Chapter 1165 Taking the Initiative
Amid all this anxiety, the plane finally landed at Sunset Bay International Airport.
Hannah, worried sick about Oliver, hadn't rested a bit. As soon as the plane touched down, she headed straight to the prison.
After the warehouse incident, Charles had Alan take Austin away and lock him up. But thanks to the Langley family's influence, Austin hadn't been sentenced or even interrogated; he was just kept there.
Once in the car, Charles immediately tried to locate Oliver using his phone number.
Unfortunately, the other party seemed to have anticipated his move and had turned off the phone early on.
Charles tried several times but failed.
Frustrated, Charles called Wyatt, asking him to send people to find Oliver and figure out how he ended up in someone else's hands.
On the way to the prison, Charles also contacted Martin and Carter, asking them to come over immediately.
So, when they arrived at the prison entrance, Carter, Patricia, and Lassie were already waiting. Seeing them approach, they quickly came forward.
Lassie asked anxiously, "What's going on? You didn't explain clearly over the phone!"
Patricia nodded in agreement, "Exactly! Austin is cunning and malicious. If we let him go, it'll definitely cause endless trouble! We worked so hard to catch him; we can't let him go!"
Martin chimed in, "Your mom's right! Austin is devious. We saw it in the warehouse; he hasn't realized his mistakes. With his obsessive and twisted desire for Violet, he won't give up easily. He'll definitely come back!"
Carter added, "Yeah, we can't let him go!"
Although he felt heartbroken and regretful about Austin's current situation.
However, since Austin pushed him down the stairs and had Tina hypnotize him to keep him from waking up, he no longer considered Austin his son.
Carter didn't have such a malicious child.
Seeing everyone disagreeing with releasing Austin, Hannah became anxious, "We have to let him go. I can't use his life to gamble with Oliver's! The person who captured Oliver said that if we don't send Austin to the designated place, they'll kill Oliver. I don't even know who she is! When I was with the White Family, Oliver was the only one who genuinely cared for me. I can't let anything happen to him."
Everyone fell silent.
Carter patted Hannah's shoulder and sighed deeply, "I understand how you feel! You have always been loyal and righteous! Besides, Oliver is your brother; you definitely won't stand by and do nothing."
His understanding brought tears to Hannah's eyes. "Thank you, Dad. Can you bring Austin out? That woman said I have to personally deliver him to the designated place."
Her words were met with unanimous opposition.
Lassie exclaimed, "No way! You just escaped danger, and your legs aren't in good condition. You're not fit to deliver him."
Carter nodded in agreement, "Your mom's right. Even if you were perfectly healthy, we couldn't let you take the risk."
Patricia added, "Austin is cunning. If you're alone with him, it's like a lamb to the slaughter! What if he ties you up? We can't take that risk."
Hannah knew they were worried about her.
But even if she knew it was a dangerous situation, she couldn't ignore Oliver.
"But I can't just leave Oliver hanging! He's in this mess because of me! If he had never known me, he'd still be a regular high school kid."
Everyone fell silent again.
They all knew she was right.
Oliver was targeted because of her. If they did nothing, she would feel guilty for the rest of her life.
Charles, who had been quiet, finally spoke up. "Everyone, let's calm down. I've already asked Wyatt to investigate. Let's wait for his findings."
Just then, his phone rang.
It was Wyatt calling.
Charles answered and put the call on speaker so everyone could hear.
"Mr. Watson, we've got some info! Oliver got a call during lunch and then asked his teacher for half a day off, saying his sister was in a car accident and he needed to go to the hospital. He left school and never came back.
I checked the street cameras. Oliver got into a taxi outside the school. The taxi disappeared after entering a road with no surveillance. The license plate was fake."
After hearing Wyatt's report, everyone frowned and looked grim.
The situation was clear now.
Oliver got a call during lunch, thinking Hannah was in a car accident, and rushed to the hospital.
Being young and inexperienced, he got into a taxi outside the school without verifying the situation.
He fell right into the trafficker's trap.
After getting into the taxi, he disappeared.
The trafficker was smart, knowing how to lure Oliver out.
And Oliver, unaware of the dangers, didn't verify the truth and fell into the trap.
Hannah blamed herself, "It's all my fault. Oliver left school because of me!"
Lassie comforted her, "It's not your fault. The trafficker could have used many ways to lure Oliver out. They just happened to choose this one."
Hannah held her face in her hands, tears streaming down.
Charles placed a hand on her shoulder and asked, "Any other information?"
Wyatt replied, "Not yet! The trafficker is very cunning, likely changing cars several times. We found the initial taxi in an alley of an old neighborhood. It had been washed, and we found no useful information! I'm still searching. I'll update you as soon as I have news."
"Alright!" After ending the call, Charles looked grim. "The trafficker is not only cunning but also meticulous, knowing how to erase traces and clues!"
Martin said seriously, "It seems we're dealing with a high-level criminal."
Charles nodded in agreement. "Yeah, definitely."
Because of this, catching the trafficker would be even more difficult.
Lassie asked irritably, "What do we do now? Do we really release Austin? Violet will live in fear for the rest of her life! We need to take action."
Her words made everyone ponder again.
They knew she was right.
Austin was smart and cunning. If Hannah fell into his hands again, with his previous experiences, he wouldn't be easy to find next time.
What should they do?
They couldn't ignore Oliver.
Everyone was caught in a dilemma.
