Chapter 1065 Is Hannah's Memory Starting to Return?
Charles gave her a deep look without saying much, just reminding her, "Take good care of Hannah. Remember, don't leave her side for a moment. Wherever she goes, you follow."
Stella patted her chest and promised, "Don't worry, this time I definitely won't lose her."
If she hadn't been distracted during the last engagement party, Hannah wouldn't have gotten into trouble.
In the end, Hannah's current state was partly her responsibility. She would never let the same thing happen again.
Charles added, "I'll call your phone later, and then you give the phone to Hannah."
"Okay!" Stella nodded obediently without asking further questions.
Charles nodded in satisfaction, patted her shoulder, and as the elevator opened, he gave Stella one last reminder to take good care of Hannah before stepping in.
Shortly after Charles left, the phone rang. Hannah immediately recognized Tina's voice. "Be good and go with Charles to Country D. He's a good friend of mine and will take good care of you. I'll come to find you as soon as I finish my work."
Sitting on the bed, Hannah asked pitifully, "What exactly are you busy with? Why haven't you finished yet?"
Charles had the phone on speaker. Hearing her question, Charles quickly wrote the word 'work' on a piece of paper.
The voice actor immediately understood and said softly, "Just some work-related stuff! How can I come to find you if I don't get my work sorted out?"
Hannah was silent for a while before reluctantly agreeing, "Alright then! You have to come find me as soon as you're done."
"I will!"
At this point, Charles took out another prepared piece of paper.
The voice actor read from it, "Stella, Charles, and Randy are all good friends of mine. They will take good care of you. Listen to them; they won't hurt you. Call me if anything comes up. We'll stay in touch."
Although Hannah was unwilling, she still agreed, "Alright! But you have to call me often!"
"I will!"
Hannah said reluctantly, "Tina, I'll miss you!"
The voice actor read from another piece of paper Charles handed over, "If you miss me, send me a message. I'll give my phone number to Charles so he can bring it to you! I won't let you lose contact with me."
Hearing this, Hannah finally smiled. "Okay! I'll message you! You have to reply to me as soon as you can!"
Charles took out another prepared piece of paper and placed it in front of the voice actor.
The voice actor read from it, "I've been busy with work lately. If I don't reply to you immediately, it's probably because I'm busy. Don't overthink it. I'll reply as soon as I see your message."
Her voice was gentle, like she was comforting a girlfriend. The voice actor never thought she would one day be comforting someone else's girlfriend.
Hannah nodded vigorously. "Okay! I'll be good!"
After the call ended, Hannah's mood improved significantly, and she was no longer as wary of Stella and Randy. Instead, she started talking to them.
She pointed at Stella. "Are you Stella?"
Stella could only hear Hannah's voice and not the other side of the conversation. Seeing Hannah finally showing some goodwill, she excitedly said, "Yes, yes, I'm Stella! We used to be very good friends! Hannah, you're finally talking to me."
Previously, whenever Hannah spoke, it was always to ask for Tina, which almost drove her crazy.
Hannah didn't respond to her and instead pointed at Randy. "Are you Randy?"
Although she hadn't interacted with Randy and Charles much, she could easily tell them apart.
With just one look, she knew whether it was Charles or Randy in front of her.
Randy smiled and nodded. "Yes, I'm Randy! I'm Charles's twin brother."
Hannah smiled. "Tina said you are her good friends and that I should listen to you."
Stella pouted disdainfully. She couldn't help but think to herself. Tina could say anything, and Hannah would think it was great. Damn it.
Hannah used to only trust her and had only one friend. Now, all she talked about was Tina.
After the call, Hannah was temporarily pacified, and Charles immediately started preparing to return to Country D.
IntelliMerge Technologies Company had a branch here, and Wyatt was very efficient. Although he wasn't in Country H, he quickly arranged the flight with the airline.
At exactly noon, Charles boarded a private jet to Country D with Hannah. Stella and Randy, worried, followed them.
As for Tina, Charles had already instructed to find a time in the next couple of days to bring her back to Sunset Bay.
The Langley family's businesses were global, but their headquarters were in Sunset Bay, and all their power was concentrated there. Bringing Tina back to Sunset Bay would make things much easier.
The flight arrived in the capital of Country D at midnight. Charles didn't rush to take Hannah to revisit old places but first took her home to rest.
With Tina's instructions, Hannah was much more obedient. She did whatever Charles told her, like a child listening to an adult.
She had no defenses about going to Charles's home. Standing in the foyer, looking at the understated luxury of the house, her heart suddenly ached, and her eyes unknowingly welled up with tears.
What was going on? She had never been here before, so why did it feel so familiar, like a long-awaited reunion?
And her heart felt sour and uncomfortable, making her want to cry. What was wrong with her? Why did she have this inexplicable feeling?
Seeing her standing still in the foyer, Charles couldn't help but ask with concern, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Hannah looked at Charles.
Seeing her red eyes and tear-filled gaze, Charles was startled and became a bit flustered. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?"
Hannah sniffled and said tearfully, "I feel uncomfortable!"
Charles thought she was really sick and immediately asked, "Where does it hurt?"
Hannah placed her hands on her left chest, "Here!"
Charles asked nervously, "Is your heart uncomfortable?"
Hannah shook her head. "I don't know why, but I feel very uncomfortable inside, like I want to cry! It's my first time here, but it feels so familiar, like I've been here a long time ago. Why do I feel this way?"
Her words instantly gave Charles hope. He couldn't help but look at Stella and Randy.
Stella and Randy's eyes also shone with excitement.
Stella couldn't help but say, "It seems to be working! Great, I finally see some hope."
Just coming home made Hannah feel uncomfortable and familiar. If they went to the school or the Crystal Blue Lake resort where she and Charles had their first date, she would definitely remember more. Great. Now Tina couldn't threaten them anymore.
