Chapter 1259 A Lifetime Together
At 11:55, Hannah, holding Carter's arm, slowly walked down the red carpet to the music of the "Wedding March."
Stella held a bouquet and stood on the other side of Hannah.
Charles stood on the wedding stage, facing her, gazing tenderly and deeply at her small face.
Everyone's eyes were fixed on Hannah.
Hannah's body was tense!
During the previous activities, when Stella caused a scene, she was so focused on watching them play games that she forgot to be nervous.
Now, listening to the music and feeling everyone's gaze, she truly felt that she was about to get married, about to step into the hall of marriage with her beloved Charles.
Thinking of this, she couldn't help but start to get nervous again, almost stepping on the hem of her wedding dress.
Sensing Hannah's nervousness, Carter softly reassured her, "Don't be nervous! I will personally hand you over to Charles! Just remember, the man you are about to marry is someone you can trust wholeheartedly. He will take care of you and protect you for a lifetime. You will be together forever, and you don't need to think about anything else."
His eyes were red, his voice hoarse, with an almost imperceptible sob.
Clearly, he was reluctant.
He wanted to cry.
But he still carefully comforted Hannah.
Hannah had lived for twenty-one years, and for eight of those years, he had not been a part of her life.
Now, he had finally found Hannah, but before he could enjoy a few days of family happiness, Hannah was getting married!
Thinking that Hannah, at such a young age, was about to get married and have children, and soon become a mother, he felt sad.
He felt that time had flown by, and in the blink of an eye, Hannah had grown up.
When she was born, she cried endlessly in his arms.
The first time she learned to walk.
The first time she called him "Dad."
The first time he took her to kindergarten.
The first time he attended a parent-teacher meeting.
The first time she had her period.
Everything seemed like it happened just yesterday.
But so many years had passed.
Hannah closed her eyes and went over Carter's words in her mind, and she truly felt less nervous.
Carter led Hannah to the wedding stage and personally placed her hand in Charles's.
"Remember, you must treat Hannah well. If I find out that you have bullied her or made her feel wronged, I will not let you off! You know, she is my treasure, and I can't bear to see her suffer." As he spoke, he choked up.
The usually strong Carter actually cried at Hannah's wedding, in front of everyone.
The originally joyful atmosphere was tinged with a bit of sadness because of his tears.
Sitting in the audience, Lassie couldn't help but cry too.
She was reluctant!
Although they said they would live between the Moore Mansion and the Langley Mansion.
But in the end, she was getting married and becoming a Langley.
How could she not feel sad?
Charles tightly held Hannah's hand, his eyes slightly red with excitement. "Dad, don't worry. Hannah and I have finally come together, and I will definitely treat her well. I will never let her suffer any grievances! I will make her the happiest woman in the world. If I make her feel even a little bit wronged, you can come to me."
Although the wedding had not yet taken place.
He had already consciously started calling Carter "Dad."
Carter tightly pressed his thin lips together, appreciatively patting Charles on the shoulder.
"Charles, I believe you will treat Hannah well!" After saying this, he took a deep breath, wiped away his tears, and stepped down from the wedding stage, returning to his seat.
Shirley, sitting between Carter and Lassie, saw Carter's tearful face and made a funny face, "Daddy, shame on you, crying at your age. I'm not even crying."
Carter himself felt embarrassed.
But he couldn't stop the tears.
He had lived for over forty years, and there were only two times he cried so heartbreakingly. The first time was when Hannah went missing.
The second time was this moment.
The first time was out of fear and sorrow.
This time was tears of joy.
His emotions were very complex, both happy and sad, with a sense of loss and melancholy.
The priest held the microphone, trying hard to lift the atmosphere.
With his unique, humorous, and witty style, he made everyone laugh heartily.
The sad atmosphere caused by Carter gradually disappeared.
From the moment Hannah truly stood on the wedding stage and handed her hand to Charles, she was no longer nervous at all.
She gazed deeply at Charles in front of her, entrusting her whole heart to him.
The priest held the microphone and asked Charles, "Charles, do you vow, in this sacred moment, in front of all your friends and family, to solemnly swear to always be faithful to your partner, to experience life's joys and sorrows together, to embrace a beautiful future together? No matter poverty, wealth, or illness, will you stay by each other's side until old age?"
Charles swore without hesitation, "I do! For the rest of my life, no matter poverty, wealth, or illness, I will stay by her side and love her forever."
Hannah stared intently at Charles's profile.
Only she knew how determined Charles's eyes were when he swore.
She knew he wasn't just following the procedure but was truly speaking to her, telling her he would protect her for a lifetime.
The priest then looked at Hannah, "Hannah, do you vow, in this sacred moment, in front of all your friends and family, to solemnly swear to always be faithful to your partner, to experience life's joys and sorrows together, to embrace a beautiful future together? No matter poverty, wealth, or illness, will you stay by each other's side, support each other, and understand each other?"
Hannah looked at Charles, her eyes red with happiness, "I do! For the rest of my life, I will walk with Charles."
As her words fell, a round of enthusiastic applause erupted from the audience.
"At the end of the vow exchange, please take a minute to gaze into each other's eyes. Let this beautiful vow be forever etched in your hearts, making your love deeper and more lasting."
Hannah and Charles turned to each other, gazing deeply into each other's eyes.
As they looked at each other, their eyes simultaneously reddened.
From their acquaintance, love, and understanding to now stepping into the hall of marriage, it was like movie scenes floating through their minds.
They were childhood sweethearts, each other's first love, but it was so difficult to reach this day.
Time and again they separated, then time and again they met again.
No matter how the other changed, no matter how much time passed, even if they forgot each other time and again, they could always find each other again and fall in love again.
They were destined to be a perfect match.
In this lifetime, they would be together and never part.
They cherished this hard-won marriage.
The priest held the microphone and said, "The bride and groom will now exchange wedding rings!"
Randy and Stella immediately took out the ring boxes and handed them to Charles and Hannah.
They took the rings from the boxes, and Charles first put the ring on Hannah, tenderly kissing the back of her hand.
Hannah, moved to tears, slipped the ring onto Charles's left ring finger.
"At the final moment of the wedding, the groom will kiss the bride. The longer the kiss, the happier and longer-lasting your marriage will be."
Charles lowered his head and kissed Hannah's trembling lips.
The priest spoke blessings into their ears. "Marriage is an adventure that requires mutual tolerance and accommodation. In the days to come, may you cherish each other, understand each other, and create a beautiful future together. Ladies and gentlemen, let's cheer for their happiness and wish them a life full of love and joy!"
"From you, we see what true love is, what destiny is. In the years to come, may you always support each other and face life's storms hand in hand."
"I am honored to stand here and officiate this special wedding for this couple. Watching them from acquaintance to love, to today stepping into the hall of marriage, I feel the beauty and power of love."
"I hereby announce that the ceremony is complete. Let's once again offer our sincere blessings to them."
As the priest's words fell, another round of enthusiastic applause erupted from the audience.
