Chapter 1053 Blood Ties

When Hannah asked this question, Lassie's heart unexpectedly twisted slightly.

It hurt a little. But more than that, it was a feeling of sourness. She also wished that Hannah was her daughter.

Hannah was sensible, obedient, and respectful! If she could, she really wished Hannah and Violet could switch places.

But unfortunately, they couldn't! Hannah was someone else's daughter. She had nothing to do with her.

Lassie's eyes turned a bit red, and her throat choked up. Just as she was about to tell Hannah, "No, I'm not your mom," Hannah tilted her head and spoke again.

"I know you're not my mother. My parents died in a car accident."

This out-of-the-blue statement made Lassie even more puzzled. She looked at Charles again.

Hannah's parents died in a car accident? When did that happen? How come she had never heard about it?

After Hannah mysteriously disappeared at the last engagement party, her parents were worried but didn't say much. Charles had even sent a private jet to take them back to Country D.

During this time, they only occasionally called to ask about the situation, not showing the anxiety and nervousness that parents should have.

When Violet first went missing, she searched everywhere like a madwoman. After a month of fruitless searching, she collapsed and was bedridden for over half a year, missing Violet day and night, crying all the time, and even contemplating suicide.

If she hadn't accidentally discovered she was pregnant with Shirley, she might have already died.

Shirley's arrival brought a ray of light to her dark life. With Shirley, she was able to pull herself together again.

Hannah's parents were the exact opposite. When Hannah went missing, their first concern was about losing their current wealth and status.

She still remembered the first thing Hannah's mother said. "It's over. Hannah is missing. Will the Langley family break off the engagement with us? Will my car and credit cards be taken back?"

"She ran off without saying a word. If I catch her, I'll beat her to death."

The only one who cared about Hannah was her brother. When their parents were scolding Hannah for the sake of wealth, only her brother cried and yelled at them.

"Hannah is missing, and you're not more worried about her safety. Do you care about anything other than money?"

Hannah's parents' heartlessness made Lassie feel even more guilty and heartbroken.

She wanted a good daughter, but Violet had disappointed her time and again. Hannah's parents had a good daughter but didn't cherish her, only seeing the money and benefits she could bring them.

Charles said, "I'll explain it to you later."

He knew Lassie was very confused. If it were him, suddenly hearing Hannah say something like that, he would be very puzzled too.

Although Lassie had many questions, she felt more heartache for Hannah. She held her hand and gently patted it. "If you want, you can consider me as your mom! I also wish I had a daughter like you."

After thinking for a while, she suddenly said, "I'll take you as my daughter! What do you think?"

Hannah looked at her blankly. "Take me as your daughter?"

After a pause, she suddenly asked, "What does that mean?"

Lassie was amused by her innocent look and couldn't help but reach out to touch her face. "It means that even though we don't have a blood relationship, we can still be mother and daughter! You can call me mom from now on! How about that?"

"Mom." Hannah savored the word carefully.

Looking at Lassie, when she called out "Mom," an indescribable feeling rose in her heart, and her nose felt sour, making her want to cry.

Lassie softly asked her, "Do you want to? Let me be your mom?"

Hannah didn't know what came over her, but she nodded and agreed without hesitation, "I want to!"

In her joy, she even took the initiative to hug Lassie.

At the moment she threw herself into Lassie's arms, Hannah's tears uncontrollably fell.

Lassie couldn't help but get teary-eyed, her eyes welling up with tears.

Hannah clearly wasn't her daughter, but being with Hannah, she felt a very close bond, a feeling she never had with Violet.

Even when she found Violet and hugged her, she didn't feel as excited and happy as she did now. It was as if Hannah was really her long-lost biological daughter.

Lassie hugged Hannah tightly and choked up, "I swear, I will never let Violet bully you again. If she dares to hurt you, I won't forgive her."

What did it matter if there was no blood relation? At least with Hannah, she could feel the true bond of mother and daughter. But with her biological daughter Violet, she felt nothing.

She always believed in fate. She had a bond with Hannah, but not with Violet.

Hannah didn't understand what she was saying but still obediently nodded.

Charles, Martin, Randy, and Ryan looked at each other in bewilderment.

They never expected things to turn out this way. Lassie just came to visit Hannah, so how did she suddenly become her daughter?

Since waking up, Hannah had been wary of everyone except Lassie, to whom she showed affection. Hannah inexplicably became Violet's sister.

As far as they knew, Hannah and Lassie had only met a handful of times. How did their relationship suddenly become so strong?

Ryan's gaze towards Charles changed, and he walked up to him, whispering in his ear, "Looks like you can't escape the Moore family's grasp in this lifetime! You're destined to be their son-in-law."

Charles remained silent.

Similarly, when Austin heard the news, his hands shook, and the laptop he was about to put in his backpack almost fell to the ground. "You took Hannah as your daughter?"

Lassie was clearly in a good mood and said with a smile, "Yes! I liked her the moment I saw her. I always thought it would be great if she were my daughter! Now that I've taken her as my daughter, even though she's not biological, I'll treat her as if she were."

Austin fell silent.

Lassie, immersed in her joy, continued, "Later, you can accompany me to pick out a gift for Hannah! As her godmother, I must choose a gift for her."

Austin's forehead veins twitched. After a moment, he managed to say, "Hannah agreed?"

That shouldn't be! Hadn't Hannah forgotten everyone? This meeting with Lassie was practically their first. Hannah was a very reserved person; she shouldn't have agreed so easily!

"Yes, she agreed! If she hadn't suddenly called me mom, I wouldn't have thought of taking her as my daughter!"

Austin's hand shook again. Hannah called Lassie mom? Did she remember something? Could it be that this hypnosis session conflicted with the previous one, causing her to remember something?
