expect himself to say this much, and yet the other party still dared to lay hands on him. Trembling uncontrollably, he was horrified.

"My... my godfather is the Deputy Director of the Police Department. If you dare touch me, he won't let you go. He will definitely avenge me..."

Martin raised his right hand slightly, stopping the guards from taking further action, and asked, "Timothy Diaz?"

Thinking that he had scared Martin, Cody wore a smug expression on his face, "Yes, it's Timothy. What's your reaction? Are you scared now? If you're smart, release me immediately, or else..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Martin lightly waved his index and middle fingers.

A crisp sound could be heard.

"Ah..."

A painful howl echoed through the basement.

The bones in Cody's wrists were completely shattered, and his hands hung like a pile of mud, causing him excruciating pain as he writhed on the ground.

"Go on, keep cursing if you're not afraid of death."

"The despicable scoundrel who shoots from the dark, not daring to fight fair, only seeking to outnumber and bully the weak. Don't make me go out, otherwise, I'll kill you. And not only will I kill you, but I'll also find someone to gang-rape Patricia. I'll make you..."

Martin didn't react to the previous words at all.

It was only when he heard Patricia's name that he squinted his eyes sharply, an overwhelming gloominess filling his gaze. His handsome face turned sinister like a demon.

Alan was scared out of his wits by Cody’s ignorance.

The other three individuals shrank in fear, huddling together, their faces filled with despair as if the end of the world was imminent.

Suddenly, Martin laughed, a chilling and bone-chilling laughter.

"Go, bring Timothy here."

Cody, who had been muttering to himself, finally stopped and looked at him incredulously, "How dare you call my godfather by his name?"

Martin ignored him and continued, "Also, investigate Timothy's background thoroughly and bring the results to me."

One of the bodyguards received the order and left.

This time, Cody finally sensed that something was wrong. Gritting his teeth, he asked, "Who are you exactly?"

Martin didn't answer his question. He stood up and slowly walked towards him.

As he got closer, Cody finally saw his face clearly. The one who had been so arrogant earlier turned pale, unable to believe it, he said, "You, you are Martin?"

The richest man in Country Z, Martin, who ruled the business world.

"Do you know who Patricia is to me?" Martin's half-body hid in the shadow of the floor lamp, his eyes full of darkness, his face cold and terrifying.

Cody was terrified, his body trembling uncontrollably. Subconsciously following his words, he asked, "Who is she to you?"

"She is my wife!"

With just four words, Cody's face turned pale instantly.

He... he almost violated Martin's woman.

He was done for this time.
