Chapter 1113 Searching for Evidence

Lassie felt as if all the strength had been drained from her body. She leaned back, exhausted, staring blankly at the road ahead.

Alan said, "There's more!"

"More?" She couldn't believe there was more.

Lassie exclaimed in disbelief. How much had Austin done that she didn't know about? She suddenly felt like she didn't know Austin at all.

She thought he was sensible, obedient, and had his own opinions. She believed he knew what he wanted, and because she felt sorry for him, she supported him, letting him live according to his own ideas.

She never imagined that her support had turned into indulgence. It was precisely because she hadn't been around Austin for a long time that he could do so many wrong things without any scruples.

Alan hesitated, unsure if he should continue. He was afraid that if he said too much, Lassie wouldn't be able to handle it.

Seeing his hesitation, Lassie said, "Go ahead! I can handle it! He's my son; I should know what he's done."

Hearing this, Alan said, "The fake Violet was probably arranged by him too."

Lassie was shocked. "Him again?"

She should have thought of it. The fake Violet knew so much about Violet's childhood and could remember her relationship with Charles.

If she were the real Violet, there would be nothing to say, but if she were fake, it meant someone was behind her.

As for who that person was? Lassie had suspected everyone before, except her son Austin. Now that she thought about it, if it was him, everything seemed to make sense.

Alan nodded. "Yes! The paternity test was probably tampered with by him too! And the clue that led you to the fake Violet was likely planted by him."

Of course, without concrete evidence, Alan didn't dare to be too certain. Even though he was ninety percent sure it was Austin, he couldn't be completely sure.

Lassie felt a throbbing pain in her temples. Her head hurt! It hurt as if it was going to explode.

How did it come to this? Why did it come to this? She couldn't understand!

She recalled the moment she found Austin twenty years ago, but no matter how she thought about it, she couldn't figure it out.

Alan had said everything he needed to say. Lassie knew what she needed to know! But Alan didn't mention whether Carter was deliberately harmed by Austin.

He was ninety percent sure that the fake Violet was Austin's doing, but he wasn't as certain about Carter's case. After all, he had no concrete evidence, and Carter was still in a coma.

Anyway, Austin had already committed so many crimes. As for Carter's case, it would be better to wait until Carter woke up to discuss it.

After Alan finished talking to Lassie, they arrived at Rose Garden Manor. At the entrance, two black SUVs were parked.

Alan didn't let them start searching immediately but took two bodyguards inside with him.

Entering Rose Garden Manor, Alan took out his phone and opened a tracking app. Soon, a small red dot began flashing on the app.

Lassie leaned over and curiously asked, "What's this?"

Alan explained, "This is a tracking app designed by Charles himself. When Austin contacted Tina, a virus automatically implanted into Austin's phone from Tina's phone! I'm using the virus to track the phone Austin used to contact Tina."

"However, because the situation is special, and the Moore family and the Langley family are old friends, Charles didn't want Austin's actions to affect the relationship between the two families, so he asked me to bring you along! This matter is significant, and you have the right to know."

Lassie thought she would be very angry, but she found that she was surprisingly calm, eerily calm.

"Charles did the right thing! When Austin tried to kill Charles back then, Charles should have told us! He's my son; I should discipline him properly."

Alan didn't respond to her words. Following the red dot on the tracking app, he went to the second floor.

Other trackers could only locate a general area, requiring a search within that range. But the tracker designed by Charles was different. The range could be narrowed down to within 15 feet.

Soon, Alan, holding his phone, followed the red dot to a room on the second floor. The closer he got to the destination, the more frequently the red dot flashed. "It should be in this room!"

Lassie said, "This is Austin's room!"

This room had always been Austin's alone. Except for the regular cleaning by a maid, almost no one went in or out.

When Austin was little, she and Carter would go in, but now that Austin had grown up and had his own privacy, they rarely went in unless necessary.

Alan opened the door. It was daytime, the curtains were open, and the windows were open, making the room very bright.

It was clear that Lassie and Carter treated Austin very well, giving him the largest and brightest room, which also had a private bathroom. The decor was also in a boy's style.

After entering the room, the red dot stopped moving. Alan waved his hand. "The phone is in this room. Everyone, search! Remember, be careful not to damage or destroy anything."

The bodyguards who followed him in began searching the room. They first checked the bedside table.

This was almost everyone's habit; people would put their phones in the bedside table drawer. But the bedside table drawer only had some small items, no phone.

The bodyguards searched elsewhere. Under the pillow, under the sheets, under the bed, in all the drawers, in the wardrobe, in the bathroom—they searched everywhere.

Lassie watched them nervously, her heart in her throat. Although Alan had said so much, she still held a glimmer of hope.

Because the room was simply furnished, with no clutter, everything was almost in plain sight, so the search was quick. They searched the entire room but didn't find the phone.

Alan frowned, puzzled, looking at the red dot on his phone. It clearly showed the phone was in this room, so how could it not be?

Seeing that they hadn't found the phone Alan mentioned, Lassie felt a bit relieved. Not finding the phone, could it mean this was a misunderstanding? Could it mean her son Austin was still the way she remembered him?

With Violet lying in the hospital in a coma and Carter also in a coma, she really didn't want anything else to happen to her family. She just wanted her family to be safe and healthy.

Alan asked, "Did you check the wardrobe thoroughly? Did you check every piece of clothing?"

The bodyguards nodded. "Yes, we checked thoroughly. We checked between every piece of clothing. There's nothing!"

Alan's brows furrowed tightly. He was puzzled, his sharp eyes scanning the room. He thought of something, and his gaze finally settled on the wardrobe. He walked over and began checking each piece of hanging clothing.

When he reached the fourth piece of clothing, he felt a hard object in his palm.
